Today we have a hefty slate of NHL games, featuring the Jets vs Canucks in a matchup that offers some interesting value, our expert capper Dana Lane really likes these odds. Will Vancouver be able to beat the Jets for the second time, at home, in three days?

Only two more days until the NHL Christmas break so let's go out on a high note before we return on the 27th. We've been spinning the wheels lately but that's okay as long as we remain disciplined and focus on the real prize which is having a winning season.

Before we get to tonight's play lets remind everyone that I do a show with Mike Brenner and Scott Carter called the 'PuckHeads' on Tuesday and Thursday's. Today, I had three plays on the show so please follow me there too as we operate in the black on that platform as well. Tonight we go to the Pacific Northwest where the Winnipeg Jets will once again take on the Vancouver Canucks at Rogers Arena.

We see a typical betting reaction to this game. The Canucks handled the Jets easily on Tuesday so the public jumps on the team in a revenge spot. I personally don't quite know what to make of the Canucks but I do know that I consider the Winnipeg Jets to be one of the worst teams in hockey despite their record that indicates that they're close to be a .500 team. The simple fact is, if you can't consistently generate scoring chances then you're bound to lose a lot of hockey games. The Jets are last in shots per game (28.1) and 17th in goal scoring. I question their toughness and ability to win loose puck battles in front of the net. Granted the Canucks don't light these categories up either but at least I know I'm getting a team with a chip on their shoulder from everyone telling them how bad they are. There may be a talent gap for them on most nights but the effort is always there, especially at home where they have a surprising 10-5-2 record. Winnipeg is supporting a 5-11-2 road record.

Defensively the Canucks seem to fitting into the defensive system that Willie Desjardins has been preaching from day one. Good to finally see some defensive structure.

Lets get some more of the Canucks tonight. Remember when putting your bets in make sure to find the best-shopped lines.
