BookMaker.eu Puts Up Creative QB Jimmy Garoppolo Destination Props Odds
Sportsbook BookMaker posted odds on where New England Patriots backup QB Jimmy Garoppolo will end up starting the 2017 NFL regular season. Outside of the Field bet (-125), the Chicago Bears (+150) were the oddsmakers' favorites to land the coveted 25-year-old Eastern Illinois University product.
Last month, we looked at odds from BetOnline on where Dallas Cowboys backup QB Tony Romo might be next season, with the Denver Broncos (5/2) the favorites in that unique Futures market. Both Romo and Garoppolo attended EIU in Charleston.
According to Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports, the Bears—who seem to be parting with interception-prone QB Jay Cutler, creating a possible $60 million in Cap room—“will make a strong, concerted effort to acquire QB Jimmy Garoppolo from the Patriots”. Meaning that Chicago may mull dealing with its #3 overall pick in the upcoming NFL Draft on April 27-29 in Philadelphia.
Which NFL Roster Will Jimmy Garoppolo Be On To Start 2017 Season?
Chicago Bears +150
New England Patriots +250
San Francisco 49ers +1250
Cleveland Browns +1500
New York Jets +2000
Houston Texans +2500
Denver Broncos +3000
Staying Put In Beantown Or Heading Home To Chicagoland- Logical Personal Choices
The Cleveland Browns need a QB and rumors are flying but should the Buffalo Bills decide to re-sign EJ Manuel and let Tyrod Taylor go? The Browns may snatch up the former Virginia Tech product. Third odds-choice, the San Francisco 49ers who have their issues with Colin Kaepernick and Chase Daniel, but don't expect Chicago native Garoppolo to leave the Super Bowl champs to play for black-hearted owner Jed York and this now perennial losing franchise in The City By The Bay.
With HC Bill Belichick and the Patriots probably not wanting to let Garoppolo go to an AFC team, if at all, the Bears and the Windy City looks like the logical destination for the Rolling Meadows High School (Arlington Heights) product, especially with Bears GM Ryan Pace being an EIU product himself and the Bears possessing a bunch of Draft Picks they can deal.
The Patriots know they have something special and that Garoppolo's may be much more valuable than Romo, Free Agent Kirk Cousins (Redskins) or any of the top college QBs expected to be taken in the draft. And as we know, great QB's are really hard to find these days.
“There's no hurry for Belichick to part ways with Garoppolo,” respected Las Vegas handicapper Andy Iskoe opined on Pregame.com's FIRST PREVIEW Wednesday. “He's [Belichick] dealing from a position of strength. And Cleveland's dealing from a position of weakness.”
