09.05.2008 (07:16 PM CST)HeroesCasino enters the SBR rating guide at C. Heroes is owned by one of the former owners of
OasisCasino (SBR rating C+). OasisCasino was sold to
WWTS (SBR rating C+) for $9.8 million
in
July of 2006 before
Bodog (SBR rating C) acquired WWTS in October of that same year. Like Oasis, Heroes is located in Willemstad Curacao. Unlike
Oasis, Heroes is booking on a -105
reduced juice lineset. Ownership also tells SBR that Heroes management has not worked under Oasis and will not confiscate earned, or partially earned, bonuses as Oasis management did on two occasions in 2005. SBR will monitor the new book and its policies. As with all new sportsbooks, players planning to play are advised to proceed with caution and are asked to send all feedback to
SBR.

07.12.2006 (07:28 PM CST)WWTS (SBR rating A+), acquires Oasis (SBR rating D+) for $9.8 million. WWTS management has already stated that it will pay over $4,000 to former Oasis players who filed confiscation complaints with SBR. The treatment to unwanted players in 2005 was largely responsible for the book’s rating to fall from B- to D+. Oasis was successfully migrated from Curacao to Betcorp’s servers in Antigua and will be reevaluated.

11.08.2005 (02:36 PM CST)Oasis (SBR rating C-) steals portion of player balance. The sportsbook has decided to terminate relationship with winning player, but instead of paying him in full, the book is deducting funds in the amount of $1,000 of already-earned bonuses and retroactively charging him fees for Neteller deposits for the life of his account. These fees amount to $780. Wilson, Oasis’ Client Services Manager, agrees that this player did not violate any rules and that the possibility of sticking players with fees should be noted on the website. Currently Oasis lists free Neteller deposits as an incentive and there is no mention of the potential for these fees to be passed on to the player at a later date.

"Just got a recorded call from Oasis Sportsbook ... some radio DJ-type voice screaming at me about the Pitt-Rutgers game tonight ... screaming out the line and total ... yelling at me that if I join now that I can move the line 3 points either way ... all I have to do is "Press 1 NOW!" ... geez ... are these guys hurting that bad? I’ve never in my life had an account with these XXXXX, so how did they get my phone number?"
B+ rated First Fidelity is also guilty of targeting potential players with these taped sales pitches. Fidelity’s aggressive marketing tactics is the primary reason the book has not achieved a rating beyond B+.
09.19.2005 (12:42 PM CST)Oasis receives further downgrade from C+ to C- due to unjust bonus confiscation. SBR has received valid complaints from players who have had their reload bonuses revoked when nearing completion of the roll-over requirement.

09.12.2005 (12:07 PM CST)Oasis (SBR rating C+) resolves dispute over bonus confiscation, reported 7/26/05. Oasis has agreed to prorate the bonus according to the percentage of the roll-over requirement completed by the player before he was asked to leave. Oasis does not welcome professional play and had terminated the relationship with the player after he had begun investing in the bonus incentive.
07.26.2005 (03:48 PM CST)Oasis downgraded from B- to C+ due to unjust bonus confiscation. Management had recently assured SBR that they have adopted new player-friendly policies and would not be confiscating bonuses from ’sharp’ players they no longer wish to service. Oasis stated that players would receive a prorated percentage of the bonus, had the player not completed the requirements of the bonus agreement when the book chose to part ways. SBR finds it unacceptable for sportsbooks to choose who is allowed to keep the bonus incentive after the player commits to the investment by giving the book his action.
