Tuesday’s round of Euro 2016 features third round action in Group C and D. Join us as we preview these sections and serve up choice soccer picks to bet.

Group C: Germany vs. Northern Ireland
Die Mannschaft came under heavy criticism following their scoreless stalemate to Poland on match day 2 for their blunt attacking and punch-less frontline. But such criticism smacks disingenuous and takes attention away from two important aspects – Germany's solid defending that has produced two clean sheets in their Euro 2016 campaign thus far and Poland's solid defending against Germany as well, which also serves up two clean sheets through two rounds of group C play.

Soccer bettors would do to take the criticism with a pinch of salt. Joachim Low's side are sat at the top of the group and their fate remains in their hands in the last round of group C when they take on Northern Ireland. Buoyed though the Green and White Army may be after defeating Ukraine 2-0 on match day 2, it's another matter entirely to replicate the feat at the World Champions expense. Indeed, Germany are the massive favourites to win in match betting markets, with soccer odds of -350 up to -450 trading on the Euro 2016 odds board across various sports betting outlets. Northern Ireland, by contrast, are trading as the whopping +1200 underdogs while the draw is matched around the +450 mark.

As the soccer odds would suggest, the probability Green and White Army will strike an audible chord in this game is slim to none. It would be the upset for the ages in European Championships should they pull off the feat, make no mistake. Good story though it certainly would be, it'll take a bolder handicapper than yours truly to recommend such a bet. Best to stick to the World Champions on your soccer picks, but consider a win to nil by Die Mannschaft, which is a bet that can be backed at -125 with Paddy Power, a sensible price altogether.

Group C: Poland vs. Ukraine
Poland are tied with Germany at the top of group C standings but trailing on goal differential. Polska have yet to concede, which puts them on par with some of the competition heavyweights that include Spain, Italy and Germany, but they're been surprisingly goal-shy. Consider they have Robert Lewandowski, one goal in two matches is hardly anything to write home about.

That could all change of course against Ukraine on Tuesday given the fact that the Ukrainians are pointless and goalless in the competition after going two rounds and losing both games 2-0. They're down and practically out of the tournament and it could be over for them any sooner. With nothing to play for really they might not even put up too much resistance.

As such, a Poland win looks to be a smart bet for your soccer picks and, somewhat surprisingly, it's trading at a tempting +102 soccer odds with Heritage. Consider Poland have yet to concede in the tournament and Ukraine have yet to score, it might be worth it to tickle a win to nil, which is an even better priced bet at +210 soccer odds or thereabouts depending on your choice sportsbook.

Group D: Spain vs. Croatia
Croatia got their Euro 2016 campaign off to a bright start with a convincing win over Turkey, but the wheels came well and truly undone in a 2-2 draw with the Czech Republic on match day 2. Croatia were in the driver's seat, up 2-0 with the knockouts in touching distance. Then, an untimely let-down in the latter stages of the game coupled with the distraction of Croatian hooligans in the stands throwing flares onto the pitch conspired against Croatia and, in turn, allowed the Czech Republic to draw level. Now, Croatia are faced with their toughest test in group D, a date with two-time defending champions Spain. To see a promising Euro 2016 come to a decider against Spain, who are also the newly-minted tournament favourites, isn't ideal to say the least.

Spain kicked off their title defence campaign in fine style, reeling off two victories over Czech Republic and Turkey. They have scored four goals (1 against the Czechs and 3 against Turkey) without conceding a goal. They are poised to clinch top spot in group D with a win over Croatia, but in reality they don't need a win to advance as by winning their first two matches that business is automatically taken care off.

Still, in the interest of their title defence campaign and as the tournament favourites La Furia Rojaare sure to send a message to the rest of the field. Beating a decent Croatia would go some way towards underscoring their soccer odds as the team to beat in the competition. Spain enter as the favourites to win with prices hovering around Even money. Considering their quality, skill, depth and talent, that's just not a bet to give a miss on your soccer picks.

Group D: Czech Republic vs. Turkey
Of all the matches on the day's soccer betting card, Czech Republic vs. Turkey is one of the toughest to predict. Plus, if history tells us anything it's that it could become a dramatic showdown.

The Czechs are favoured over Turkey, but there are those that aren't buying the market outlook. In 2008, the Czech Republic fritted away a two-goal lead over Turkey in the latter stages of the match only to lose 3-2. More recently, Turkey defeated the Czechs 2-0 in European qualifying.

Both teams have struggled in the competition, but, to be fair, the Czechs have been slightly better. They were hard done by in their opener with Spain when they conceded late to lose 1-0. However, they showed brilliant resolve on match day 2 when they erased a 2-0 lead by Croatia to draw level 2-2 and resurrect their bid.

As a result, the Czechs have a realistic shot at second place providing they beat Turkey and Spain beats Croatia – you can back the Czechs to win at +145 with bet365. On the flipside, Turkey may be pointless and goalless, but a gutsy win over the Czechs could see them finish third in the group and potential secure advancement into the knockouts as one of four best third-placed teams. You can back a Turkey win at +218 with Pinnacle.

Clearly, there's incentive on both sides of the coin. As mentioned above, the Czech have been slightly better. Thus they make up our choice soccer pick in match betting markets to win in 90 minutes, but we're not betting the farm on it. Turkey can't be underestimated, which has us considering a double chance bet with either Czech or Turkey to win at -250 soccer odds.
