Euro Cup 2016: Best Soccer Betting Picks For Saturday

Friday, June 24, 2016 7:12 PM GMT

With three matches taking place on Saturday there is plenty of betting scope for us. I’m going to take a quick look at each of the matches and offer you a free soccer pick.

Switzerland v Poland is the first game of the day and will be kicking off at 3pm French time in Saint-Etienne. Switzerland have been quite unspectacular so far and I think this is where their competition ends. That's not to say Poland have been fantastic but they actually have a goalscorer worthy of the name and goals do win games at the end of the day.

Combine that with one of the tightest defences in the competition (they're yet to concede a goal) and suddenly the odds of 2.7 at bet365 look quite tempting. I'm going a bit safer though and will be going for the “To Qualify” market, the odds are lower but I feel more confident about the return and will take the 1.77 on offer from PaddyPower.

Wales v Northern Ireland is my game of the day and it will also feature my biggest bet of these three fixtures. I've been very impressed with Wales so far despite their loss to England and I think that their team ethic has held true so far and will continue to do so into the next round of matches.

Northern Ireland have not been great entertainment but you have to admire their pluck in this competition. I expected them to cash a soccer pick somewhere but backed the wrong game, opting to go for the Poland match and not the (slightly) more obvious Ukraine game. That one win was enough to put them through in third place and there is no shame in losing to both Poland and Germany.

The speed and direct attacking from Gareth Bale will create chances for Wales and I'm expecting that to be decisive as I back Wales for a straight win in 90 minutes. They are the favourites but at Soccer Betting Odds of 2.07 with Pinnacle I feel there is still some value there as they should come through this one.

These two sides drew the last time they met but Wales haven't tasted defeat at the hands of Northern Ireland since 1954 although we have seen 4 draws in their 8 games together.

The last game of the day takes place in Lens and has two of the biggest surprises in Euro 2016, Croatia because of their good performances, Portugal because of how average they've been.

I've thoroughly enjoyed watching Croatia play in this tournament, the same can't be said of the hours I've spent watching Portugal. The Croatian midfield has been excellent and they now stand a good chance of getting through to the final if they can deal with Portugal.

I'm splitting my money over two bets in this one, both above evens and both offering good value in my opinion. I'm going for a Croatia win over 90 minutes at odds of 2.7 with BetVictor and also Over 2.5 Goals which can be taken at 2.91 with Pinnacle.

I'm expecting a slow start on Saturday but things should definitely get interesting after that.
