Will the Rangers add to the Montreal Canadiens struggles, find out as Championship handicapper Dana Lane breaks down tonight's spotlight match-up, with a pick he feels it's quite strong.

To say that we're on a run would be underestimating how strong our NHL plays have been as we hope to improve on our 8-3 record in our last 11 games. Although my followers have cashed a great deal of tickets in this streak never get too ahead of yourself no think that it's an excuse to increase your wager amounts. No matter how well you're doing remember that slow and steady wins this race.

I've said this a hundred times, If Carey Price doesn't carry the Montreal Canadiens they will have a difficult time winning at the rate they started the season at. Price is coming off his worst performance of the season against Minnesota, a 7-1 trouncing. Yes, Price gave up all seven. That's the most goals he's allowed since March 2nd, 2013 against the Pittsburgh Penguins, allowing the same amount. He allowed eight goals to the Bruins back in 2011.

New York dropped a 4-2 decision to Toronto last night with a returning Rick Nash. You know how I feel about betting teams with superstars returning, go against them every time. After, all bets are off as they seem to need a game or two to get their legs back allowing them to find some cohesion with their line mates. Nash only played 15 minutes last night so expect a slightly bigger work load tonight. Pavel Buchnevich also made his return to the line-up last night, contributing his first point since November 12. Despite the loss to Toronto, New York has won five of their last seven.

I've been a big proponent of Max Pacioretty making the All-Star team but perhaps his recent slide contributed to that decision. Pacioretty started this month with four goals in three games but since he's managed just one assist over his last three games. When a teams offensive leader is in a slump I certainly take notice because while it appears that New York is getting stronger, it's fair to say that Montreal's big weapons are playing their weakest Hockey of the year.

That's not to say that Montreal couldn't pull it together and play well tonight but you know that I don't like to bet teams based on a hope that they play well especially when I can get a generous +136. Let's get down on the Rangers tonight for a unit. As always, please shop for the best lines at all SBR approved SportsBooks here.
