A Must Win Game For Liverpool

The Premier League is back at the weekend after the break for the FA Cup and the midweek fixture list starts with a cracker when struggling Liverpool host league leaders Chelsea at Anfield.

It's a crisis on Merseyside for Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp after his side have been dumped out of two cup competitions in a week and have won just once in their last seven matches.

The Reds' are surprisingly favorites for the win, in what is now a "must" win game at just 2.62 and although that looks short they did beat Chelsea 2-1 at Stamford Bridge earlier in the season and have an excellent record against the league's big boys, it's the minnows they have trouble with failing to justify odds-on favoritism in their last three matches.

Chelsea arrives in Anfield NINE points clear at the top of the table and 3.00 for the win but Antonio Conte's side may settle for a point and despite goals in their previous meetings this is expected to be tight expecting low scoring giving value to both teams to score "no".

Goals, Goals, Goals at the London Stadium

Manchester City produced their best performance of the season in a 5-0 hammering of West Ham at the London Stadium earlier in the month and they looked primed for another convincing win in the Premier League.

After a bad run of Premier League results, this is now a huge match for Manchester City who will be hoping that Liverpool can stop runaway leaders Chelsea and they get the win to get them right back in the promotion shake-up.

City is just 1.57 to get the three points and with 5-0 and 3-1 wins already this season against the Hammers' that looks a decent bet for odds-on backers.

The one thing we've come to expect when these two sides meet are goals as there have been 36 goals scored in the last ten meetings and it's not a surprise that over 2.5 goals which have been a winning wager in both matches between the pair this season looks the better bet at a nice price of -175.

Honors Even At The Bet365 Stadium

Stoke host Everton in the hardest match to call on the midweek fixture list and I am glad to see that the bookies agree with me that this is a tough one.

The home side is +180 for the win and that might look appealing but Mark Hughes' side has only won just once in their last five matches at the Bet365 Stadium and this looks one that bets should be kept to a minimum.

The visitors have been so inconsistent this season with a disappointing 2-1 home defeat to Leicester followed up with a fantastic 4-0 home win against Man City. For that reason, I couldn't trust them at the +170 on offer to win their third consecutive Premier League match.

There is very little between these two sides and when the bookies can't split teams I am always tempted by the draw and at the general +239 that is what I am leaning to in this one.

A Tight One At Old Trafford

Manchester United face Hull for the third time in the last two weeks and despite the home side being a very short -500 favorite for the win, this is going to be a lot closer than the bookies are predicting.

United beat the Tigers' 2-0 at Old Trafford in the Football League Cup 1st leg at Old Trafford but they went down 2-1 in the reverse fixture on Thursday and I've really been impressed with Hull under new manager Marco Silva.

Hull have had a decent run of results at their KC home but away from home they haven't won since October and that is something that the to change very quickly if they are to survive in the Premier League for next season.

Under the new manager, they've looked a lot more solid defensively and they held their own against United in the first half in the cup win, but the Red Devils showed their quality late on and I expect a similar performance and goals look hard to come. I will be taking the very large looking +150 on under 2.5 goals for my betting pick in this one.
