Tonight's slate is filled with very competitive pitching matchups. Watch as we unlock our way to a couple of winners and profit for the bettors. Here are your MLB Picks of the Day for Tuesday.

New York Yankees at New York Mets

Yankees Looking Towards the Future
Starter, Masahiro Tanaka (7-3 ,3.16 ERA) rarely gets run support and is put in a tough spot in the 2nd game of this Subway Series as he squares off against Jacob deGrom (6-5, 2.56 ERA) and the New York Mets. deGrom also hasn't gotten a ton of run support, but by all of the trading that the Yankees have done and looking towards the future, this puts the Mets (54-51) in a better spot as they're playing for today and need to make up ground as they're 7 1/2 games behind the Washington Nationals and find themselves in 3rd place in the National League East Division.

No "Go To Guy"
Every team need's a star and where the Yankees offense is concerned, Carlos Beltran was that star. Beltran didn't want to be traded, but general manager Brian Cashman shipped Beltran to the Texas Rangers. Now, guys like Jacoby Ellsbury and Bret Gardner are forced to produce as the Yankees aren't out of the pennant race.

Yesterday night was a good start for the Bombers as they defeated the Mets 6-5 in 10 innings. Both Ellsbury and Gardner led the Yankees with 2 hits apiece and Gardner had a very big game with a double and a triple. These players are capable of being leaders as they don't have a ton of power but have top-level speed on the basepath and have also come up with huge hits in the past. The pressure is now on them along with Didi Gregorious, who is having a spectacular season (11 HR, 45 RBI, .291 BA) and had 2 RBI's last night.

Facing Jacob deGrom and newly acquired Jay Bruce will be a tall order for New York. Bruce actually leads the National League with 80 RBI to go along with 25 HR. He will make an immediate impact with the Mets and they couldn't have made a better move.

Look for the Mets to even up the series here as deGrom is a beast that's very consistent and pitching is the name of the game in tonight's contest.

Milwaukee Brewers vs San Diego Padres

Doing a "360" On Luis Perdomo
I must admit, when this season started, I referred to Luis Perdomo as "Poison Perdomo" as I thought that he didn't have an out in him. Although his record and ERA look bad at 5-4 with a 6.89 ERA, this is a pitcher that has grown on me as the season has progressed.

In his last 6 starts, he's allowed 4 runs or less and has proven to pitch at least 6 innings in most of his starts. Although he's not a world-beater, he's facing a Milwaukee Brewers team (47-57) which is really poor on the road (17-32) and leading hitter, Ryan Braun, has been out with a rib injury. Braun's status for this game is unknown at this time, but I don't expect him to be a factor if he does play.

The Padres Core Three Players
Last night, the Padres defeated the Brewers 7-3 in a feel good win. San Diego scored 5 run in the 5th inning and runs are hard to come by for this team; especially at home. Two key hitters in their lineup in Yangervis Solarte (.293, 10 HR, 42 RBI) and Will Myers (.273, 20 HR, 64 RBI) each had 2 hits and are the keys to this lineup with Matt Kemp being traded. Leadoff man, Travis Jankowski went 3 for 3 with 2 runs, 2 SB, and 2 BB. This is typical of Jankowski as he's a threat on the basepath and due to having such a good eye at the plate, he possesses a .358 OBP%.

These are the players that a weak San Diego offense will look to for production. Except for Will Myers, they're the unheralded heroes of this team. Solarte was once a New York Yankee that played in the minors leagues for years and has turned himself into a force to be reckoned with at the Major League level.

Tonight, it will be Milwaukee starter, Zach Davies (8-4, 3.59 ERA) job to hold these players in check. Davies has fared well against San Diego with, allowing just 2 runs on 3 hits in 6 1/3 innings. Davies has also won his last 3 decisions and in his last 4 starts, has allowed just 5 runs in 26 1/3 innings pitched.

Everything points to a Milwaukee victory. The two factors that bother me are their poor play on the road and the status of Ryan Braun is up in the air. I'm going to fade the Brew Crew in this spot.
