Sports handicapper Ian Cameron provides an MLB Early Lines Report for the baseball card taking place on Thursday, September 8.

Texas Rangers vs. Seattle Mariners
The Texas Rangers are on a perfect 8-0 Over the total stretch in their last 8 games with a combination of a potent lineup but erratic starting pitching that has failed to eat innings leading to a taxed and at times ineffective bullpen in the latter stages of games. Those are all elements that could continue here and lead to another high scoring affair on Thursday night as the Rangers take on the Mariners. Derek Holland has pitched well in three consecutive starts but has not gone deeper than 6 innings in any of those outings and it's worth noting he allowed 5 runs in just 5 innings in his last start against Seattle. The Rangers bullpen has logged a lot of innings recently thanks to a stretch of 11 straight games in which Texas starters have not recorded an out past the 6th inning.

That has left the Texas bullpen fatigued and much less effective in the latter innings and should open the door for Seattle to capitalize on it offensively here. On the flip side, Texas and their red-hot bats are poised to hit Taijuan Walker hard in this game. Walker has not pitched well since rejoining the Seattle rotation getting hammered for 14 runs on 16 hits in his last 13.2 innings of work and the Mariners bullpen behind him is not a pitching unit of strength either for this team so the red hot Rangers bats should have a very good chance of keeping it rolling in this game. I expect runs in bunches from both teams making Over the total my MLB pick and extending the Over streak to 8-1 in the last 9 meetings between Texas and Seattle.
