With The Rockies being pushed out of the post season, they could have some good value tonight as they face the Dodgers. Our betting expert analyzes this matchup and provides his free MLB pick.

As the Los Angeles Dodgers have now taken over the West in the National League the Colorado Rockies have slowly started to be pushed out of the playoffs. Today they meet in Colorado and although it looks like the Dodgers are the ones heading for the postseason there could be some value in backing Colorado at home. This should be one of the most entertaining games of the day.

Los Angeles Dodgers
Rich Hill gets the start for the Dodgers coming over from Oakland with a 2.09 ERA and 1.07 whip while throwing six innings of zero earned run baseball in his only outing with Los Angeles. That game was particularly noteworthy considering it was against the San Francisco Giants and Hill was fantastic allowing just five hits. He is arguably having his best season ever as a professional pitcher but was sidetracked just a bit after the All-Star break with a hand injury. It didn't seem to bother him the other night at home versus San Francisco and he looks to be an important part of the Dodgers outlook for the postseason. On the road, he has traveled well with a stunning 1.41 ERA and a 7-0 record this year along with batters hitting just .184 against him. All that being said though he hasn't pitched in Colorado in several years so he could be in for a little bit of a surprise tonight. Don't expect for him to get out of this game unscathed as Coors field is where pitchers go to die. At the plate, the Dodgers have been decent all season but they did not have a lot of success at Colorado their last series there garnering just nine runs in three games.

Colorado Rockies
Tyler Anderson takes the mound for Colorado and comes in with a 3.69 ERA and 1.20 whip but more impressively a 3.45 ERA at home. Of course batters have a decent average against him at Coors field but he has been consistent in keeping the damage to a minimum. In his only opportunity in facing the Dodgers this season he threw very well allowing just two earned runs off of six hits in seven innings at home. Although he might not have a repeat type of dominant performance I think underdog wise just looking at this aspect puts some good value on the plus money line. At the plate Colorado has been extremely good all season and rank as the best home hitting National League team in baseball, of course that is due to playing in Coors field. They're coming back from a six-game road trip but prior to that in their six games at home versus the Nationals and the Cubs, they scored six or more runs in five of those six contests.

MLB odds
Oddsmakers have come out making Colorado a decent plus money line underdog across the board. For my MLB pick I'm going to take Colorado at home in this spot like at 5Dimes +112. With a good home pitcher on the mound along with a really good offense I believe they will have every opportunity to win this game.
