A Cashing Two Team Parlay On CFL Week 4

CFL Two Team Parlay

Wednesday, July 13, 2016 5:49 PM GMT

Week 4 in the CFL offers a number of close matchups with the biggest spread on the board. This weekend matchups offer great CFL betting value for my top CFL parlay play.

Last week I went with a pair of picks on the total line and cashed in my ticket. The total has slightly favored the UNDER so far this season with seven of 12 games staying below the closing line, but the real money has been on the underdogs with an incredible 10-1 record against the spread. I am going with a mix in this week's parlay CFL pick based on the total line and the point spreads at BetOnline.

Hamilton Tiger-Cats vs Montreal Alouettes
Pointspread: Montreal -1
Total Line: 47

Betting Preview
Hamilton started the season on a high note with a big road win against Toronto as an underdog, but it has slid to 2-1 both straight-up and ATS with back-to-back losses at home to British Columbia and Winnipeg as a favorite. Jeremiah Masoli continues to put up some big numbers throwing the ball in place of an injured Zach Collaros with an average of 311 passing yards a game, but the Tiger-Cats have had their issues on the other side of the ball with a defense that has allowed 76 points in three games.

The Alouettes had a bye last week after splitting their first two games both SU and ATS. They got past Winnipeg 22-14 as 2.5-point road underdogs in Week 1 before losing to Ottawa 28-13 at home in a game that closed as a PICK. The total stayed UNDER in both of those games. Kevin Glenn has got the call at quarterback and the veteran has thrown for 591 yards and two scores, but he has also been picked off twice. Of greater concern in this game is a Montreal pass defense that has allowed an average of 349 yards through the air in its first two games.

Betting Trends
The Tiger-Cats are 12-4 ATS in their last 16 road games and the total has stayed UNDER in eight of their last 11 games in Week 4 of the season.

The Alouettes are 1-4 ATS in their last five East Division games and the total has stayed UNDER in eight of their last 10 games at home.

Head-to-head in this division tilt, Hamilton has won three of the last five meetings SU, but it is just 3-7 ATS in the last 10 meetings. The total has stayed UNDER in four of the last five games.

Betting Prediction
I like Hamilton on the road as a slight underdog. The Tiger-Cats are a better team that what we have seen the past two weeks and I see them bouncing back this week against a very suspect Alouettes' defense.

British Columbia Lions vs Saskatchewan Roughriders
Pointspread: Saskatchewan -2
Total Line: 50

Betting Preview
The Lions come into this West Division clash with a 2-1 both SU and ATS. After beating Calgary at home and Hamilton on the road as underdogs, they came out flat last week in a 25-14 loss to Toronto as 6.5-point home favorites. The total stayed UNDER in all three games behind a defense that has only allowed a total of 46 points so far. Look for Travis Lulay to possibly get the start at quarterback in this game after replacing an ineffective Jonathan Jennings in last week's loss.

Saskatchewan is still looking for its first win of the season after suffering losses to Toronto at home and Edmonton on the road. Last week it took the Eskimos to overtime in a 39-36 loss to cover as a 9.5-point underdog in CFL Odds. The total went OVER 54 in that game after staying UNDER in the 30-17 loss to the Argonauts. Darian Durant is back at the helm at quarterback after an injury-plagued 2015 campaign and he has already thrown for 627 yards and five touchdowns in his first two games.

Betting Trends
The Lions are 4-1 ATS in their last five road games and the total has stayed UNDER in eight of their last 10 games in Week 4.

The Roughriders are 4-12 ATS in their last 16 games at home and the total has gone OVER in their last four West Division games.

BC has won four of the last five meetings SU and it has a 3-1-2 edge ATS in the last six games between these two division rivals. The total has stayed UNDER in seven of the last 10 meetings.

Betting Prediction
This will be a battle between the Lions' shutdown defense and Durant's ability to move the Roughriders up and down the field through the air. Past trends and current form still dictate a fairly low scoring game in my book to justify a play on the UNDER in this one.
