BetFred has some nice double-chance future odds for the NFL season, that give you an opportunity to have a sort of a future odds teaser on two teams to win their particular division. I have found my two best bets that look like solid value with minimal chalk.
AFC West – Chiefs or Raiders (-150)
Easily the best bet among all these divisions is the AFC West with the Raiders and Chiefs. I do not think the Broncos will be back where they were a year ago, while the Chiefs might be the best team in the division already. The Raiders are an upstart team with a lot of value as a sleeper in this division, so with the Chargers, not an option, all we have to do is hope that the offseason losses and offensive question mark to come true in Denver and this is easy money at NFL Odds of just -150.
Derek Carr looked solid in the team's third preseason game, giving us good hope that his arm and the good young talented skill players on this offense can get quick strikes this season. With a well upgraded defense to turn the ball over, the Raiders have the ingredients to challenge for a wildcard spot this season and maybe even challenge for the division.
Kansas City's offense has looked good as well this preseason and remember, they were down their top two skill players last year and still went on a run to win 11 games in a row including their wildcard game. With Jamaal Charles and Jeremy Maclin healthy for the entire season, this team's offense and defense are easily combined for the best team in the division.
With Kansas City as the strongest team in the division, there is a chance that Oakland is the second best team in the division, making this my best double-chance play of the preseason.
NFC East – Giants or Redskins (-150)
With the injury to Tony Romo, there is no telling how Dak Prescott will perform against starting NFL defenses in the regular season. Romo could make a return early enough in the season to salvage things for the Cowboys season, but at this point in the preseason, you have to think these older NFL Odds at are now a value based on Romo's recent injury.
The Giants and Redskins represent the next two best teams and with the Cowboys and Giants and Cowboys and Redskins combos are the next highest favorites, a play on the Giants or Redskins is the logical next step. Washington could be the best team in the division even with the Romo injury, but New York could also surprise some people this season. Their offense might be one of the better ones in the league if they get their running game going, however, if the preseason is any indication, their running game might just be ignored with Ben McAdoo taking over the head coaching role.
At this point, I am in favor of either the Giants and Redskins or the Cowboys and Redskins at -120 for my NFL pick. If we get news that Romo can make his way back after missing only the first four or five games, then it's Washington and Dallas, but if not, the G-Men and Washington represent the value play.
