are only two weeks of the regular season remaining, and the next few weeks are
going to do a lot to decide what the playoff seeds end up being. Right now no
team has clinched a division, but that will change after this week. These
updated future odds are courtesy of 5Dimes, and they are all to win the NFC.
Hawks need only one more win to capture not only the NFC West, but the top seed
in the NFC as well. They play host to the Cardinals this week, and although
that is going to be a tough game, the good news for Seattle is Larry Fitzgerald
has a concussion, and Cason Palmer, a sprained ankle. Seattle is a -10 favorite
in the NFL Odds this week, and I expect them to walk away with the NFC West crown.
Their price to win the NFC is also not bad considering how good they have
looked, and how dominant they have been at home.
Saints took a dive this past week after losing on the road to the Rams, however
they still have the 2nd best future odds to win the NFC. The Saints
are only 1-6 ATS on the road this season, and even if they do get a bye, they
might eventually have to go to Seattle. Plus there is no guarantee they hang
onto the NFC South. The Panthers have the same record and play the Saints this
week in Carolina. The Saints are a big bull market right now.
is a team with value right now, it’s the 49ers, who right now are 5/1 to win
the NFC. They are finally healthy on offense with Michael Crabtree back, and
their defense is looking good. Even though they’ll probably be a wild card
team, there is definite value with the NFC champs from last season.
talking myself out of thinking the Panthers have a chance to get to the Super
Bowl, however they are looking more real by the minute. They also get a chance
to take a one game lead with one game to go this week as they face off against
the Saints at home. I guess we’ll just have to wait and see on Carolina.
the Panthers there is a big drop off, and with the Eagles’ loss to the Vikings,
I could see it dropping off even more. While they are almost assured the NFC
East after the Cowboys blew their game against the Packers, even so, they will
likely have to play either the Panthers or 49ers in the first round if
everything holds, and that is not an easy proposition, even at home.
A lot of
what happens to these NFL Odds depends on what happens tonight, however at
20/1, the Lions are pretty fairly priced. Their pass defense is awful, and with
Jay Cutler back and Aaron Rodgers nearing a return, the last three games for
the Lions are not easy. Their chances of making the playoffs ride a lot on this
game, because after this they play only the Giants and Vikings.
did wonders for their situation beating the Browns on the road, and now they
are at least for the time being, the leader in the NFC North. Chicago arguably
has the toughest road remaining, as they play in Philadelphia in Week 16, and
then they close the season against the Packers. Now you see why even though
they are not the best team, the Lions have the best shot at winning the
division, and the best odds. Take them into consideration for your NFL picks.
though the Packers won in Week 15, and even though Rodgers may play in Week 16,
the Packers and Bears both need Detroit to lose against the Ravens. However it
might be too little too late for Green Bay. They are 7-6-1 SU, and because of
the tie, they absolutely need Detroit to lose tonight, and to beat Chicago no
matter what in Week 17. It’s a long shot right now in a crowded NFC.
pretty much put one nail in their coffin this past week after blowing it
against the Packers, and I don’t know if I’m ready for an entire offseason of
Cowboys banter. Dallas is currently a game back of the Eagles, however they
play one another in Week 17, and as long as Dallas doesn’t lose against the
Redskins in Washington, they give themselves a chance to win and get in at home
in Week 17. However that game in Washington is going to be no cakewalk.
of the division they play in, the Cards probably won’t make the playoffs. They
are injured with Carson Palmer and Larry Fitzgerald, and they play Seattle on
the road this week, and San Francisco at home in Week 17. Even though I did
love the value, the clock might have struck midnight for this Cinderella, even
though they edged out a win in Tennessee.
