After a well-earned week off, the Oakland Raiders are the hot NFL pick for Monday night's game against the Houston Texans, who have done the most with the least.

Record: 17-14-1 ATS, 4-8 Totals

Well, that was an interesting week of football, wasn't it? Underdogs took a 8-6 SU and 9-5 ATS record into Monday night's action; the carnage was mostly limited to small faves, but the New England Patriots (–7.5 at home) lost 31-24 to the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday Night Football, sending the NFL universe all a-tizzy.

While all this was happening, the Oakland Raiders (7-2 SU, 6-3 ATS) were at home with their feet up on the couch, enjoying a nice, hot cup of Ovaltine, or maybe some purple drank. They'll be back in action this week, and they're already the fashionable NFL pick for next Monday night's matchup with the visiting Houston Texans (6-3 SU, 5-3-1 ATS). As we go to press, the Raiders are 5-point favorites on the Week 11 NFL odds board, and our consensus reports show early bettors on Oakland by a 2:1 ratio.

O's Up, H-Town Down

The Raiders have certainly done well for themselves this year, and they've become one of the most popular picks out there – so why are the sharps climbing on board this early? It might have to do with the Texans. They've got plenty of fans, too, especially now that they're on top of the AFC South. But this might be the worst 6-3 team in NFL history. Houston has a minus-27 point differential after nine games; this is a 3-6 team in disguise, according to the stat gurus at Football Outsiders.

Winning back-to-back games against the Detroit Lions (+1 away) and the Jacksonville Jaguars (–3 at home) has taken some of the heat off Texans QB Brock Osweiler, who signed a four-year, $72-million contract during the offseason. Osweiler has some upside, but he's been playing like one of the worst quarterbacks in the league, and he threw for a grand total of 99 yards against Jacksonville. We'll fade that every day and twice on Monday (8:30 p.m. ET, ESPN).
