Sports handicapper Ian Cameron provides a look at MLB Overnight Betting Lines for the games taking place on Thursday, May 19.

Colorado Rockies vs. St. Louis Cardinals
I cashed a Colorado ticket in Jonathan Gray's last start on Friday against the NY Mets as he threw 7 innings while allowing just two runs in a 5-2 Rockies win and this undervalued pitcher is absolutely worthy of betting support once again here as a solid plus price underdog facing the St. Louis Cardinals. Gray, a first round 3rd overall pick in the 2013 Draft, has been fantastic in his last three starts allowing just 4 runs on 10 hits in his last 20 innings while issuing just 4 walks and striking out 24. Let's break down the MLB odds.

Gray has been at his best on the road this season where he has compiled a 1.38 ERA in a pair of road starts this season. Michael Wacha will be on the mound for the St. Louis Cardinals and he has pitched solid but not spectacular to this point but the Cardinals have had trouble winning games with Wacha on the mound going 0-4 in his last 4 starts. Colorado has been hitting the baseball better in recent games and playing some solid baseball winners of five straight games entering Wednesday's action. This looks to be an underdog with bite and serious value on Thursday night with Colorado who will have their most promising young pitcher taking the mound.

New York Yankees vs. Oakland Athletics
Ivan Nova has been as good as the NY Yankees could have hoped for since being inserted into the starting rotation on a spot start basis with Luis Severino on the DL as Nova has allowed just 2 runs in 10.1 innings over a pair of starts against Kansas City and the Chicago White Sox. Nova should be able to pitch fairly well here against Oakland as he has allowed just 5 runs in 13.2 innings of work previously against the Athletics here in this ballpark and all that Nova needs to do is pitch his way through 5 or 6 innings and let the dominant back end of the NY Yankees bullpen take over with their power arms Dellin Betances, Andrew Miller and closer Aroldis Chapman all set up to close out the game if the Yankees hold a lead in the latter stages.

Kendall Graveman has not been able to find his footing or any sort of rhythm for the Oakland Athletics. He's been hit hard repeatedly entering this game with a 5.84 ERA and things have gotten worse for him in recent starts allowing 20 runs over his last 19.1 innings of work. Graveman has issued 6 walks and struck out just 3 in his last two outings combined. Oakland is a dismal 1-6 in Graveman's 7 starts this season and a winless 0-3 in his home starts. There haven't been many cases this season when the Yankees have deserved being favored on the road but this is one of those times and I'll side with laying the reasonable price of -120 with New York as my MLB picks to get the road victory against the slumping Graveman whose Oakland team is just 7-11 at home this season.
