MLB Wednesday Prop Betting Picks Featuring Donaldson & Chen

Josh Donaldson MLB Odds

We have been crushing out MLB Prop picks so far this season, and we easily cashed two winners lay Friday on our first two days back from the All Star Break. I am back again with two more strong plays from Bovada Sportsbook, so follow along if you like cashing tickets!

Josh Donaldson O/U 2.5 runs, hits and RBIs
Patrick Corbin is on the hill this afternoon for the Arizona Diamondbacks, and so far this season he has not been great. He has a 5.25 ERA and things likely won't get easier for the young southpaw this afternoon as the D-backs will face off against a strong Americam League offense in the Blue Jays. One of the Jays that have a great chance of beating up on Corbin is Josh Donaldson. Corbin has not been great against right-handers this season, which is one of the reasons his ERA is so bloated. Righties have a weighted on base percentage of .349 against Corbin this season, and Donaldson has been even better against lefties.

Donaldson owns a .337 batting average, a 438 wOBA and a .358 BABIP against left-handlers this season, and Corbin is not going to be immune from the Jays' outfielder in this game. Donaldson has also been hitting the ball very well post All Star Break, which along with the pitching matchup, makes him almost a must play. He is five for his last 10 at bats in his last two games. He has two runs scored and three RBI's in those two games, and since the break he is six for his last 19. With the double plus matchup against Corbin here this afternoon, I am loving the over on Donaldson's runs, hits and RBI's, especially with the -105 MLB odds offered from Bovada.

Wei-Yin Chen O/U 4.5 strikeouts
Yes, there is a Wei-Yin Chin prop available from Bovada this evening and it's actually looking like a really solid play. Chen is not much of a strikeout pitcher. However, he has not been bad getting swings and misses as of late. He has at least five strikeouts in three of his last four games, and he has one game with seven strikeouts during that stretch. Considering he is up against the Phillies, one of the most slumping offenses in the majors right now, he should have plenty of swings and misses tonight.

Philadelphia has not only been one of the worst offenses overall this season, they have been even worse against left-handed pitchers. Philly has a 23.9 percent strikeout rate as a team against left-handers.. They also have a .271 wOBA against lefties this season, which is the worst mark of any team this season.

Chen has posted 7.22 strikeouts per nine innings this season, which is also a career high if he can keep it up for the rest of the year. His strikeout rate is sitting at a cool 19.1 percent this season, and while it's lower than the league average, against a team like the Phillies, who strikeout a lot anyway, look for Chen to get five or more lunch outs tonight. Although there is some severe chalk at -165, I think that may be because the sharps are leaning towards the over for their MLB pick as well.
