With most teams putting their starters on the field for week 3, the games appear to be very interesting. Our expert capper analyzes the matchups for Saturday's action and provides his NFL Picks of the day.

New York Giants vs New York Jets

Who Are the Kings of New York/New Jersey?
Although this game has great importance to the players and the fans for bragging rights, it's still a preseason game and won't determine who the better team is. That said, we'll be hearing Jets fans in the crowd as this is officially a New York Jets home game. The Jets finished last season at 10-6 and didn't make the playoffs due to a crushing loss to Rex Ryan and the Buffalo Bills. Now, they have Ryan Fitzpatrick signed and despite a tough schedule they expect to be a major contender where the playoffs are concerned. These two teams are on a different level as the Jets are programmed to win now while the Giants will be playing under a different coach and not as much is expected.

OBJ vs Revis Island
There's no Ken Norman in the secondary for Odell Beckham Jr. to beat up on and this will be another tall order for the talented wide receiver out of LSU as he squares off against one of the best corners in the last decade in Darelle Revis.

Beckham Jr., who is coming off of a 1,450 yard, 13 TD season, could play a major role in this game as he's got the best hands in the NFL and could be considered the best wide receiver in the game. This is the type of player that will take this kind of a game personal and has been effective against an aging Revis in the past. Look for Eli Manning, who will see at least 2 quarters of action, to connect with OBJ in the "Battle of New York/New Jersey".

Bounce-Back Effort For the G-Men?
It's difficult to believe that Eli Manning is 35 going on 36 years old, but it's true, and this is a guy that never get's hurt and always comes through in clutch situations. Manning will have former 1000 yard receiver, Victor Cruz, back in the lineup along with rookie Sterling Shepard. Last week was a really poor showing for the Giants as backup QB, Ryan Nassib was just 2 of 12 passing for 25 yards and the Giants offense was fairly non-existent in a 21-0 loss to the Buffalo Bills. Look for that to change this week as the importance of the game is much greater.

Matt Forte To Play In Week 3
While the New York Jets have every other key offensive position cinched up, running back, Matt Forte will be making his highly anticipated debut with the Jets. I look for Forte to come out strong as this is a player that was discarded by the Chicago Bears after having a borderline Hall of Fame career as a double-threat back. This player is a difference maker.

The Jets will be on a mission to make a statement in front of their fans. Make the Jets your pick in this matchup.

Los Angeles Rams vs Denver Broncos

Mark Sanchez vs. Paxton Lynch
Any game against the Denver Broncos defense is a tall order for any opposing team, but this is a preseason game and the Denver Broncos will really be focused on the NFL Regular Season. Case in point; Denver is coming off of a 31-24 loss to the inferior San Francisco 49'ers. In this game, one thing became clear and that is that there will be a battle for the starting quarterback position in Denver between Mark Sanchez and Paxton Lynch.

Dogfight in Denver
Last week, both quarterbacks combined for 233 yards on 25 of 43 passing, but it was Paxton Lynch who was able to navigate his team into the end zone with a passing touchdown twice; one pass to Durron Neal and the other to John Phillips.

Look for the quarterback position to played at a high level this week against the undefeated Rams as this will be a dogfight between Sanchez and Lynch for the starting QB position. Denver will also have C.J. Anderson, who is coming off of a 30 yard, 1 TD game rushing the ball and looking to improve upon a very disappointing 2015 NFL Season.

Todd Gurley
When one thinks of the Los Angeles Rams, they think of the move to Los Angeles and more importantly, 2nd year running back, Todd Gurley. Gurley is coming off of a monster rookie season and started off where he finished last season with a rushing TD last week in 21-20 victory over the Kansas City Chiefs. While Malcolm Brown (12 carries, 68 yards) led all rushers for L.A. last week, expect Gurley to see more work as the season draws nearer.

Along with Gurley, the 1st pick in the 2016 NFL Draft, quarterback Jared Goff, avenged a poor showing in week 1 and played really well against the Chiefs. Goff was 8 of 12 for 82 yards and 1 TD. Expect to also see more of Goff as he shares the quarterbacking duties with Case Keenum, who has also played well.

This isn't the regular season and Denver's defense allowed 31 points last week. 5 points is a lot to give in a preseason game; especially against the likes of Todd Gurley and the "New Los Angeles Rams". Look for Los Angeles to be competitive in this game and cover the spread.
