LSU Tigers players in action

In closing this contrary selection, I need to go no further than last week’s public thinking on Tennessee. Could that be today’s final in this game?  Forewarned is forearmed! Join us for the contrary play of the week to add to your NCAAF picks.

2016 Football Selections on this site continue their solid start. Through Wednesday, September 14th, NFL selections are 6-2 ATS, while College selections are 10-5 ATS. That is good for a combined mark of 16-7 ATS (70%) winners! Although selections may not continue at that torrid pace throughout the season, I assure you that, if you follow the advice embedded in my analyses this season, you will have a better chance to succeed in the point spread wars. Always remember to shop for value and to use the valuable resources at this site to put every edge in your favor this football season.

Looking for the Contrary Favorite Play of the Week? Look no further than these LSU Bengal Tigers, who have been battered and bruised by the media and public perception since last season. Those who follow the Bengals will note that 12th year HC Miles threatened to quit when public perception turned against him after a 0-3 SU ATS late season slide against Alabama, Arkansas and Ole Miss, when his Tigers were outscored by a combined 99-47. Well it hasn't gotten any better this year! With 17 RS and a Top 10 experienced team, LSU was slated to challenge Alabama in the SEC West and if successful, be the NCAAF odds on favorite for the National Title. Again showing a lack of offensive creativity, LSU traveled to Lambeau Field for their season opener against Wisconsin. When the dust cleared, LSU was a 16-14 loser and only put up 257 yards as a double-digit favorite. Last week's performance, at home against a decent Jacksonville St. team, was equally inept. Despite winning 34-13 (as 28 point home chalk) the stat sheet showed a meager 371-370 edge. Now, they come a 2 TD favorite in a SEC West game against a rival Miss St. team, whom they could defeat just 21-19 last year and to whom they lost (34-29) in 2014.

Final Analysis
It will be a short leap for the public to grab this double digit division dog. After all, the Bulldogs were clearly in control wire-to-wire in our 4% LTS play on Mississippi St., who was a LONE RANGER winner on this site last week. The final score was worse than the 27-14 when Mississippi St. had a 485-243 yardage edge. 8th year Mississippi St. HC Mullen has been solid in this role, posting a 6-3 ATS mark as conference visitor the last 3 years.
