Denver Broncos

Week 1 NFL Preseason betting odds are finally out at sportsbooks across the internet and across the world. I have found several early odds value in a couple of Week 1 preseason odds.

Broncos vs. Bears
The Broncos and Bears feature two head coaches who have proven to be very good at winning and covering ATS in the first week of the preseason. Now they face off against one another on Thursday. The Bears' Jon Fox though has a little more motivation in mind, especially after the Broncos won the Super Bowl last season.

Fox left Denver right before the Broncos rode an old and busted Peyton Manning to a Super Bowl ring and while Gary Kubiak does deserve a lot of credit, you have to think that Fox will have that in the back of his mind when these two teams face one another.

Fox is 10-4 in his career in Week 1 of the preseason, while Kubiak is 7-2. Last season the two coaches finished the preseason 3-1 and while Fox will want to get a few series for Jay Cutler and the Bears' starters, the Broncos are trying to incorporate a lot more moving parts, including a new quarterback.

You can look at that two different ways. On one hand, the Broncos might play their starters more in the beginning of the game before heading to the bench and fringe roster players. On the other hand that may hurt the Broncos some if their quarterback situation isn't in order. However, I'm among the thinking that the quarterback battle in Denver is going to help them in this Week 1 preseason game.

Paxton Lynch has a lot to prove this preseason and I see the 26th overall pick playing well in this game and beyond. Mark Sanchez has his work cut out for him, but either way, the Broncos' have the motivation and the Week 1 preseason coaching record to convince me they're a good value, even with Fox's motivation to beat his old team. The Broncos are a solid NFL pick on this game.

Buccaneers vs. Eagles
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have a new head coach after (in my opinion wrongly) firing Lovie Smith last season and now the man at the helm is Dirk Koetter. The former offensive coordinator has made great offenses work in Atlanta before he came to Tampa Bay and last season even with a rookie quarterback the Bucs showed promise.

They are going to be expected to make a big leap this season, especially after an 8-8 finish in 2015. That means a Week 1 preseason win might be the thing to get them going in the right direction. While I don't expect veterans like Vincent Jackson to see the field much, if at all, but Mike Evans and Jameis Winston will want to connect for a touchdown before coming off the field. Plus, the Bucs' new coordinators might want to get into the rhythm of things in Week 1 to get things going in the preseason.

The Eagles are also dealing with a new head coach, but their offense is going to be pitiful. I doubt that improves much in Week 1 of the preseason either. Even with the game being in Philadelphia, that doesn't mean much to me, or the Bucs for that matter. Taking the points might be the best play for this one on Thursday's NFL Odds.
