And of course, Teddy and Pauly delve deep into MLB odds; offering ‘Big Game Breakdowns' of the Cubs – Dodgers and Pirates – Marlins games tonight.
But as the calendar shifts into June, Teddy and Pauly know what audiences want during the hot summer months – NFL talk, and lots of it! Over the course of the next six weeks, Teddy and Pauly will break down all 32 NFL teams – one team every day -- talking about what happened last year and what can be expected from them here in 2016. The focus is on season win totals and overall market perception.
Teddy and Pauly kick off their NFL discussion with the defending Super Bowl champs, the Denver Broncos. Last year, Denver went 12-4 SU in the regular season, but only 8-8 ATS. The Broncos were carried by their defense; 10-6 to the Under. And the Broncos were a rare Super Bowl winner with a negative turnover differential in 2015, finishing with a -4 margin. Denver had the #1 overall defense statistically, and the #16 offense, despite the fact that starting QB Peyton Manning had a 67.9 QB rating, ranked #34 out of 34 NFL QB's with enough attempts to qualify.
Teddy and Pauly talk about the two biggest issues for Denver in the offseason – finding a quarterback to replace Manning and shoring up an offensive line that underachieved in 2015. On the OL, Ryan Clady and Louis Vasquez are gone; Russel Okung and Donald Stephenson are expected to provide an upgrade following their departures.
At quarterback, Denver has major issues. They acquired Mark Sanchez, who flamed out in New York and Philly. They drafted Paxton Lynch, who from all indications is going to be a ‘project'. That leaves former 7th round draft choice Trevor Siemian as the current #1 on the Broncos depth charts. What does that mean for a team lined at 9.5 wins for the full season? Watch today's show and find out where the wmart MLB pick are tonight!
