Twins vs. WhiteSox
The Minnesota Twins look to make it two straight over the Chicago White Sox tonight at US Cellular Field. The Twins finally found a way to solve the White Sox, but it took the team's first shutout win of the season to change the momentum in the season series. The Twins were outscored 30-9 in their first six meetings. James Shields, winless in four starts since he was acquired from San Diego, looks to quiet the Twins lineup and even the series for the White Sox when he opposes Ricky Nolasco in the second game of the three game set. The Twins have been an over machine and the White Sox have been one of the hottest hitting teams over the last week, which should make for a high scoring affair tonight in Chicago.

Betting Preview
James Shields took a step in the right direction against Boston, although it was not anything spectacular as the righty allowed three runs on five hits and four walks in five innings. Shields has given up 24 earned runs in 13 2/3 innings for the White Sox since arriving on the south side. He is 0-3 with an 18.73 ERA, a .435 opponents' batting average and a 3.31 WHIP in his last five starts.

The Twins, who have the worst record in the majors at 25-51, are 10-26 on the road. They will send Ricky Nolasco to the hill to make his 16th start of the season. Nolasco went 6 2/3 innings and allowed four runs on 10 hits and four walks against the Phillies in his last start on Thursday June 23rd. Nolasco is 1-3 with a 6.29 ERA in six career starts against the White Sox, including a loss on May 6, when he allowed seven runs in five innings. He has the tough task of trying to quiet the hot bats of the south siders who are one of the best hitting teams the last week posting a .849 team OPS the last seven days. Led by Todd Frazier's 21 home runs, which were tied for second-most in the Major Leagues, also the most in White Sox history by a third baseman prior to the All-Star break.

The White Sox are looking to win their third straight series after beating the Red Sox and Blue Jays. They must win tonight in order to keep the streak alive. The White Sox have owned the Twins this season, with wins in every matchup until yesterday while outscoring their Central Division rivals 30-13. The Twins bats have also shown signs of life with Brian Dozier extending his season high hitting streak to 10 games with a home run, the first of two on the night to lead off the second inning in the opener.

Both Shields and Nolasco are past their prime and struggling to put quality starts together. Taking into account both of these teams have two of the seven worst bullpens in all of MLB, with each posting a 1.42 WHIP to this point in the season, a high scoring run environment is expected in Chicago tonight. I recommend a wager on the over in this American League Central matchup on your MLB Picks.
