02.08.2012 09:12 AMIndustry news update (video)
SBR Forum video analyst Peter Loshak breaks down the latest
sportsbook industry news in the below piece:
21KBet (SBR rating D-) players have submitted 28
payment complaints. The players are owed €28,342. Most of the players are waiting for payouts via Moneybookers, while some are hoping for bank transfer and Paypal.
21KBet has gone dark in its communication with SBR, and provides only generic updates to players. The sportsbook has largely blamed Moneybookers for the delays. SBR received a statement from Moneybookers that clarified 21KBet is not a registered gaming merchant, and that it would look into the user complaints. 21KBet offered 100% bonuses to lure in players, and appears to be uninterested in righting the ship. The last known payment was €670 last month to a player by bank transfer. 21KBet remains on SBR's
sportsbook blacklist.
WSEX Sportsbook (SBR rating D-) is now more than
$700,000 behind on payments. The troubled sportsbook has seen its player debt increase each month, as users continue to file complaints against the once well-regarded outfit.
WSEX is still pinning the blame on procesors and the US climate for the delays, although most people by now recognize that the sportsbook is simply not making enough money to pay all of its players, and is either unwilling or unable to clear the debts out of pocket. WSEX is in a state that is referred to as "operating on the float" - that is, only releasing payments once more deposits come in. Based on the amount of payments that are being reported, the indication is that not many deposits are rolling in for WSEX. WSEX is still working email to try to bring in new clients, launching different casino promos and creating the impression that all is well with the Antiguan bookmaker. WSEX players have been waiting as far back as October of 2009 in some cases.
In a refreshing bit of good news, SBR reported that the
DGS casino was certified as fair by renowned company Jacobson Gaming LLC. Headquartered in San Jose, Costa Rica, DGS is one of the industry's most widely used software. Jacobson Gaming, which is run by Dr. Eliot Jacobson, PhD, extensively tested the random number generator used in DGS games. DGS successfully passed the auditing process, which includes game fairness tests, RNG and statistical testing.

02.07.2012 10:24 AM12Bet enforces unfair bonus rules12Bet Sportsbook (SBR rating D-) is the subject of dispute analyst Justin7's "Are You Serious?" video segment.
12Bet Sportsbook is enforcing an unethical rule that allows for the confiscation of bonus + winnings, if a bettor fails to meet rollover in a 30-day period. One such player wrote SBR, detailing that he deposited €1200 for a €230 bonus; the player won €5186, but did not meet the rollover in a one-month timeframe. 12Bet voided the bonus and all winnings.
12Bet's rules also state that wagers placed at odds less than 2.00 (+100) do not count toward rollover. A 12Bet player who would have met rollover (counting favourites) had €3252 in winnings confiscated for not having met rollover soon enough.
A third 12Bet player wrote SBR with a wagering complaint. The player placed a soccer match at odds of 1.77 (-129) and noticed that the next day his ticket was adjusted to read 2.77 (+177). Following the settlement of the wager, 12Bet voided the play.
12Bet's unusual rules are often referred to as "gotcha" rules. These rules are designed to profit from players that unknowingly agree to bizarre and irregular terms. In contract law, such enforcements are rarely upheld. 12Bet has been assessed with an opening rating of D-, and is indexed on the SBR blacklist.
Players with feedback or grievances should file a sportsbook complaint form, or write to SBR directly at help@sportsbookreview.com. Additionally, players may dial 1-830-255-4677 to speak with a dispute analyst.
02.07.2012 08:16 AMUnibet to acquire BetchoiceUnibet (SBR rating B-) Sportsbook has signed an agreement to acquire Betchoice. Unibet will enter the regulated Australian betting market. Unibet's acquisition price is £13.6 million; the deal, which transfers 100% of Betchoice Corporation Pty Ltd.'s shares, is said not to contain any liabilities. Completion of the deal is still subject to approval by the Northern Territory regular; this process is expected to be completed before the end of Q2 2012.
Unibet intends to completely rebrand BetChoice to Unibet following what they refer to as a "short transition period". Unibet CEO Henrik Tjärnström spoke of the acquisition in an official company press release distributed this morning.
Unibet CEO Henrik Tjärnström: “This strategic acquisition gives Unibet immediate access to the regulated Australian market, which is currently open to sports betting and horse racing. We intend to rebrand the business quickly to Unibet. Betchoice already has a strong offering and market position in horse racing and through Kambi, Unibet has the opportunity to enhance the quality and performance of Betchoice’s sports betting offering and so to deliver revenue growth and margin improvements... In addition to benefit from the already existing Australian product offering, the acquisition of Betchoice will provide Unibet with a platform to facilitate other gambling services and opportunities should market conditions continue to improve.”
SBR expects Unibet to refine its standards of enforcing house rules as they enter a regulated Australian market. Though Unibet is licensed by the Lotteries and Gaming Authority (LGA) of Malta; SBR has found that operators prefer Malta for its lax positions on player disputes and the ease of setting up shop. Unibet's operating procedure has until this point been to cut off communications with a player determined to be in violation of house rules, and has not been willing to fully satisfy SBR's inquiries in regards to player confiscations, such as in this
sportsbook dispute reported in December of 2011.
SBR will attempt to revisit outstanding claims with Unibet, hoping that the company's recent good news will compel it to more satisfactorily address player disputes. |

02.05.2012 07:32 AMBlacklisted sportsbook 21KBet now slow-paying 28 players21KBet Sportsbook (SBR rating D-) now has 28 slow-pays on file. Players are owed €28,342.
21KBet claims to be headquartered in Malta. SBR has confirmed that the sportsbook does not hold a license from the Lotteries and Gaming Authority (LGA). The LGA itself categorically denied that the slow-pay outfit held a license, after 21KBet displayed a seal on its website.
21KBet is refusing to address the payment issues. The sportsbook has made wild accusations that Moneybookers is the reason that players (even those who used bank transfer or Paypal) are not receiving payment. Moneybookers spoke with SBR to deny that that the sportsbook was a gaming merchant. SBR notes that even if 21KBet has used its outgoing transfer limit as a MB business account, it would still be free to withdraw its balance and immediately make payment to players an alternate way. The last confirmed payment from a 21KBet was a €670 bank transfer.
On January 16th, dispute analyst "Justin7" made a video report concerning 21Kbet:
21KBet is indexed on the SBR
scam sportsbook blacklist, and is to be avoided.

On September 5th, SBR

GTBets (SBR rating C) would honor all VIP group players' balances. GTBets is a new Curacao based bookmaker managed by former VIP managers and using the VIP servers and software. The sportsbook mirroring VIP is an attempt to capitalize on the good name the brand once held. SBR has confirmed that GTBets has honored more than $35,000 in payments, which was believed to be all outstanding requests. SBR will speak with management concerning the $500 botched check withdrawal.

On January 16th, SBR

01.24.2012 04:26 PMWSEX Sportsbook statementWSEX (SBR rating D-) Sportsbook released the following statement concerning the $700,000+ in funds owed to players:
WSEX Sportsbook: I understand you would like to receive your outstanding payments in a swift manner. However, as I have been explaining to all clients, due to the losses we encountered, payments will be done partially for a few more months. Clients who deposited funds with us in the past were all lost due to new gaming /banking laws in the US. It is now our responsibility to bounce back from these losses and pay our clients. We have dedicated staff at World Sports for 10 years and over. Regardless of the fact that you do not receive a withdrawal every month, you will receive something from us not exceeding 3 months. I will keep your name noted to receive a withdrawal by February 2012 for at least a portion of your request. This will be right after the super bowl. We will have a remainder for March, April and so forth. I do anticipate this back log to be completed by the new season of September 2012.
WSEX continues to shift blame for their financial troubles on US banking laws. The sportsbook has withdrawn itself from discussions with SBR. SBR has reports from 129 users owed $747,802. The average amount owed each player is $5,842. Players have been waiting for their funds since as early as October of 2009, making the sportsbook's claim that clients will not wait longer than three months both irresponsible and inaccurate. Players in need of WSEX sportsbook assistance are asked to fill out a sportsbook
complaint form. Alternatively, players may reach Sportsbook Review by writing to

The player expected his wagers to be voided, as the outcome of the conference championship weekend eliminated Baltimore and San Francisco from the playoffs. He claims to have placed the same future Super Bowl match bets elsewhere, and claims that he was credited his wager amounts back since the teams he bet on would not actually play in the game.
The sportsbook's positionA Sportsbetting.com representative advised the player that since the teams he wagered on will not be playing, that his wagers would be graded as losses following the Super Bowl.
SBR is following up with Sportsbetting.com management to confirm the accuracy of the sportsbook rep's statement. Players that also wagered these Super Bowl bet types are advised to

BetOnBet, which used OM's software, was a slow-pay sportsbook that went off-line without paying players. Oddsmatrix's COO stated that they were never in control of BetOnBet player funds. The Linx Media Group—who also went off-line—was reportedly responsible for BetOnBet's payment processing.
GR88's website displays a Kahnawake Gaming Commission emblem; deceptive as it is the Merge Gaming network which holds the license, not the GR88 gaming company. GR88 itself claims to be operated by Olympian Trading Limited, a company incorporated in Curacao.
SBR will speak with OddsMatrix management to confirm the extent of the business relationship with GR88.
01.12.2012 01:51 PMVIP Sports player never paid balanceOn 15 July 2011, SBR reported that VIP Sports (SBR rating B-) would close its doors. The Curacao based bookmaker announced that as of August 1st it would no longer be in business.
VIP, along with sister sportsbooks Nine.com and BetGameDay.com instructed players to withdraw their funds by that time. Many seasonal players were taken by surprise when logging on for football season and realizing that the VIP brands were defunct. SBR exhausted all avenues in contacting former VIP personnel and eventually procured a
statement that players would be paid.
GTBets.com (SBR rating C) surfaced the same week, using the same website skin, web server and telephone number as VIP Sports. SBR interviewed GTBets.com and learned that the sportsbook acquired the VIP software, hardware and retained key management. GTBets.com attempted to
solicit VIP's former clients into depositing; an attempt to capitalize on the brand and kickstart its own business venture.
GTBets.com later agreed to pay VIP Sportsbook, BetGameday and Nine.com players that did not request their funds prior to the 1 August 2011 deadline. A total of $45,995 was owed to players and reportedly paid. GTBets assured SBR that it had attempted to contact all players that held unpaid balances with the VIP brands.
SBR has received a new complaint from a player that states he was never paid a $1,590 balance. SBR is contacting GTBets management to discuss the player's claim. VIP Sports players in need of assistance should submit a
sportsbook complaint form, or write to SBR directly at
help@sportsbookreview.com.
UPDATE 26 Jan 2012: The player's deposit ($1,590) was made in November of 2009. The player does not recall wagering with the sportsbook, and has no further information to document that a balance was maintained at VIP. SBR has asked the player to provide more information, and considers this matter closed.

01.11.2012 05:49 PMScam alert: 21KBet Sportsbook21KBet (SBR rating D-) is misleading players by claiming to be licensed by the Lotteries and Gaming Authority (LGA) of Malta. No such license exists. The LGA released a statement indicating that
21KBet has no connection whatsoever to the LGA. The 21KBet website claims to be headquartered in Malta. SBR has received forwarded emails from a 21KBet manager that went so far as to produce a bogus LGA registration number. The emails targeted players for deposits.
Nineteen players have reported not being paid. Fourteen of the players deposited to 21KBet via Moneybookers. These players' balances total €20,192. SBR reported on 4 January 2012 that
21KBet blamed Moneybookers for the eWallet delays, stating that it had no access to deposited funds. Moneybookers released a statement to SBR denying that 21KBet was an authorized merchant. 21KBet used a personal Moneybookers account to receive player deposits. Six players deposited with the sportsbook by bank transfer. One player confirmed being paid €670. 21KBet refused to pay the others, claiming player fraud.

reported that management would attempt to fast-track payment for a player also waiting longer than advertised.
Sportsbook.com moved their non-US players to Global.Sportsbook.com, an operation headquartered in Malta; one that is managed by YouWin Ltd. SBR
reported on 28 September 2011 that players with pending wagers had their bets cancelled, an unethical decision that caused a great deal of criticism. Sportsbook.com later redacted its initial letter to players with a few conditions. Sportsbook.com's US operation is based in Costa Rica.

01.10.2012 10:02 AMWSEX Sportsbook updateThree WSEX (SBR rating D-) players report payment. Two players received partial payments ($500 toward $1,100, $700 toward $8,000) from requests made in January and August 2011 respectively. A third player confirmed receivement payment in full ($244) on a payout request dated 8 February 2011.
WSEX player: I wanted to report that after almost one year, WSEX finally paid me the $244 they owed me yesterday by {P2P method}. So, maybe there's hope for the others who are still owed money.
WSEX is still blaming processors and the US banking climate for the extreme delays. The following generic statement was provided to a player that's been waiting since April 2011 for $1,979:
WSEX Sportsbook: "We acknowledge that in a previous conversation, either verbally or written, you were promised every effort to have your entire or part of your withdrawal shipped to you by ending of the year. While the lack of processing companies and US corresponding banks continue to be the dominant factors for our delayed processing, we will continue through out the next few months to accomplish all the clients who were not addressed during the past couple of months.
Every month commencing January 2012, a maximum value of checks as specified by our financial personnel, will be processed. Once a payment is completed for you, an email notification will be sent, allowing you sufficient time to make arrangements for the courier delivery. At this time, I wish to thank you for your continued correspondence and the patience you have extended throughout these challenging times. Our customer support will always be available to address any further queries. Again, I cannot apologize enough for the continued delays and the grave inconvenience caused to you."WSEX is currently slow-paying 123 players $738,852. The player waiting the longest requested €313 on 12 December 2011. GetWin allegedly quoted the player a two to five business day time-frame to receive his withdrawal. All three of the players claim that GetWin is not responding to their payout inquiries. SBR is following up on these complaints.
On 14 December 2011, SBR
reported that GetWin Sportsbook was attempting to turn the corner. The Malta-based sportsbook originally debuted in the SBR ratings guide at D-.
GetWin players filed complaints regarding confiscations made in the name of "organized betting". The sportsbook claimed that players were guilty of collectively pooling funds to circumvent limits and other account sanctions. GetWin released a
statement to that effect on 31 May 2011. The majority of affected players had their accounts reopened. GetWin never fully satisfied SBR's requests. The sportsbook managed to make it through the summer with no additional complaints and was subsequently removed from the

WSEX, the D- rated sportsbook that SBR reported owes more than 110 players, is no longer communicating with SBR. WSEX' debt to players is $658,578. 01.04.2012 12:27 PM21KBet slow-pays update21KBet (SBR rating D-) is currently not paying players that deposited via Moneybookers. In an unusual twist, 21KBet pins the blame on Moneybookers by claiming that the eWallet service "does not pay" deposited funds. The most bizarre aspect of 21KBet's assertions is that funds sent by a user to their Moneybookers account is immediately available in their balance. The sportsbook is suggesting that it cannot withdraw those deposits to an off-line bank account - another matter entirely, one that players are not responsible for.
SBR followed up with Moneybookers, who stated that
21KBet is not a registered gaming merchant and that it was investigating on its own the player reports of no-pay. Nevertheless, both personal and business accounts are able to receive and send funds through the Moneybookers platform. The advantages of being a registered gaming merchant is to not have any outgoing transfer limits; the distinction is not relevant in this case, as neither party has suggested a transfer limit has been reached.
21KBet: Moneybookers does not pay us money players
deposited 21kbet therefore can not pay players who have deposited by
Moneybookers, if within 15 days Moneybookers does not solve the problem,
we will have to return the money deposited to the players who have

The sportsbook claims the player was made aware of the details - the player denies receiving any explanation from MyBet on the funds confiscation.
This is the fourth open dispute against
MyBet for confiscation of player balances. In each case, MyBet has failed to offer evidence of wrongdoing to the players involved or SBR. Most recently, SBR
reported on 21 November 2011 that a player had an €80 deposit refunded and more than €300 in winnings voided.

12.26.2011 01:43 AMBetPhoenix player submits bonus disputeUpdate: BetPhoenix restored the player's wagering limits to a reasonable amount. The matter is considered resolved.
A BetPhoenix (SBR rating C) player writes in with a bonus dispute. The player tells SBR that he deposited $10,000 and received a $3,000 bonus. He claims to have rolled over approximately $77,000 of the required $208,000. After logging into his account to place an NBA wager, the player noticed that
BetPhoenix cut his limits to $50 max. SBR will ask the sportsbook to either cut the player loose (paying all winnings + prorated bonus amount) or to restore reasonable limits on the account for completion of the rollover. SBR will update this report.
BetPhoenix player: I logged into my BetPhoenix account to day to bet NBA now that the season is underway again and I saw that my account had been limited to $50 a bet. I have currently done about 77k of the 208k rollover which needs to be done in order for me to clear the bonus that I got when I first signed up about a year ago on the recommendation of a friend of mine who I met at the local casino. There is no way that I can complete the rollover reasonably at $50 a bet so I am asking if they will allow me to get pro-rata on the bonus that I have earned so far and send me the remainder of my balance back to me. I read over the SBR forums on the recommendation of my mate and I see that this is often the way that these disputes have been handled. Would you please consider contacting BetPhoenix on my behalf and asking them if they would do this? I think it would be fair to both them and myself.
The bonus I was issued was $3000 and I originally deposited $10k but have made a bit of profit since I first deposited - maybe that's why they limited me to $50 per bet. Maybe you could ask them to give me $1110 of it, which is the amount that I have earned so far (37% of $3000) and ask them to send the remainder of my balance back to me? My current balance is $21,689.61 so perhaps you could ask them to send me $19799.61 of it back, which would include my balance of $18689.61 plus the pro-rata amount of $1110 for the bonus that I have done so far.

The player alleges that he held a balance of €865 with BetAtHome. SBR is following up on this sportsbook complaint.
On November 14th, SBR

The player in that dispute claimed to have operated a BetAtHome sportsbook account for more than one year, making multiple deposits and redeeming numerous bonus offers. BetAtHome alleged that the player's ID appeared to be fraudulent, however BAH was unwilling to discuss the dispute further citing data protection. WSEX was continuing to provide generic updates with promises of making good. WSEX management has again withdrawn from regular updates with SBR dispute analysts. SBR asks all sportsbook players that have not done so to write to

WSEX Sportsbook to player: Thank you for your query and again I apologize for any delays in correspondence. We are continuing payments to clients during this month. I will most definitely do my best to have your payment out by Christmas. Unfortunately, to clear up this back log, which existed for over a year now; will take into February 2012 for some clients. The lost of major accounts and lack of new processing companies continue to be the major contributing factor for this ongoing delay. Again, I understand the inconvenience caused to you and sincerely apologize for this extensive delay.
12.22.2011 08:42 AMElection odds: Romney the favorite for Republican nomination in 2012Yahoo Politics forecasts that Mitt Romney has a 65.6% likelihood of victory in the 2012 Republican primary. Fellow candidates Newt Gingrich's chances are declining, while candidates Ron Paul and Jon Huntsman have failed to gain steam. Mitt Romney's chances are attributed to his popularity in Iowa; a key state in determining who will ultimately receive the Republican nomination for President. Yahoo's figures are helped by prediction market data supplied by
Betfair (SBR rating A-). Curacao based bookmaker
Pinnacle Sports (SBR rating A+) has Mitt Romney as better than a 2 to 1 favorite (-221) to receive the nomination, while Canadian bookmaker
Bovada.lv (SBR rating A) has Romney at -200.
To win the Republican nomination
- Pinnacle Sports: Romney -221
- Bovada.lv: Romney -200 | Gingrich +450 | Paul +700 | Huntsman +1400
- SBR Points Sportsbook: Romney -250 | Gingrich +500 | Paul +800 | Huntsman +1350
Yahoo Politics:
Gingrich's decline in Iowa is persistent and sharp, his possible routes
to the Republican nomination increasingly limited. He has trailed Paul
or Romney in each of the last 4 polls of Iowa voters (Rasmussen, ISU, PPP, Insider Advantage);
in the last 2 polls, he trails both of them by a sizable margin.
Contrast that with how things looked on December 12: prediction markets
had Gingrich's likelihood of winning Iowa near 60 percent.

In a HT/FT bet, a team must win both the first half and the game. In the player's wager, the team he backed won the first half, lost the second half and won the game. When the punter noticed he was credited a loss instead of a win, he contacted the sportsbook to settle the market properly, but Bet770 refused to acknowledge the error.

12.16.2011 01:40 PMTitanBet reinstates voided wagers for two playersTitanBet (SBR rating C)
has reinstated the winning wagers of two players that had their bets voided. SBR first
reported on November 28th that
TitanBet was alleged to be voiding bets when the line moves against them. Nine players filed
sportsbook disputes through SBR stating the practice affected them. TitanBet released the following statement to a player today:
TitanBet: This bet has been found that the bet was considered as wrongly priced however further investigations revealed that the price was valid, and so was your bet. We have now credited your account with €127.00 as this is the net win amount you were to receive from this bet. We have thoroughly reviewed your account and found only one more disqualified bet on Tennis which was disqualified rightly as one of the players retired. We would like to apologize for the misunderstanding occurred and the inconvenience caused.
Though TitanBet refuses to discuss player specifics with SBR citing privacy policy, SBR is hopeful that the remaining seven players will receive credit for any winnings which were prevented by TitanBet's heavy-handed cancellations. SBR will update this report.

12.15.2011 05:16 PMBetClic solicits losing player as VIP, then limits to €5 after €2,500 depositA BetClic (SBR rating D+) player writes in with an account dispute. The player signed up with BetClic, lost €700 within a week and then received a mailer indicating that he was well on his way to becoming a "VIP" player. The player claims that the email solicited another deposit. The player reloaded €2,500 into the sportsbook and noticed that after attempting to make one bet that his limits had been cut to €5 maximum. In his previous activity with the sportsbook, the player noted that he was able to wager for €500 on a single game.
The player tells SBR that
BetClic will only allow him to withdraw his €2,500 if he pays a fee. The player argues that he was solicited as a VIP customer , followed through with a deposit and immediately limited. The player had hoped to gain VIP status with BetClic for additional bonuses and perks.
SBR is asking that BetClic either waive his rollover, restore his wagering limits or waive the withdrawal fee.

12.14.2011 01:28 PMGetWin Sportsbook attempts to turn the cornerGetWin (SBR rating C-) is a Malta-based sportsbook that has been online since November 25th, 2010. GetWin debuted in the
sportsbook ratings guide at D-, as SBR received a number of complaints involving confiscations made from allegedly related players. The players were determined to be guilty of "organized betting", or collectively pooling funds to circumvent limits. SBR released a
video warning against GetWin on April 29th, 2011. A full month later, after numerous emails were exchanged with SBR and the involvement of the Lotteries and Gaming (LGA) of Malta, GetWin released a
statement on the account confiscations. The majority of closed accounts were reopened and cleared for payment, whilst a small percentage of affected players were alleged to have violated the sportsbook's rules. SBR considered the matter resolved at that time, but cautioned players that the sportsbook's decision to revisit the complaints could have been aided by pressure from the public, SBR and the LGA.
After making it through the summer with no additional sportsbook complaints,
GetWin was removed from the SBR
scam sportsbook blacklist and assessed with a rating of D+. In the following months, GetWin revamped its terms and conditions and entirely removed the line pertaining to ambiguous/suspicious bets. GetWin tells SBR that they are working to improve their system and rules to be more secure and convenient for players. GetWin conceded mishandling the confiscation complaints earlier in the year and provided an outlet for SBR to discuss future issues with. GetWin's sportsbook rating has been increased from D+ to C-.

12.13.2011 04:06 PMTitanBet voids player's football wagersA ninth TitanBet (SBR rating C) player reports that his wagers have been voided. The TitanBet player states that he wagers primarily on Asian handicap markets, and that a number of bets placed on Stoke City F.C. have been voided. The player states that he was informed the market had changed.
TitanBet has recently made headlines by continuing to unfairly void wagers when the line move againsts them. The unethical act is commonly referred to as "falling asleep at the wheel". TitanBet has referred players to their terms and conditions which cover the accuracy of odds in a general sense. TitanBet management has refused to discuss the player complaints with SBR by citing privacy policy. SBR has pointed out that players who file electronic sportsbook complaint forms authorise SBR to hear otherwise private, account-related details. TitanBet's
sportsbook rating was lowered to C on December 2nd, 2011.

12.12.2011 03:38 PMBetGrizzly payout feedback wantedUPDATE: The player reports receiving payment, stating that confusion on how to verify his payout led to him filing his sportsbook complaint.A BetGrizzly (SBR rating D) player reports that he requested a $250 withdrawal on December 7th, 2011. The player was told by manager "Chuck" that funds would be paid via a P2P method the following day. The player states that despite
BetGrizzly advertising quick payments via that method, he has been unsuccessful in his attempts to receive a hard confirmation on his withdrawal status. The player states that BetGrizzly has also yet to deduct the funds from his balance.
On November 22nd, SBR
reported that a
BetGrizzly dispute originally covered four days prior had been resolved. BetGrizzly reopened the account of a player whose account was disabled after converting his freeplay starter bonus. The player put in a payout request of $250 but his account was closed thereafter.

12.08.2011 06:27 PMTitanBet wagering complaint #8An eight TitanBet (SBR rating C) wagering complaint has been reported. A player writes to SBR stating that his wagers were voided under the premise that the price displayed on the website was erroneous. The player disputes the reason, pointing out that a free odds service showed that the stake for his match on Teteks Tetovo -11 over Oktomvri Prilep was placed on odds that were in-market. The player states that
TitanBet quoted the following section of its fine-print in response to his inquiries:
Please refer to the following point of our Terms and conditions:
12.4 Gambling is a fast moving environment, odds move rapidly and bets are taken continuously and consequently mistakes do occasionally occur. We do all that we can to avoid this but we cannot accept responsibility for any obvious errors or omissions in respect of the announcing, publishing or marking of prices, the late closing of markets, place terms, handicaps, runners or results despite our every effort to ensure total accuracy. If a bet is accepted in error by us at a p rice or market condition, as indicated above, that is:
* 12.4.1 materially different from those available in the general market
at the time the bet was made; or
* 12.4.2 so obviously incorrect given the relative probability of the
event occurring at the time the bet was made; or
* 12.4.3so obviously incorrect having regard to the nature of the betting
business or the market in question (including if we erroneously accept a bet
after the event in question has commenced (unless it is an in-running bet)),
then such bet shall be void.
-TitanBet Sportsbook
On December 5th, SBR reported on the seventh known instance of
TitanBet voiding action where it does not have the best of it. The practice is commonly referred to as a linesmaker falling asleep at the wheel, or failing to update odds so that they become off-market, as opposed to being wrong to begin with.
Players in need of sportsbook assistance are asked to fill out a sportsbook
complaint form. Alternatively, players may reach Sportsbook Review by writing to
help@sportsbookreview.com or by dialing 1-830-255-4677 during
normal business hours.
12.07.2011 05:44 PMEnterBet player submits withdrawal complaintAn EnterBet (SBR rating D-) player tells SBR that a $2,000 balance held at the sportsbook has been erased. The player claims that he originally requested a withdrawal approximately two years ago, and had written off his chances at ever collecting from the notorious slow/no-pay outfit.
EnterBet customer support has claimed to have no knowledge of the funds. SBR is attempting to reach a member of EnterBet management.
SBR receives little feedback from
GoTo Entertainment group players. In September of 2011, SBR
reported that a BetGoTo (SBR rating D-) player who had received only partial payments over the course of the last three years was still owed $2,700 since October of 2011. GoTo group players with payment complaints are asked to submit a
sportsbook complaint form or write to
help@sportsbookreview.com.
12.06.2011 06:29 PMWSEX Sportsbook updateWSEX Sportsbook (SBR rating D-) players report being slow-paid $643,052. 106 players have filed sportsbook complaint forms through SBR indicating that they have not received their funds. The outstanding requests date as far back as October of 2009. A
WSEX manager communicated with SBR on November 16th, stating that the company would attempt to work through the spreadsheet to provide updates on when players can expect to receive partial and full payments. SBR has thus far not received an updated list from WSEX.
WSEX continues to attempt to solicit new clients whilst the majority of their players wait for payment. New account signups are not apprised of the ongoing slow payments. WSEX provides generic updates to customers with outstanding requests by conceding that there is a back log of requests to fill.
The last surge of
WSEX payouts came in October of 2010 when players reported receiving $124,617.
WSEX to player: Firstly, we will like to express our sincerest apologies regarding your delayed payment. We have been working through a back log of request since the beginning of this year, and really do appreciate you as a customer.
Players in need of WSEX sportsbook assistance are asked to fill out a sportsbook
complaint form. Alternatively, players may reach Sportsbook Review by writing to

12.05.2011 08:32 AMTitanBet cancels seventh player's betTitanBet (SBR rating C) has voided another player's wager. The player wagered €118 at the odds of 4.77 at approximately 4AM EST on the football match between Fulham and Liverpool. When SBR checked the odds market of the match, the market had shifted to an average of 3.77.
TitanBet has recently developed a reputation for voiding bets where players have the best of it, the oddsmakers at TitanBet are typically slow to adjust markets and will leave an opening number unchanged for hours causing bettors to think its fair game. The act of cancelling wagers whilst referencing bad line policies despite the wager having been in market at one time is described as "falling asleep at the wheel". TitanBet has thus far refused to discuss the growing number of complaints by citing privacy policy.
SBR
published a video report on the unethical practice on November 30th.
12.03.2011 02:26 PMBetOnline247 scams another playerA BetOnline247 (SBR rating F) player tells SBR that he has been waiting for an €800 for four months.
BetOnline247 players have reported not being paid more than €50,000. SBR has more than fifty complaints on file from users that were not paid. The sportsbook was included in the April 16th, 2011 report "
Online scams, five sportsbooks to avoid".
Operating out of San Pedro, Costa Rica, BetOnline247 claims to be regulated by government of Costa Rica. The claim is not accurate; sportsbooks in Costa Rica are not given gaming licenses nor are their sportsbooks regulated by government officials. BetOnline247 targets European customers. The sportsbook was added to the
scam sportsbook blacklist by Sportsbook Review.com on May 14th, 2011.
12.02.2011 02:44 PMTitanBet Sportsbook complaint #6A new TitanBet (SBR rating C) complaint has been made by a player that says he had multiple wagers voided. The player has shared an email from
TitanBet, which begins by stating that their odds were offmarket by approximately .70. The TitanBet email stated that a market was listed at 1.45 which was intended to be priced at 1.34.
TitanBet Sportsbook: "Since we offer a large quantity of
markets on many events, it is impossible to monitor all the markets
unless bets are being placed on the and so the wrongly priced market was
not noticed until wagers were being placed on it. it was our intention
to offer 1.34 and not 1.45."SBR has confirmed that 1.45 was the fair, average starting price for the match. TitanBet listed the market on Anadolu Efes (a Turkish basketball team) on November 29th at 16:18 at 1.45. The odds were not updated until November 30th at 10:03. A bookmaker penalizing a player for their taking advantage of what's referred to as "falling asleep at the wheel" is considered unethical. This is the sixth TitanBet complaint where a player who had gotten the best of the sportsbook had action voided.
TitanBet support refused to discuss the complaints with SBR, citing privacy policy. SBR is now attempting to reach a member of TitanBet management for comment. SBR
published a video warning bettors of the TitanBet practice on November 30th. |

Heritage acquired all BetJamaica players earlier this year when the A+ rated sportsbook announced that it would
close down, Heritage also housed US-based
TheGreek (SBR rating A+) players.
Heritage has long been known as being a niche shop, one that was invite-only and catered to their group of VIP players. SBR has upgraded Heritage's rating from B+ to A-. Heritage players with feedback are asked to

11.30.2011 01:02 PMBetfair player says account was suspended amidst tennis investigationA high-stakes
Betfair (SBR rating A) punter tells Sportsbook Review that his account has been locked since March 28th, 2011. The Betfair player had a sum of €50,000 risked on an ATP tennis match—Michael Llodra vs Marcel Granollers—which was a normal stake for the trader. Marcel Granollers went into the match in good form and was a slight underdog at +138. After the conclusion of the match, the player states that he received a letter from Betfair indicating that the outcome of the match was being investigated. The player states that he wrote Betfair multiple times per week asking for an update on the status of the investigation. When SBR followed up with Betfair for comment, Betfair advised SBR that they could not discuss specifics of player accounts. SBR is asking the player to provide a complete overview of his position on the match. SBR will update this report as more information becomes available.
11.29.2011 12:59 PMBetUS Sportsbook player hasn't been paid since fall A BetUS (SBR rating D+) player tells SBR that he asked for a $5,000 payment ($2,000 check + $3,000 via a plastic method) on September 18th, 2011. On September 29th, the player asked for an update on his withdrawal status and was told that he was actually sent two checks for $5,000 total. The player followed up again after October 13th and was informed that the checks would be cancelled and that his funds would be placed back into his gaming account. After five days of the funds not being credited to his account, the player says he phoned into BetUS and learned that the time-frame for having the funds credited to him increased to 30 days. After 35 more days passed, the player called
BetUS back and was informed that the third party funds processor had not completed his request and that he should call back for updates after additional time passes.

11.28.2011 06:25 PMTitanBet voiding wagers when line moves against the house?Five
TitanBet (SBR rating C+) players tell SBR that their wagers have been voided after the line moved in their favor. In each of the cases, SBR has verified that the odds were in-market, thus the bets should have stood.
TitanBet player: "
At around 12.00 (local time) on the 24th of
November i have placed a bet at 1.75 odds. The next morning when i woke
up, my bet was voided and the odds had changed to 1.65. When placing the
bet i checked other bookmakers and found the same market with odds
between 1.57 to 1.75. This happened 3 times in the last 2 weeks, with
them voiding bets and then changing odds to a little difference."
TitanBet support has refused to discuss the specific details of the player complaints, citing their privacy policy. SBR has pointed out that players authorize SBR to discuss their account complaints when filing the electronic

11.28.2011 02:19 PMUpdate: VIPSports.eu dispute resolvedEarlier today SBR
reported that a
VIPSports.eu (SBR rating C) player had a wager cancelled because the wagering software did not properly enforce limits. The player entered a $460 to win $400 wager on an NHL game Saturday, November 26th. After realizing that the wager was cancelled, the player said he missed out on re-betting the game elsewhere. The player then requested that
VIPSports.eu close his account and refund his deposit. The sportsbook obliged and refunded his deposit via Moneybookers, though a $35 fee was charged by the eWallet. SBR followed up with management to discuss both the wager cancellation and withdrawal fee.
Management told SBR that that a software glitch caused the player to be able to place a wager in excess of the limit for residents of his country. The error has since been identified and corrected. Despite his funds not being at risk—as the wager was cancelled prior to the game starting—the sportsbook will pay what he would have won at the intended limits ($60). That amount will be added on top of the $35 fee which the sportsbook says was charged by the eWallet processor unbeknownst to them. SBR considers this dispute closed.

VIP implied that their software did not or was not able to properly enforce limits. The player states that because of their error he missed out on his winning play. SBR will seek comment from management.
VIPsports.eu: "Your wager on the hockey wager was cancelled. It exceeded our hockey limits for your account level. Also this game was a steam play and if you are here to bet those wagers your account will be closed.

VIPSports.eu is run by a former

Player one requested $9,000 in November of 2010 and has received generic replies off and on describing processor problems. Players two-four requested $3000, $650 and $400 respectively in September of 2011. A

The last major surge of
WSEX payouts was

reported receiving payment in full. The player was included in the SportsbookReview.com spreadsheet of WSEX players owed. On November 9th,

11.25.2011 01:41 PMBet770 cheats player on soccer wagerA Bet770 (SBR rating D+) player writes to SBR with a soccer wagering complaint. On October 27th, 2011, a
Bet770 player made a £15 soccer wager using a free bet. The wager type was a halftime/fulltime bet on Nordsjaelland vs Midtjylland. In a HTFT bet, a team must win both the first half and the game. In the player's wager, the team he backed won the first half and lost the second half. When the punter noticed he was not credited a win, he created a support ticket with the sportsbook. To his surprise, a Bet770 representative claimed that the bet was settled properly. The player attempted to reason with the representative before filing an official sportsbook complaint through SBR.
SBR reached out to Bet770 to correct its settlement of the match, but Bet770 balked and provided a link to their terms and conditions which would reportedly show that their definition of a HT/FT bet was applicable. SBR reviewed the Bet770 fine-print and found no such policy.
SBR is recommending that Bet770 settle the market properly, and credit the player's account £149.

As a new poker platform we believe it is essential to maintain the utmost security in our systems for the safety of our players and to conform to our regulatory obligations of our license. It's not a fast process but ultimately it is the fairest.
I appreciate the patience of you and the community at large during this process and we will be contacting the player today to let him know his account has been reactivated and he can continue to play or take a payout as per our normal processes and rules.
SBR has received complaints from four Betonline (SBR rating B+) poker players that their payouts were on hold while they were audited for suspected chip dumping. The first dispute was resolved amicably. In the second dispute SBR has concluded, and the player has since confessed, chip dumping took place. The third dispute involves a player suspected of being part of a fraud ring. The largest case is from a player with a balance of $65,000, who has been open to review his hand history publicly. BetOnline expects to resolve the matter by the start of next week. BetOnline, which rarely receives disputes surrounding sportsbook play, recently launched a poker platform that has become instantly popular due to their large player base and players' shrinking online poker options. BetOnline plans to expand its poker management and staff to avoid lengthy account audits and add more proactive risk management.
11.22.2011 06:01 PMBetGrizzly dispute updateThe BetGrizzly (SBR rating D) dispute SBR
reported on November 18th is now resolved.
BetGrizzly has reopened the account of the player who had his log-in disabled after converting the free starter bonus. The player originally told SBR that he registered for BetGrizzly on November 13th, 2011 and proceeded to take his $50 free trial bonus and increase it to $250. After requesting a payout, the player states that his account was closed.
BetGrizzly management tells SBR that the player's account is now enabled and that it was temporarily closed after the player demonstrated that he did not want to follow the rules of the freeplay. SBR considers this dispute closed.
BetGrizzly has been assessed with an initial rating of D in the
SBR Sportsbook ratings guide.
BetGrizzly players with payout complaints are asked to submit a sportsbook complaint form, or dial 1-830-255-4677 during normal business hours to speak with a Sportsbook Review dispute analyst.
11.21.2011 06:09 PMMyBet sportsbook account disputeA MyBet (SBR rating D+) player writes to SBR with an account complaint. The player registered to MyBet and made a first-time deposit of €80 before increasing his account to €368.71. The player tells SBR that MyBet refunded his deposit and closed his account after accusing the player of being connected to other account-holders. The player denies the charge.
MyBet is a Malta-based sportsbook. Malta sportsbooks have recently come under fire, as dodgy sportsbook
owners gravitate to the country for their lax gaming restrictions. Recent Malta scam sportsbooks include
Stryyke (SBR rating F),
BetOnBet (SBR rating F), and
BetAfterBet (SBR rating F). MyBet is one of the only Malta sportsbooks not on SBR's
scam sportsbooks blacklist. MyBet had a rating of D+ initiated by Sportsbook Review on April 7th, 2011.
SBR will update this report.

11.20.2011 01:18 PMUnibet player has account disabledA Unibet (SBR rating B-) player tells SBR that his account has been disabled. The player states that although his account was verified in July,
Unibet asked him to provide a bank statement earlier this month. The player tells SBR that after sending the required document, Unibet closed the player's account and indicated that only his balance would be paid to him. The player says his last communication from Unibet was two weeks ago. The balance in the account was €685, with half of the funds coming from a Moneybookers deposit. The player noted that in his last communication with Unibet, it was stated the funds must be paid via bank transfer.
On October 5th, SBR reported that Unibet disabled two other player accounts. In both of those cases, players report that documents were provided to verify their accounts but the documents were ultimately determined to be unacceptable by Unibet.
Unibet players with feedback are asked to write to help@sportsbookreview.com.
11.19.2011 04:00 PMScam alert: 105Vig sportsbook player #2 writes inA second 105Vig Sportsbook (SBR rating D-) player writes in. The player tells SBR that he opened an account with 105Vig in early November after a sales agent lured him in with a $100 free starter bonus that carried a 5X rollover. The player tells SBR that after completing the play-through requirement, he asked for a payout of $100. The player tells SBR that 105Vig denied the request, claiming that he must have a minimum of $500 in his balance to make a payout request. This non-standard rule is not found anywhere on the 105Vig site.
SBR
reported on November 11th that a player who also took the $100 starter bonus completed his rollover and increased his balance to $1,654.11. The player requested payment on Tuesday, November 8th and has not been paid. A 105Vig representative reportedly told the player that public posts attributed to the user had been read, and that the representative believed the player "should not be paid".
105Vig has all the makings of a
scam sportsbook - peddling no deposit bonuses and credit lines, working over forums and social media platforms whilst giving poor service and making up rules as it goes along when players attempt to cash in their chips. Players are advised to avoid the unknown bookie.

11.18.2011 06:14 PMBetGrizzly player has account disabled after converting free bonusA BetGrizzly (unrated) player writes in with an account complaint. The player registered for BetGrizzly on November 13th, 2011. He accepted the free $50 no deposit bonus and completed the advertised 6X rollover. After finishing the rollover, the player requested a $250 withdrawal. The player tells SBR that
BetGrizzly informed him that he needed to wait a period of 30 days in order to request payment. The player then says that his account was suddenly closed without notice from BetGrizzly. The player states that customer service will not reopen his account. SBR is following up on this BetGrizzly sportsbook complaint.
On July 29th, 2011, SBR reported that BetGrizzly Sportsbook was targeting players promising 100% bonuses. BetGrizzly was being promoted by former WagerWeb (SBR rating D-) employee "Chuck".
Players are advised to use extreme caution when playing with unrated online sportsbooks. High bonuses are typically dangled as carrots to reel in new blood but can spell disaster for the house without proper risk management. SBR publishes a comprehensive list of over 1,000 sportsbook ratings in the
SBR Sportsbook ratings guide.

11.16.2011 06:35 PMVIPSports.eu deceptive marketingVIPSports.eu (SBR rating C) is still making deceptive sales pitches to former clients of the now defunct
VIP Sports (SBR rating B-) family.
VIPSports.eu is distributing emails suggesting that it is the same as the terminated VIP Sports operation. It is important for players to realize that the original VIP Sports is not back - former marketing personnel are attempting to capitalize on the brand's name by releasing targeted emails to former VIP Sports and
Nine.com (SBR rating B-) customers. VipSports.eu is hosted on a different wagering platform, in a different country, with different financial backing and ownership. Players should approach the new VIPSports.eu as an unknown quantity and proceed with caution as with all start-up sportsbook companies.

11.16.2011 08:50 AMWSEX Sportsbook update: $610,990 owed to 93 players
Five new WSEX (SBR rating D-) payout complaints have been reported.
Player one requested a $530 withdrawal on July 4th, 2011. Player two requested $5,000 in March of 2011. Players three and four requested $500 and $1100 in April and August of 2011 respectively. Player five requested $1,600 in April of 2011.
WSEX acknowledged one of the players by stating that progress is being made in scheduling payments for their backlog of delinquent requests. WSEX confirmed that not all requests could be paid at once and again pinned the blame on processor challenges instead of a lack of a liquidity. Ninety-three players report being owed a total of $610,990, with outstanding requests dating as far back as October of 2009.
SBR followed up with WSEX again to resend the list of players owed and was told by a manager that the list would be reviewed by this weekend.
Recent WSEX payoutsA WSEX player that requested $1,800 on November 29th, 2010 reports receiving payment in full. The player was one of the names on the SportsbookReview.com WSEX list. On November 9th, SBR
reported that a player owed $60,000 received a $6,000 payment toward his outstanding balance. A second player received $2,000.
The last surge of WSEX Sportsbook payouts was
reported by SBR in October of 2010; these WSEX players were paid $124,617 during the heart of the football season.
11.15.2011 12:35 PMScam alert: Oddsmaker sportsbook not paying playersAn Oddsmaker (SBR rating F) player writes to SBR with a payment complaint. On October 1st, 2011, the
Oddsmaker player requested a withdrawal of $3,000 via Moneybookers. After numerous support requests without being given little more than generic replies, the player filed a

Reply #4: We only have check withdrawal method for cashing out and we cannot send you one because you are a non-US customer. We only can pay you via Moneybookers and there's no update yet from the proper department.

11.14.2011 05:48 PMBetAtHome player has account lockedA BetAtHome (SBR rating C-) player writes to SBR that his account has been frozen. The player claims to have operated a BetAtHome account for a year and a half - making multiple deposits, redeeming bonus offers and wagering normally. The player claims that after requesting a withdrawal of €415 his account was locked.
BetAtHome responded to SBR's inquiry by suggesting that the player's ID may have been fraudulent. The player claims to have submitted two, clear copies of the ID and denies that his ID is forged. BetAtHome has declined to discuss the sportsbook dispute with SBR further, citing data protection. The player has been advised to file a claim through the Lotteries and Gaming Authority (LGA) of Malta.
11.12.2011 01:51 PMBetBtw sportsbook alertA BetBtw (unrated) player writes in with a payment complaint. The player deposited funds with BetBtw and increased his balance to more than $9,000. The player tells Sportsbook Review that he has been owed $9,135 since July 25th, 2011.
BetBtw shares the same web server as
BetTheWorld.com, formerly rated D+ by SBR. BetTheWorld ceased offering sportsbook wagering to customers and transformed into a fantasy wagering site. BetBtw shares the same web server as credit sites BetUniversal, 247WebToday and AgentsReport.com. SBR attempted to contact BetBtw using two known phone numbers—800-689-9922 and 800-816-0751; in both instances BetBtw terminated the call after SBR explained the call was in regards to a player payout complaint.
Following SBR's attempts to reach management, BetBtw locked the player's account. The player provided SBR with a screenshot showing his outstanding balance. SBR will update this sportsbook report.

11.11.2011 02:59 PMSportsbook scam alert: 105Vig player writes inA 105Vig (SBR rating D-) player writes in. The player tells SBR that he signed up at the mysterious new sportsbook for their $100 free bet promotion, which he lost. 105Vig offered the player a $500 line of credit - the player accepted and increased his balance to $1,654.11. The player asked for a withdrawal on Tuesday, November 8th. On Wednesday November 9th 105Vig contacted the player and stated while manager "Jerry" was not in the office, the representative believed that the player should not be paid due to making negative posts on SBRforum about the company.
On November 8th, 2011, SBR reported that 105Vig was peddling no-deposit bonuses and credit lines.
105vig.com
uses an unencrypted login, offers no customer support email address or
phone number, and uses HTML to display its sportsbook lines - not industry-grade betting software. SBRforum members
reported that the unheard of website offered a $500 credit line if the no-deposit bonus was lost.
105Vig is currently on the SBR
sportsbooks blacklist. SBR advises users to avoid the anonymous outfit.
11.10.2011 04:05 PMBetUS payout disputeA BetUS (SBR rating D+) player submits a payout complaint. The player tells SBR that on October 6th he requested a withdrawal of $1,955. The payment arrived on October 24th, 2011 but was rejected by the player's bank. Following industry standard, BetUS requested that the player provide proof of the failed payment. After obliging BetUS' request, the player was told that the sportsbook needed to perform a payout trace and that it could take up to ten days. BetUS informed the player on November 8th that they needed to place a stop on the payment and that it could be up to 30 days before the player can receive his funds.
While
BetUS initially approached this payment dispute within the accepted industry standard, BetUS veered off course by suggesting that a stop-pay would need to be placed on an already failed payment. The player would have no way to actually redeem payment by using what he was sent as a financial instrument; therefore after complying with BetUS' requests, payout accommodations should be made.
BetUS Sportsbook players with grievances should file a sportsbook complaint form. Alternatively, players may submit feedback by writing to help@sportsbookreview.com.
11.09.2011 11:28 AMWSEX Sportsbook updateA WSEX Sportsbook (SBR rating D-) player awaiting $60,000 since 2010 has reported receiving $6,000 of his outstanding balance in the last two months. This is the second WSEX Sportsbook payment confirmed this week. On November 2nd, SBR reported that a
WSEX player received $2,000.
Since SBR's last report, SBR has discussed the WSEX slow-payments with a member of management. SBR was told that WSEX intends to begin paying portions to larger balances with the intent to settle the remaining balances at a later date.
WSEX stated that a spreadsheet was maintained with a list of payment obligations. SBR provided WSEX with a list of updated player complaints this afternoon.
In SBR's latest WSEX report it was stated that the sportsbook told players processing would pickup in the next few weeks - those statements are consistent with what SBR learned from WSEX management. Many WSEX players were hoping that the sportsbook would begin the 2011 football campaign as it did last year when
SBR reported that $124,617 in payments were made. WSEX likely turned a slower profit in the previous quarter enabling them to begin releasing portions of funds to players.
Eighty-eight WSEX players are awaiting $604,060 in payments. SBR will update this report as more information becomes available. WSEX players with payout complaints are asked to submit a
sportsbook complaint form or write directly to
help@sportsbookreview.com.

Bet33 is a recreational sportsbook where professional players will quickly make the realization that they are unwelcome - the sportsbook is active in marketing and has made strides to improve their image in light of the negative press shouldered due to ownerships previous involvement with
Apex Sportsbook (SBR rating F). Bet33 has taken care of old Apex debts that it argues were recorded after ownership departed the now defunct sportsbook. On April 26th, SBR reported that
Bet33 paid an Apex player with a six-year old payment claim.
Bet33 has not had a meaningful dispute submitted against them in the past six months - the most recent news was a player confirming a

11.03.2011 05:28 PMBetIslands Sportsbook receives rating upgradeBetIslands (SBR rating B) players have continued to report positive experiences with the sportsbook. Much of the positive feedback surrounds General Manager "Jon Kreta", who prides himself on attention to detail and VIP service of player accounts.
BetIslands is the youngest sportsbook to occupy a top five-slot in the SBR posters
sportsbook poll. The biggest hurdle has been website uptime - in June of 2011 the sportsbook experienced downtime due to technical outages within their building. Since that time, BetIslands infrastructure and website performance has improved.
As a result of their efficiency, BetIslands Sportsbook has received another sportsbook rating upgrade. The last upgrade made on August 5th was posted after SBR verified that the operation is backed by established industry bookmakers. SBR will continue to evaluate customer service and payout feedback as the sportsbook grows. BetIslands players with feedback are asked to write to

11.03.2011 03:41 PMVIPSports.eu targeting former VIP Sports playersVipSports.eu (SBR rating C) is the latest licensee of the
Safari Casino Group. Safari powers VipSports.eu with wagering software, hosting and processors in exchange for a monthly royalty. VipSports.eu distributed thousands of emails Monday morning to former players of the now defunct
VIP Sports (SBR rating B-). The
VipSports.eu manager was formerly employed by VIP Sports and possesses an original database list of VIP customers. SBR interviewed the owner of the Safari Casino Group/BTG Gaming software company who confirmed powering the new brand.
It is important to note that the original VIP Sports.com went off-line without paying all players. VIP Sports closed its doors faster than seasonal account-holders could react to a notice to withdraw their funds. SBR has assisted those players in receiving payments from another start-up sportsbook with former VIP Sports personnel,
GTbets.com (SBR rating C). SBR believes that a significant amount of VIP Sports players remain unpaid.
VIP Sports player: I am a long time, 7 year vipsports customer, was never told it was closing. I only make bets during college football season (American football) and just noticed today that my account was closed. I had a 700 USD in the account and would appreciate the money back.

According to player complaints, WSEX Sportsbook owes $570,010 in payments to more than 85 players. While WSEX Sportsbook has recently declined to go on the record with SBR about the extreme payment delays, WSEX has began informing select players via email that processing is scheduled to pick up in the next few weeks. 10.27.2011 05:47 PMBet770 player receives €200 of €700 payoutA Bet770 (SBR rating D+) player writes to SBR with a payment complaint. The Bet770 player tells Sportsbook Review that he requersted a withdrawal of €700 on September 18th, 2011 and that only €200 has been paid to him. The player says that the €200 payment was received on October 7th, 2011 and claims that his ID has already been verified by the sportsbook. SBR has followed up with
Bet770 to discuss this issue and will update this report.
Bet770 was added to the SBR ratings guide on September 24th, 2011. Bet770 is a Londonb ased online sportsbook and casino. The gaming site has operated since 2001 under the Group 770 name, most known for Casino777 and related brands. 10.26.2011 11:29 PMTipico Sportsbook updateTipico Sportsbook (SBR rating D-) has restored the account of the player that SBR
reported on October 17th.
Tipico Sportsbook originally confiscated the player's €2,000 balance on the grounds of 'organised betting', or collaboration with other accounts to circumvent wagering limits. Though Tipico felt its evidence of player wrongdoing was strong, after discussion with SBR Tipico conceded that there was slight gray area surrounding the player's account and that because of that the player would be given the benefit of the doubt. Tipico discussed at length new procedures it is taking to combat limit circumvention and bolster its risk and fraud management, as well as their hiring of personnel to assist in this capacity. With the resolution of this complaint, Tipico Sportsook has no outstanding claims. Tipico Sportsbok's rating has been adjusted from D- to D+.

Sportsbook.com (SBR rating D-) player submits a payout complaint. The player tells SBR that he has three pending withdrawals for $2,500 each. The player says that his initial payout requests were canceled in June with the funds credited back into his gaming account. On October 22nd, SBR
reported that a player who made a withdrawal of $6,800 on July 22nd, 2011 also had his payout canceled with the funds placed back into the account. |

10.24.2011 06:25 PMBetAtHome benefiting from fraud attemptsBetAtHome (SBR rating C-) has confiscated a €460 balance (€300 deposit+winnings) from an admitted bonus-abuser. A
BetAtHome player confessed to operating multiple accounts to scam the sportsbook out of giving him several first deposit bonuses. The player tells SBR that he created an additional "5 or 6 accounts" to take advantage of a 100% signup bonus that paid up to €33 on each deposit. All extra accounts were eventually emptied - no withdrawals were made on these accounts. While the player is unsure of specific numbers, he claims to be definite that he has been a losing BetAtHome customer overall.
Sportsbooks that offer signup bonuses must protect themselves against customer fraud. Bonus abuse and multi-accounting are prevalent in the industry, forcing sportsbooks to spend a great deal of resources on fraud management, in some cases even choosing to not offer bonuses to certain regions or specific deposit methods. In this dispute, though the player was in clear violation of BetAtHome's rules, he did not profit from his attempts to scam the sportsbook - thus, the sportsbook would have no right to confiscate his deposit. The argument could be made that the punishment fit the crime if this player had withdrawn more than he deposited as a result of his multi-accounting scam, but such was not the case in this sportsbook dispute. |

10.22.2011 01:18 PMSportsbook.com player's botched withdrawals historyA Sportsbook.com (SBR rating D-) player submits a payment complaint. The player writes that he originally asked for a $6,800 withdrawal on July 22nd, 2011 - that payment was never made by
Sportsbook.com, and the funds were credited back to his gaming account. The player resubmitted his withdrawal on August 20th, 2011. The player states that his payout request was again canceled due to alleged processor problems. The player's third withdrawal request was later made on October 6th, 2011 - Sportsbook.com quoted a time-frame of six to eight weeks for his funds to be received. Though the request is within the given time-frame, the player has grown uneasy that this latest, third consecutive request might be voided. SBR is following up with management. |

10.21.2011 07:07 PMWSEX Sportsbook update: $537,947 owedWSEX Sportsbook (SBR rating D-) is currently behind on $537,947 in payments to more than 75 players. The once well regarded sportsbook turned slow-pay organization has recently avoided comment to SBR.
WSEX Sportsbook players report outstanding requests as far back as October of 2009. The last major surge of WSEX payments came in the beginning of the 2010 football season, when
WSEX paid $124,617 to players. Unfortunately, the WSEX debt has more than doubled since last year - the sportsbook has sullied its once good name and is not believed to have recorded much growth since beginning its downward spiral. Players with balances at WSEX are advised to cease wagering until the sportsbook shows that it can resume processing its delinquent payouts.
WSEX Sportsbook to player: We have not forgotten about your outstanding request. As mentioned in my last correspondence, we have signed on a new processor and all our past due request are scheduled for shipment on a weekly basis. Every week, a batch will be completed and I do see that your request can be shipped by middle October. I realize that this may be a bit disappointing to you but we are honestly trying our best to ensure that your request is settled as soon as possible. As I always mention, you are free to contact me to address any further queries.

10.19.2011 11:16 AMThe risk of playing with poorly rated online sportsbooksMike just hit a $75,000 football parlay and already had plans on how he
would spend the dough. A 50'' flat-screen was first up - then he was finally paying off the
auto-loan he put off for so long. Next
was a gift to his parents for putting a roof over his head eight years too
long, well past most kids' home expiration date.
One problem Mike didn't account for in all of his planning - he would never
see a red cent of it.
Mike made an account at Scam Book Xyz.com. After being on the ropes a few
times, down to his last $200, Mike threw up a prayer. Except this was no Our
Father; it was a Hail Mary, fourteen-team, NFL Sunday parlay. Chasing that ever
elusive life-changing score, Mike won every game. That's when the music
stopped and reality set in.
"Hi, I'd like to go about withdrawing my funds. What's the fastest
possible manner I can do that?"
"Sir, the notes from management are that your account has been
locked and is under review. Until the investigation is complete, no withdrawals
are possible on the account, sir. May I assist in anything else?"
Mike's heart sunk in his chest. He had heard all the stories of scam sportsbooks
but he blew off the advice of his friends and proceeded to part with his cash every
second Friday of the month. After all, he was given a small reload bonus on
every deposit. He doled out $300 at a time of his hard-earned, minimum wage
paycheck and dreamed of that big score; the life-changer.
Mike would soon come to grips with what amounted to a cold shower. He failed
to do his research and ended up with a scam sportsbook that had a history of
not paying big winners.
________
The above anecdote is fictional, but it highlights a very real risk of
playing with shady bookmakers. While online gambling is typically met with
negative connotations in most circles, sportsbook players are no different than
investors - from recreational players looking to have a good time, to middle of
the pack grinders earning a little on the side to the full-blown
professionals: A sportsbook deposit is an investment. Before making an
investment to any online sportsbook, a player should consider the following:
How long has the sportsbook been in business?
Many sportsbooks pop up on the grid each year. Sportsbooks aiming to serve
US customers typically surface prior to football season. These sportsbooks are
at a disadvantage as they are attempting to drum up business in a tight, highly
competitive market. To counter the reluctance players have trying out a new
sportsbook, these companies usually promise to give away the farm - reduced juice, big starter bonuses plus reload
incentives. The best measuring stick a player can use to gauge the safety of an
operation is TIME. Any sportsbook can have a successful quarter or year; but
can the sportsbook maintain a high level of service, fast payouts and good
customer service season after season, year after year? SBR advises players to
stick with online bookmakers that have been in business for a minimum of five
years.
Are there any serious outstanding
claims against the sportsbook?
The value of the internet is how quickly information spreads. A simple Google search of a
company often yields relevant
information for the player to consider before making his decision to play with
an online sportsbook. SBR also provides
an outlet for users to discuss sportsbooks without fear of censorship in the
Sportsbooks & Industry section at SBR Forum. The SBR sportsbook ratings guide features over 1,000
online bookmakers - from various countries, with different platforms and business models. For a more refined look
through bookmakers considered to be among the industry's best, the official
sportsbook reviews written by SBR provide thorough operation overviews.
How willing is the sportsbook to discuss disputes with SBR?
A good online sportsbook is no different than any other company in the
public eye - they strive to provide good service and to be regarded positively
by consumers, knowing that good press leads to more customers, and more
customers allow business to grow. One of the aspects that helps shape a
sportsbook rating is their communication
with SBR. In an industry rife with betting markets, wager types, bonuses and various
payout methods, inevitably a dispute will arise where either the player or
house is at fault. SBR logs player complaints in its industry news feed and
posting forum, giving readers a chance to stay up to date with current online
sportsbook news and disputes. Sportsbooks rated B+ and higher have historically
been active in discussing disputes with SBR.
Players in need of sportsbook assistance are asked to fill out a sportsbook

10.18.2011 02:31 PMInternet scams: Phishing sites target users, gambling industrySBR receives thousands of
sportsbook complaints per year. A small percentage of these complaints are from players who say their accounts have been compromised. While some of these claims are proven to be fraudulent, others have appeared to be a legitimate third party breach.
Whether doing online banking, emailing friends and family or placing a sportsbook wager, certain knowledge is required to avoid becoming a victim. While the bells and whistles of the internet may seem overwhelming, reading and understanding these simple suggestions will help you steer clear of common scams.
Every website is not as it seems
Before logging into any website, you need to carefully examine the URL bar. The URL bar is typically the furthest thing north of your browser window, and it contains the web address of the site you are currently navigating.

Logic dictates that when logging into Paypal to complete a transaction, the URL bar would cleanly begin Paypal.com. Scammers nowadays are building custom i-Frames to mirror the appearance of your website, with all features in place as they normally are, except what they really are doing is spoofing your sites' external appearance. One thing scammers cannot do however is duplicate the actual URL of your website, so this is why examining the URL bar of each site you log into will save a giant headache long-term.
Clicking links from emailNever click a link from email when the sender is not someone you recognize, even if you know the sender, it is important to scrutinize the contents of the email as that person's account could have been hijacked. The first thing a smart scammer will do is redistribute his viruses, keyloggers, or phishing links to an address book. While attacks differ in delivery, many web-based attacks can be traced back to a rotten email. Email does no harm if deleted right away - however, you are in for a real nightmare if you decide to clickity-click your way through your inbox.
Don't use the same password at multiple sites
In nearly all cases where an email, sportsbook or other online account is accessed without
authorization, the password was recycled. Using the same
password at multiple sites makes identifying the source of an attack
infinitely harder. It also creates the possibility that multiple
accounts are compromised. Use a different password for each site that
you log into. Never use pet or family names or common number combinations like birthday dates. Your password should look like the serial number of an application; random numbers and letters that a cracker would never attempt to put together.
I was hacked! Am I too late?
NO! However, based on the sophistication of the attack, your options can be sobering. In most cases, a system restore to an earlier date would do the job, but a complete reinstallation of Windows may be required. SBR advises users to regularly update their antivirus software and to maintain a firewall - ESET, Nortons, McAffee are all good, easy to use programs that require little computer experience.
10.17.2011 05:38 PMTipico confiscates €2,000 citing 'organised betting'A Tipico (SBR rating D-) player reports that a €2,000 balance has been confiscated. The
Tipico player tells SBR that he opened his account on October 5th, 2010 and began wagering as normal. After three months of successful play, the player reports that his maximum wager size was lowered to €99. He continued to play, withdrawing through Moneybookers every so often even with the imposed wagering limit.
The player reports that exactly one year after opening his account, he received a letter that his account was being closed on the grounds of "organised betting", or syndicate play - a charge the player denies. |

The player filed a sportsbook complaint through SBR on October 8th indicating that he had been unable to withdraw a balance of $2,500 for four months. On September 28th, SBR reported that
Sportsbook.com moved non-US players to Global.Sportsbook.com - an operation headquartered in Malta and acting as a sublicense to
WinUnited Ltd, which powers online bookmaker
Youwin Sportsbook (SBR rating D-). Sportsbook.com caused controversy at the time of announcement as its lengthy email to players stated that futures bets would not be honored, a decision which was later adjusted after SBR connected with a Non-US Sportsbook manager. 10.12.2011 02:41 PMBetUS cheats player on halftime wagerA BetUS (SBR rating D+) player submits a detailed wagering complaint. The player has shared evidence with Sportsbook Review which suggests deceptive practices on the part of BetUS, with respect to a halftime football wager. The player wanted to make a second half wager on the Kansas City Chiefs vs San Diego Chargers match on Sunday, September 25th.
The line offered by
BetUS was listed as San Diego -7. After attempting to place the bet, a popup appeared indicating that the line had changed. Not thinking anything of it, the player went back to view the line again, refreshed the page and was surprised to see the line still at San Diego -7. The player hard refreshed his browser, and again attempted to place a wager on San Diego -7, and again was greeted by a popup window disallowing the wager due to a line change. After refreshing the page once more, the player decided to enter a $5 test wager on Kansas City to see if that wager would be accepted. The player reports that BetUS accepted the wager at +7 for Kansas City, without any notification of a line change. He then immediately refreshed his page and attempted to place a bet on San Diego at -7. The player reports that again, the BetUS software indicated that the line had changed. The player repeated this cycle multiple times, placing a total of four bets on Kansas City at +7, taking screenshots of each wager. | Discuss

10.10.2011 06:20 PMSportsbetting.com payout complaintA Sportsbetting.com (SBR rating C) player reports a payout complaint. The player states that on August 6th, he requested a withdrawal of $1,400, which was never received. The amount ended up being placed back in the bettor's account "several times", at which point the player continued to wager and eventually increased his balance to $9,500. The player states that on September 13th, he made a new payout request for that amount and was told that payment could not be made, and that an update would be given. SBR has contacted
Sportsbetting.com (ag) management to confirm the player's timeline.
On October 4th, SBR reported a conclusion on the previously documented
Sportsbetting.com wagering dispute, where a player's second half wager on the NY Giants vs Arizonal Cardinals football game was canceled during the third quarter. The player allegedly had bet on a second half line that was mispriced by five cents, though management later clarified that the pointspread was out of line by a half-point. After discussing the complaint with SBR, management agreed to credit the player's winnings and correctly settle effected tickets.

reported that players who had wagers were asked to write into Sportsbook Review so that assistance could be provided. The
YouWin Sportsbook (SBR rating D-) manager tasked with overseeing the Global.Sportsbook.com operations in Malta informed SBR that players could request to have their futures bets reinstated.
Global.Sportsbook.com player: I had 4 pending wagers each for $100 that have been voided. All 4 wagers were parlays, three 2 legs and one 3 legs parlay. All 4 parlays had only one more leg pending. In that case, I think right thing to do is to void last leg and pay me bets I won. You just gave me back my $400 without honoring my winning plays.

10.04.2011 05:02 PMSportsbetting.com wagering dispute updateA Sportsbetting.com (SBR rating C) manager has addressed the wagering dispute
reported by SBR on October 3rd. In that dispute, a player stated that a second half wager on the NY Giants vs Arizona Cardinals game was canceled during the third quarter. The player forwarded an email from
Sportsbetting.com (ag) which indicated that the wager was voided due to the correct line being a mere five cents different. The manager who spoke with SBR indicated that the wagering supervisor who made this ruling acted in error, and that effected players would have their winning tickets reinstated. SBR asks Sportsbetting.com players to write to

10.03.2011 06:13 PMSportsbetting.com cancels bet mispriced by .05 during gameA Sportsbetting.com (SBR rating C) player submits a sportsbook wagering complaint. The player tells SBR that he placed a $550 wager on the NY Giants vs Arizona Cardinals halftime total, which was listed at 21 points -105/-115. The player's wager was on "over", priced at -105. The player claims that after 14 points had been scored in the second half, he received an email message indicating that his wager had been canceled.
Sportsbetting.com (ag) cited a line error, claiming that the correct line was 21.5 -110/-110.
Sportsbetting.com: The message is to inform you that the wagers on the Second Half total of the New York Giants vs. Arizona Cardinals NFL game scheduled for today Sunday, October 2nd, 2011 have been No Actioned due to a wrong line po sted. The total for the second half of the game was listed as 21.5, UN -115; the correct line was 21.5, -110 either way.

Thank you for your understanding.
SBR is attempting to verify this sportsbook complaint. A sportsbook cannot choose to void a wager if it is allegedly mispriced by a mere five cents. Additionally, the player's claim that the wager was accepted then voided during the game would cement the sportsbook's actions as unjust. SBR will update this report.

Sportsbook.com (SBR rating D-) non-US players update.
SBR has spoken with one of the
Sportsbook.com non-US managers, who also manages the YouWin (SBR rating D-) brand, concerning the news that players who were transferred over to Global.Sportsbook.com once the non-US brand moved to Malta would lose their futures wagers. The manager told Sportsbook Review that the decision was made to extend players a conditional offer to have their futures bets restored. Players with canceled futures are asked to contact SBR immediately, either through
sportsbook complaint form or by writing directly to help@sportsbookreview.com.
On September 28th, SBR reported that
Sportsbook.com redirected its entire non-US player base to register at new website, Global.Sportsbook.com. Sportsbook.com will continue to manage its US players from Costa Rica, while the non-US arm will be operated out of Malta. Sportsbook.com Non-US is licensed under
Win United Ltd., the gaming company which powers
YouWin Sportsbook. WinUnited Ltd is licensed to operate as a gaming company by the Lotteries and Gaming Authority (LGA) of Malta.
In typical Sportsbook.com fashion, the controversial gaming company announced to non-US players via email that their pending wagers would not be honored. The decision sparked outrage amongst players, as did the announcement that cash bonuses would also be forfeited if a withdrawal was requested within 60 days of the new player accounts creation.
During its long email to players, Sportsbook.com also claimed that it would round up currency conversion so that accounts in dollars would receive more than what the exchange rate dictates. However, on September 30th a player filed a sportsbook complaint through SBR indicating that he believes to be shorted $1,700 after having the transfer made to his new account. The player held a balance of $10,700 at Sportsbook.com. SBR is following up on this player's claim with management, and asks players with similar complaints to
contact SBR.
SBR will update this sportsbook report.
09.28.2011 06:25 PMSportsbook.com moves non-US players to Global.Sportsbook.comSportsbook.com (SBR rating D-) is now redirecting non-US players to Global.Sportsbook.com. Sportsbook.com (ag) fired off an email this morning advising players that their accounts would be moved to the new, Malta-based platform. Global.Sportsbook.com is officially part of
WinUnited Ltd., a gaming company licensed by the Lotteries and Gaming Authority (LGA) of Malta. WinUnited Ltd. is most known for powering YouWin sportsbook (SBR rating D-). A Sportsbook.com (ag) manager confirmed to SBR that US-based players are not impacted by the move.
In its 1,000+ word email to international players, the sportsbook declared that rollovers would be waived on outstanding bonus cash with the condition that players not request payment for sixty days. If a player requests payment prior to then, he would be forfeiting the bonus amount entirely. The sportsbook is essentially holding players funds hostage and forcing them to sit on their balances without losing their earned bonus cash. The email went on to state that pending wagers would not be honored. The unethical decision to void player wagers is one of many the Sportsbook.com Group has made over years, along with debiting $150,000+ in
correlated parlay winnings from players five years ago.
Feedback from Sportsbook.com's non-US players
A
Sportsbook.com
(ag) player based in Canada wrote SBR today with concerns over his
$2,070 balance. The player attempted to log into his account this
morning and found that it was disabled. The player was told that as a
non-US resident, he would have to log into the new Global.Sportsbook.com

09.24.2011 12:29 PMBet770 added to sportsbook ratings guideBet770 (SBR rating D+) is a London based online sportsbook and casino. The gaming site has been operating since 2001 under The Group 770, most known for Casino770, and in 2009 has attained a sublicense for its sportsbook in the Netherlands Antilles (Mandarin Gaming NV Curacao).
Bet770 players have reported a number of bonus and wagering complaints in the last year. Complaints range from bait-and-switch, or bonus denial, grading time complaints, or poor customer service in situations involving multiple accounts. To Bet770's credit, the bookmaker has kept its lines of communication open with Sportsbook Review and to date has not outright stiffed a bettor. Bet770 has been assessed with an initial rating of D+ by SBR in the
sportsbook ratings guide. Like with all lowly rated sportsbooks, bettors are responsible with understanding the inherent risks involved. Bet770's major flaws are its inability to effectively manage its bonus programs to prevent player abuse, and its risk management in identifying suspicious activity. In addition to its sportsbook, Bet770 operates a casino, bingo, poker and arcade games platform. Bet770 players with relevant feedback are asked to write to

09.23.2011 05:21 PMSportsbook.com pays $10,200 to playerUPDATE to 9/22
Sportsbook.com report:
A Sportsbook.com (SBR rating D-) manager addressed the complaint reported by SBR on September 22nd, where a player stated that he was offered a cash bonus in exchange for cancelling his pending withdrawals. The player had five payout requests pending for a total of $10,200, with the earliest request outstanding from July of 2011. This was the fourth similar complaint from a
Sportsbook.com (ag) player this calendar month. SBR reached out to a new management contact within the Sportsbook.com group and received confirmation that a consolidated payment was sent to the player. The player confirmed receiving his funds in an email to SportsbookReview this morning. SBR inquired on the status of the additional three complaints, for $24,000, $4,000 and $250 collectively — each of those players also reported being offered a bonus to cancel their pending withdrawals. The manager stated that he would be looking into those complaints.

09.22.2011 04:49 PMSportsbook.com player offered bonus to cancel payoutsA Sportsbook.com (SBR rating D-) player owed $10,200 reports being offered a bonus to cancel his outstanding withdrawals. The player's first payout request was made for $1,250 on July 9th, 2011. On August 25th, that request was cancelled and placed back into his betting account. The player was told that his next payout request would be treated with a higher priority; the same promise given to fellow
Sportsbook.com (ag) players that also filed
sportsbook complaints earlier this month. The player reports that he made another payout request for the initial $1,250 plus $250 more on August 25th. In addition to that request, the player also has outstanding withdrawals totaling $10,200 which were requested throughout August and into September. The player notes that he has also received the bonus promo emails asking him to cancel his payouts in exchange for a cash bonus incentive. Sportsbook Review has written Sportsbook.com management asking for an update to this complaint.
09.21.2011 03:55 PMWagerWeb sportsbook complaint updateThe WagerWeb (SBR rating D-) player from SBR's
report on August 12th is still owed $2,500. On July 6th, the player filed a sportsbook complaint against the Costa Rica based online sportsbook company WagerWeb, indicating that he had not been paid a $5,000 withdrawal. SBR followed up on the complaint, and eventually received the player's confirmation that half of the payout request was filled by the sportsbook.
WagerWeb claimed that the funds were originally sent via a processing method that was ultimately frozen, and believed at the time that there was a chance the player might still receive the first payout.
WagerWeb also claimed that the player communicating with SBR was a third-party, or "beard", acting on behalf of the account-holder. A beard is an individual sports bettors might use to register an account in the name of, whilst still placing the bets themselves. It can be a tactic used to hide ones identity if the original player is a known professional, has a negative history at the sportsbook in question or wishes to avoid being associated with a gaming company. WagerWeb questioned the legitimacy of the email address associated with the player, but declined to delve into specific details.
SportsbookReview is following up with WagerWeb on the player's remaining, unpaid $2,500 balance.
09.21.2011 02:11 PMCentreBet cheats player in live betting wagerA CentreBet (SBR rating D+) player placed a €2,500 wager on a soccer match between Benifica and Arsenal on July 6th, 2011. The bet was recorded while Arsenal lead the match 1-0. The player's wager was entered at exactly 19:58:54. A goal was scored at 19:59:50, approximately 56 seconds later.
CentreBet then suspended its market at 19:59:51, 57 seconds after the bet was placed. CentreBet accepted the player's wager at 20:00:02, 66 seconds after the bet was played, 12 seconds after the goal was scored, and 11 seconds after CentreBet suspended its markets.
When presented with these facts, CentreBets chose not to dispute them and instead stated that they were irelevant. SBR is continuing to attempt to reason with the online bookmaker. |

YouWin (SBR rating D+) player writes to Sportsbook Review.com indicating that a wager for €105 was cancelled. The player states that he first noticed that his winnings of €194 were docked froim his account when logging on this morning. 09.19.2011 04:43 PMBetGoTo payment complaint reportedA
BetGoTo (SBR rating D-) player has written SBR with a payment complaint. The player tells SBR that he has received some small payouts over the course of three years from the slow-pay sportsbook and casino group, but is currently waiting on approximately $2,700 since October of 2010. The player reports sending numerous emails to BetGoTo to attempt to receive an update on his withdrawal status.
On August 1st, 2009, BetGoTo entered the SBR sportsbook ratings guide under slow-pay sportsbook group GoToEntertainment, which is most known for powering GoToCasino, Enterbet, and dozens of similar brands. The group is headquartered in San Jose, Costa Rica, staying below the radar and operating off mailer lists. The family is not believed to have many current active players. GoTo briefly operated out of the BetPhoenix (SBR rating C) facility in 2010 before being ejected. During the Go-To stay,
BetPhoenix paid $10,000 to delinquent accounts.
On December 10th, 2010, a GoToEntertainment group player
reported not being paid two Moneybookers withdrawals totaling $5,000. Since then, SBR has received little from GoTo group players. Those with feedback are urged to write to help@sportsbookreview.com, or to submit a
sportsbook complaint form detailing their situations. Alternatively, players may dial 1-830-255-4677 during normal business hours to speak with an SBR dispute analyst.
09.17.2011 03:29 PMBetAtHome accuses player of chip-dumpingA BetAtHome (SBR rating C-) player tells SBR that his account has been closed with a €600 balance. The player allegedly opened his account with
BetAtHome in the beginning of 2011, playing in the sportsbook and poker room. The player had made two small initial deposits of €100. The player tells SBR that he was paid one €400 withdrawal prior to having his account closed with a €600 balance. BetAtHome has reportedly accused the player of poker chip-dumping with at least one other account holder, a charge this player denies.
Poker chip-dumping is the act of colluding with other players, typically to circulate ill-gotten funds or as a means of moving funds between accounts. It can be a way to evade an insufficient deposit or to dispose of funds taken from other players. While chip-dumping cannot be proven 100% of the time, usually a sportsbook that brings players up on the charge will have other circumstantial evidence linking the players beyond their play; most times an IP address, shared registration detail or similar.
SportsbookReview is investigating this BetAtHome complaint.
09.16.2011 06:49 PMSportsbook.com stalls $24,000 payout requestA Sportsbook.com player tells SBR that he requested a $24,000 payout ten weeks ago. The withdrawal was cancelled due to alleged "processing issues" at the time. The player was told that he would be given a priority withdrawal on his subsequent request (which was made on August 17th, 2011). The player tells SBR that his funds have yet to be received, and that an email was sent to him offering a $1,000 bonus if he were to agree to cancel the payout request.
This is the third report of a Sportsbook.com (ag) player being deliberately slow-paid and having a bonus-carrot dangled in front of them to terminate their withdrawal request.
On September 12th, SBR reported that a
Sportsbook.com player has been unable to withdraw $250 from his account since July 8th. The payout was cancelled due to alleged processing issues, and despite being promised to be given a high priority following that botched withdrawal, the only action the player was a Sportsbook.com email offering him a cash bonus for not taking his funds out.
On September 14th, another
Sportsbook.com player report having his payout stalled in exchange for accepting a bonus. The player wrote to SBR that a $4,000 payment was cancelled on July 19th, 2011 due to alleged processor problems. Like the other two reports, the player was told that his next withdrawal request would be assigned a higher priority in light of the hiccup. The player resubmitted a $5,000 withdrawal request on August 19th. Sportsbook.com has yet to render payment to the player.
Sportsbook.com management has yet to provide comment to SBR on any of the three complaints.
09.15.2011 04:32 PMJazzSports payout troublesJazzSports (SBR rating D) users report being owed $206,255. On August 4th, 2011,
SportsbookReview reported that the slow-pay sportsbook told players that payments would be made during the beginning of the football season. To date, none of the players have confirmed payment. One of the players who is owed more than $100,000 posted today on SBRforum indicating that he has not received
payment from JazzSports in over six months. The player also pointed out that he has been limited to $250 maximum wagers and placed on a 30-second delay at the sportsbook.
JazzSports, which also operates LooseLines,ABC Islands and JazzBet has been lowered from a
sportsbook rating of D+ to D. SBR will update this report as players confirm payment or as more information becomes available.
09.14.2011 04:25 PMScam Alert: Sportsbook.com stalling payouts by offering bonusesA Sportsbook.com (SBR rating D-) player tells SBR that a $4,000 payment was cancelled on August 19th, 2011 due to processor problems. The player was told to submit another payout request and that it would be given priority due to the first botched withdrawal. The player resubmitted a payout request for $5,000 on August 19th. As of September 14th, 2011,
Sportsbook.com (ag) has not rendered payment to the player.
The player is the second to report receiving an email from the dodgy,
blacklisted sportsbook offering him a 20% bonus up to $1,000 for canceling his withdrawal. On September 12th, SBR reported that
Sportsbook.com offered a bonus to a player for cancelling his withdrawal request.
Sportsbook.com has developed an unfavorable reputation for its treatment of winning players, and is most notorious for confiscating over $100,000 from players that wagered correlated parlays years ago. Sportsbook.com's maintains a rating of D- in the

09.13.2011 03:09 PMBetPhoenix correlated parlays wagering dispute updateOn September 7th, SBR reported that a
BetPhoenix player's account was frozen. The player held a balance of $7,226 with the sportsbook. The winnings were derived from correlated parlay play; BetPhoenix (SBR rating C) was accepting IF Bet wagers for Major League Baseball that gave the player an overwhelming edge against the house. Correlated parlays typically involve a number of high expectation combinations, sometimes including obvious errors like the ability to bet the same team for the first half and game. While the player was unwilling to disclose his complete balance history, he did concede having withdrawn more than what was lost placing the correlated wagers; most recently depositing $326 and withdrawing $850.
BetPhoenix confirmed that the player's balance account was frozen and then negatively adjusted to account for the play. The mistake and the inability to identify the error are believed to be attributed to a large reduction in staff for budget reasons. The BetPhoenix lines staff is said to be smaller than its been in years.

09.08.2011 11:05 AMWSEX Sportsbook payout complaints updateWSEX (SBR rating D-) players are hopeful that the start of the football season will alow the slow-pay sportsbook to get back in the black. WSEX once held a rating of A+ at SportsbookReview in June of 2006.
WSEX lost its status as an A-rated sportsbook in April of 2009, and continued to slide through the
sportsbook ratings guide until it eventually found itself on the
sportsbook blacklist in March of 2011.
WSEX has been the subject of several payment complaint newswires throughout 2010 and 2011. The formerly high-ranked sportsbook was considered one of the industry's most financially sound sportsbooks, even having a hand in the formulation of popular betting exchange
Matchbook (SBR rating B). Matchbook officially
severred all business ties with WSEX after coming under new ownership, distancing itself from the failing operation.
Sixty-eight WSEX players report $488,233 in delinquent withdrawals. The outstanding requests date back to October of 2009. The last surge of WSEX payouts was recorded during the beginning of the 2010 football season, when

09.07.2011 06:17 PMBetPhoenix correlated parlays wagering dispute
A BetPhoenix (SBR rating C) player reports that his account has been frozen. The player holds a $7,226 balance with the sportsbook. The player was placing MLB correlated parlays. SBR is investigating this sportsbook complaint and gathering facts such as the deposit history, wagering history, and most importantly what type of correlated parlay this was. A
correlated parlay could involve a number of high expectation combinations, such as an obvious sportsbook error like offering the ability to bet on the same team in the first half and for the game per event. The sportsbook allowing extremely low-risk bets over the long term creates mediation challenges, especially when offered over an extended period of time.
The BetPhoenix player reports that after logging into his account on September 5th, he was prompted by a message which reportedly stated that he would not be given any action until it was determined "how much you robbed from us".
The sportsbook's mistake and the inability to identify the error early on is likely attributed to the BetPhoenix staffing cuts for budget reasons. The sportsbook lines staff is said to be at its lowest in years and to be stretched with added responsibilties. | Forum discussion: BetPhoenix dispute
09.05.2011 07:13 PMGTBets.com to pay VIP Sportsbook, BetGameday, Nine.com playersGTBets.com (SBR rating C) tells SBR that they will honor
VIP Sportsbook players funds. GTBets.com is a new sportsbook that surfaced when VIP Sportsbook, BetGameday and Nine.com went off-line on August 1st, 2011. GTBets acquired the VIP Sportsbook software, hardware and retained key management. GTBets first came to light when they began
spamming marketing offers to former VIP players, which included those account-holders usernames at VIP.
On July 15th, SBR
reported that VIP Sportsbook was preparing to cease operations. VIP, BetGameday and Nine.com advised bettors via their homepages to request balances prior to August 1st, 2011. However, more than thirty players failed to see the warning on time and reported not being paid their final balances - worth more than $45,000. SBR continued to report that seasonal sports bettors missed the messages, reporting not being called or emailed with a heads up as to the closure of the Curacao based sportsbook family. A VIP manager
claimed on August 16th that players in the attached SBR list would receive payment, but that there was no support or accounting team able to service future player claims.
SBR first spoke with GTBets.com Thursday September 1st. Originally GTBets.com was prepared to offer VIP players a deal that if they made their final payout requests prior to October 1st, 2011, they would receive credits to their GTBets accounts and would be fully able to make withdrawals without playing requirements. After speaking with SBR further, GTBets took the restrictions off the good faith gesture so that all players able to confirm their final VIP balances would be able to be credited. |

Thirty-nine players report that they were not paid their funds prior to VIP Sportsbook going offline on August 1st, 2011. The Curacao based operator claims to not have the manpower nor the ability to process additional payouts. The sportsbook company claimed in discussions with SportsbookReview that players were given sufficient notice to access their accounts to initiate their payment requests. 09.02.2011 07:27 PMNorthBet added to sportsbook ratings guideNorthBet.com (SBR rating C-) is an invite-only sportsbook located in San Jose, Costa Rica. SBR confirmed that a number of former
BetUS (SBR rating D+) managers are behind the operation. Earlier this year, NorthBet paid $15,000 to a player that allegedly forged a cash-transfer receipt by increasing the amount one zero. NorthBet communicated with SportsbookReview throughout the dispute. The decision to pay the player vice refunding the actual deposit was made to avoid any unwanted press while the sportsbook was in its infancy, and due to the player legitimately increasing the balance credited via his casino play. NorthBet claims to be a stand-alone company that operates a niche
business model, with plans to expand its offerings to include fantasy
football for customers, as well as a dedicated mobile platform aimed at
the latest smart phone browsers. NorthBet's marketing team operates out
of Montreal, Canada. NorthBet only accepts US based registrations.
NorthBet players with feedback are asked to write to help@sportsbookreview.com. As with all new online sportsbooks, players are advised to exercise caution. Many sportsbooks run -EV promotions to drum up business and get players to bet on their
NFL picks at the start of football season, and could potentially flat-line without adequate risk management precautions.
NorthBet has been added to the

09.01.2011 07:11 PMBetGrizzly sportsbook payouts? A BetGrizzly (unrated) player has filed a
sportsbook complaint. The player tells SBR that he deposited to BetGrizzly after being lured in by their attractive bonuses, and because he had prior dealings with "Chuck" (formerly of WagerWeb). The player tells SBR that
BetGrizzly gives out 25% in freeplays per day, and that by his estimation he has received nearly $2,000 in freeplays in his short time with the online sportsbook. After having success with his wagers, the player tells Sportsbook Review that his balance was increased to $4,000. He has been trying to withdraw funds for the last week via a cash transfer service, and has to date not received payment, despite BetGrizzly advertising same-day payouts through those methods.
Players are advised to use extreme discretion in choosing which online sportsbook to send their funds to.
Unrated sportsbooks just starting out have a high failure rate in this industry. Many of these sportsbooks will promise 100% bonuses or other daily incentives to entice players to play with them over more established sportsbooks. |

08.31.2011 06:14 PMVIP Sportsbook players owed $42,345VIP Sportsbook players report being owed $42,345.
On July 15th,
SBR reported that VIP Sportsbook and sister sites BetGameday and Nine.com would be closing their doors on August 1st, 2011. A message was placed atop each sportsbook homepage prompting bettors to request their funds by that time. Numerous seasonal sports bettors that did not log-in to see the notice report not receiving any email or phonecall alerts from VIP Sportsbook to withdraw their balances.
On August 16th, "Jay" (a former VIP Sportsbook operations manager) told SBR that the players who filed sportsbook complaints would be paid. However, no mention was made of the sports bettors that have not yet contacted SportsbookReview, or who have not logged into their accounts to recognize the closure. On August 31st, SBR spoke with the VIP manager over telephone and it was stated that while players in the attached list would receive payment, no further payouts would be made. The manager claimed that the VIP Sportsbook office had closed and that there was no dedicated support team or contacts to field player inquiries, it was also stated that the primary reason for shutting the operation down was the difficulty of working with payment processors.
SBR will update this report.
08.30.2011 09:16 AMSportsAlive - the online sportsbook down under goes underIn the days following SportsAlive's collapse, reports indicate that bettors are expected to be out hundreds of thousands of dollars. The Australian sportsbook was unrated by SportsbookReview, but held a gaming license with the Australian Capital Territory Government. The license required a security bond of $250,000, though that amount is not believed to be near enough to honor player balances. A
HeraldSun report indicates that one bettor alone is apparently owed $110,000. The private company's unexpected closure has been the subject of discussion at SBRforum, in industry topic
SportsAlive ceases operations.
Some readers point out that customer funds were supposed to be held in escrow, removed from their day-to-day operations under ACT regulations, however it remains to be seen whether the company was in full compliance of this requirement. A liquidator was appointed to the SportsAlive case on Thursday, August 25th, 2011.
In addition to punters, investors in SportsAlive are believed to be out up to $5 million. The Australian state-run betting agency TOTE Tasmania reportedly held a 25% stake in the betting company.
TheMercury reports that a number of private investors were affected, including investor Peter Sidwell who is expected to lose in the neighborhood of $500,000. SportsAlive reportedly turned a profit of $9 million in the past two years. It is currently unknown how SportsAlive mismanaged its asset or was in the position of trading whilst insolvent. 08.28.2011 06:30 PMFree football handicapping contests registering!SBRforum's "Beat The Prick"
football handicapping contest is back! Contestants will square off each week in an attempt to defeat "The Prick", the unkempt forum mascot known for his signature southern charm and pithy one-liners. "The Prick" makes four football picks at the start of each week, taking those picks off the board while forum contestants choose from that weekend's NFL and NCAAF slate of sides and totals. Those who outscore "The Prick" with a positive units record receive a weighted share of 50,000 SBR points per week. Standings are kept each week and at the conclusion of the contest the top eight finishers receive part of a whopping $10,000 prize. Contestants are mathematically eligible to claim the grand prize if they join the football handicapping contest prior to week four. The cash is paid to the winners with no strings attached after the 15th NFL week.
Another free, big prize handicapping contest is also registering for months one and two of the football year. The free SBRforum football contest is a picks pool that all users with valid SBRforum accounts are eligible to play, the unique contest offers prizes like a 55'' LG TV for first place (valued at more than $1,500), stereo equipment, laptops and more. All users must do is register for the
free football contest here.
These contests take place on

08.26.2011 05:20 PMVIP Sportsbook players owed $31,153The SBR mailbag is growing with letters from
VIP Sportsbook, Nine.com and BetGameDay players. The sportsbook family went off-line on August 1st, 2011, and has yet to pay all players.
On July 15th,
Sportsbook Review reported that the VIP Sportsbook group was preparing to shut its doors. In that report, SBR relayed the message hung on the VIP websites directing players to request their balances prior to August 1st. Many players never saw the message, however, and currently thirty players report not being paid $31,153. The amount seems relatively small considering that the family of sportsbooks has been online more than a decade, and was once considered an industry titan. While the exact amount of outstanding funds is unknown, SBR has received at least one report per day in the last two weeks of unpaid funds. Seasonal sports bettors were left blindsided by the move, many only logging into their accounts near the start of the football year. Players state that no email notices were sent advising them to request their funds, and that follow-up emails to the VIP support line have went unanswered.
SBR is attempting to make contact with "Jay", a former operations manager with VIP Sportsbook who claimed on August 16th that players would receive their final payment shortly. Jay also addressed the emergence of GtBets.com—a website hosted on VIP Sportsbook's server, which shares the same layout, customer service numbers—by acknowledging that former employees are behind the venture. On August 15th, SBR reported that
GTbets.com was sending marketing emails to former VIP players containing their VIP log-in information. While GTbets.com has not provided official comment on any connection to the now off-line VIP Sportsbook group, the operation is also headquartered in Curacao.
SBR is hopeful that the disconnect between the VIP Group and its former players is attributable to technical challenges following the sites closure and the termination of support mailboxes. SBR will update this report as any of the reported thirty players confirm receiving their funds, or as more non-payment reports surface.
08.26.2011 10:06 AMBookmaker and DSI maintenanceBookmaker (SBR rating A+) and
Diamond Sportsbook (SBR rating A+) are performing a quick upgrade which will cause the sites to be down for approximately 45 to 60 minutes. No phone wagering or mirror site access will be possible during this period. Management tells SBR it is routine software maintenance.
08.25.2011 04:36 PMSBR adds Live Betting Sportsbooks listSportsbook Review has added a top
Live Betting Sportsbooks list. The comprehensive list features the best eight online sportsbooks that offer live betting to their customers. The list is ordered by potential monetary benefit and not according to
SBR ratings.
Live, in-game betting is one of the most popular new ways to wager with
online sportsbooks. Live betting allows you to place wagers on events
which have already started, and are in progress. There are many reasons
to bet in-game. You can increase your position, or hedge your position
out of a match. There are many subtleties to in-game betting that
present opportunity to the intelligent bettor. Indeed, there are
professional players that specialize only in live betting.
One of the factors to consider when selecting a sportsbook to place in-game wagers with is the 'line set' used. A bookmaker turns a profit by setting a surcharge, or “juice” behind
each line set. The lower this charge is, the more attractive to punters.
A standard -110 line set is known as a 20-cent line. A bookmaker using a
standard -110 line requires a player to risk $110 for the chance to win
$100 when the price is Pick’em. The extra $10 is the vigorish. Live
betting sportsbooks typically configure their line sets between 20 and
40 cents. A 20-cent line has a house edge of about 4.5%, whereas the
player is giving up an average of 8.3% versus a 40-cent line.
In addition to showing the respective bonuses and line sets offered by each sportsbook, the live betting chart includes wagering limits, frequency, sportsbook software and mobile betting support.
08.24.2011 07:08 PMBetmotion sportsbook payout complaintA Betmotion sportsbook (unrated) player has filed a payment complaint. On July 20th, 2011, the player requested a withdrawal of €292. The payment request was to be filled through Moneybookers — one of the most popular withdrawal methods for online sportsbook players — but as the player details, no payment has been made to him. The player has grown increasingly anxious over the state of his withdrawal request as he has read other Betmotion news reported by SBR.
On July 28th 2011, a
BetMotion player claimed that his account was unfairly shutdown. The player reported having a €1,741.97 balance and that his requests for support went unanswered. The complaint remains outstanding.
Players with Betmotion feedback are asked to write to help@sportsbookreview.com
08.23.2011 06:46 PMVIP Sportsbook players owed $29,063Twenty-five
VIP Sportsbook (SBR rating B-) players report being owed $29,063. The players did not request payment of their account balances prior to the August 1st, 2011 deadline imposed by VIP. On July 15th, SportsbookReview reported that the
VIP Sportsbook group announced that it would be closing. While VIP management initially told SBR that players were given ample notice to initiate payout requests, several players have reported that they were not given any heads up.
On August 15th, SBR reported that
Gtbets.com (SBR rating C) surfaced targeting VIP Sportsbook Group players. GTbets.com shares the VIP Sportsbook server, customer service numbers and website skin. In addition, players forwarded marketing mailers which contained their VIP username and passwords. VIP Sportsbook operations manager "Jay" told SBR on August 16th that VIP, Nine.com and BetGameday have nothing to do with GTBets. The manager confirmed that former employees are now working on the site.
SBR will update this report.
Players in need of sportsbook assistance are asked to fill out a sportsbook complaint form.

08.22.2011 06:16 PMMyBet sportsbook disputeA
MyBet sportsbook (SBR rating D+) player tells SportsbookReview that he made a payout request for €6200 on August 16th, 2011 through Moneybookers. The player reports that he was told that there were technical issues within the payouts department that prevented MyBet from willing his withdrawal. The player was told that he would receive his funds by Monday, August 22nd but has not yet been credited.
While only waiting for four business days, the player has grown apprehensive over the state of the D+ rated Mybet, a Malta based operation that has confiscated winnings in the past after
alleging account theft. SBR urges bettors to use extreme caution when choosing to deposit with lowly rated sportsbooks with troubled histories. SBR is following up on this player's sportsbook complaint. |

08.21.2011 04:28 PMVIP Sportsbook balance holders asked to write to help@sportsbookreview.comThree new players have written Sportsbook Review to launch complaints against VIP Sportsbook,
Nine.com and
BetGameday. The three players are owed $1,030, $900, and $600 collectively. Each player reports that no notice was delivered to their registered email address informing them of the
VIP Sports group closure. VIP management initially told SBR that players were given multiple notices each, in addition to the prominent ad atop its homepage prompting bettors to withdraw their funds. The players point out that they are seasonal bettors who were unaware of the closure, and that they discovered the closure when trying to access their accounts for the NFL preseason.
SBR last heard from a VIP manager on Tuesday August 16th. The manager stated that players who did not request their balances in time would be paid once financial processes completed allowing VIP to send a final wave of funds. None of the 18 players on SBR's list have yet reported payment. The players are owed $12,183. SBR will update this report.

08.19.2011 04:42 PMSuperbook.com sportsbook withdrawal complaintsA
Superbook.com (SBR rating D-) player tells Sportsbook Review that he asked for an $1,800 withdrawal on July 10th, 2011, and a $650 withdrawal on July 20th, 2011. Neither of the players requests have been paid by the
Sportsbook.com skin, Superbook.com. SBR is following up on this
sportsbook complaint.
Sportsbook.com recently made SBR's front-page
online sportsbook news section for their cancelation of $7,030 in winnings from a player that had requested exclusion from Sports.com months prior. Sportsbook.com management has yet to address that complaint with SBR dispute analyst "Justin7". Sportsbook.com has a long history of unethical and unjust confiscations of winning players, the most noteworthy of such negative adjustments was the voiding of more than seven figures worth of "
correlated parlay" winnings. Sportsbook.com's software accepted wagers that the sportsbook said violated house rules, and the sportsbook adjusted the balances of winning players after the bets were both accepted and grading, leading to their placement on the
SBR sportsbook blacklist at D-.
08.18.2011 04:37 PMVIP Sportsbook updateSince SBR's last
VIP Sportsbook update on August 16th, an additional two users have reported that they held balances which have not been paid as of August 18th, 2011. The players did not request their funds prior to the August 1st deadline set by VIP Sports after the company closure was announced.
VIP Sportsbook,
Nine.com and
BetGameday are currently off-line. The total amount of outstanding funds owed to users is now $10,876.
A VIP Sportsbook operations manager claimed that the players who did not request payment in time would receive payment. SBR has followed up to inquire on whether accommodations would also be made for players that did not contact SBR not VIP Sportsbook to arrange to be paid their final balances. SBR will update this sportsbook report as more information becomes available.|
VIP Sportsbook players outraged
08.17.2011 04:11 PMBetRoyal Sportsbook player's payout attemptA BetRoyal (SBR rating D-) player tells Sportsbook Review that he is attempting to place a withdrawal for $700 via a cash transfer method. The player has allegedly been waiting five days for the funds to be removed from his online sportsbook wagering account. The player reports that he has called
BetRoyal posing as a potential signup and that he was told that withdrawal amounts are removed from accounts within three hours during the normal working day, with payment subsequently made in one day per either of the cash transfer methods. The player tells SBR that he called BetRoyal's bluff and pointed out that he has been waiting longer than what's advertised by the sportsbook. The player's first deposit to BetRoyal was for $25 in January of 2011. He estimates that in his time wagering with the online sportsbook that he has lost in the neighborhood of $1,000. The player reports that this is his first payout request to date. While not yet officially considered a slow-pay, BetRoyal's dodgy service highlights a tactic atypical of a
D- rated sportsbook — both failing to honor its listed withdrawal times and not removing funds from a player account until the minute the funds are ready to be dispatched, prompting the bettor to battle the temptation of losing his balance prior to payment.
SBR will update this
sportsbook report if this BetRoyal withdrawal attempt turns into a slow-pay situation. SBR generally considers slow payment to be two weeks+ after the quoted time-frame.
The most noteworthy complaint against
BetRoyal sportsbook occurred in July of 2008, when a player filed a $500,000 claim against the company. The complaint surrounded a group of players who were invited by BetRoyal management four years prior to trade prices and betting odds at BetRoyal against other online sportsbooks. The player's invested deposits of $86,000 eventually earned a balance of $586,000. In the week preceedeing
SBG Global's (SBR rating D-) acquition of BetRoyal, the BetRoyal website was taken off the servers and when it returned -- the $586,000 was removed from the account. After a thorough review of available facts, SBR concluded that BetRoyal erased the winnings in order to take its labilities off the books prior to selling to SBG Global.
08.16.2011 02:27 PMVIP Sportsbook says players will be paidA former VIP Sportsbook (SBR rating B-) operations manager has contacted Sportsbook Review today stating that players who did not request payment in the allotted time—the
August 1st deadline—would be paid. The manager explained that the two individuals SBR had communicated briefly with were no longer servicing exiting VIP players inquiries and that their mailboxes were not being monitored. The manager stated that he would be contacting players on SBR's list to inform them that they would be paid soon. SBR questioned VIP as to the relationship with
GTbets.com (SBR rating C), the newly surfaced sportsbook that shares VIP servers, software and customer support. The manager denied a business overlap from an ownership perspective, but conceded that former employees of
VIP Sports are managing the new brand.
Players that did not request payment from VIP Sportsbook prior to the August 1st deadline where VIP Sportsbook,
Nine.com and
BetGameDay announced their closure are advised to write to help@sportsbookreview.com with their account usernames and balance information.
08.16.2011 09:15 AMSportsbook.com player speaks out against his winnings theftThe Sportsbook.com (ag) player from SBR's August 15th
report has spoken out about the $7,030 in winnings which were confiscated from him. The player tells Sportsbook Review that he began playing with Sports.com in late 2008, and had racked up more than $10,000+ annually in losses to the company. In January of 2011, the player demanded Sports.com exclude him from the sportsbook due to problem gambling.
On August 11th, 2011, the player deposited $1,000 with
Sportsbook.com (ag) and proceeded to win more than $7,000, bringing his account balance up to $8,030 in under 24 hours. The player was then told that due to Sportsbook.com (ag) having acquired Sports.com's players and forcing an official merger months earlier, his winnings would be nullified due to the self-imposed problem gambing ban. The player points out that when he wagered with Sports.com, there was no obvious connection or relationship between the two companies, and that his account signup and deposit were allowed. The player's $1,000 in funds were at risk as the sportsbook accepted all his bets, and only after he increased his balance to $8,030 was his account suspended. The player tells SBR that as of August 16th, 2011, his deposit had not been refunded. SBR dispute analyst "Justin7" has not been provided comment from Sportsbook.com management yet.
08.15.2011 07:31 PMALERT: GtBets.com operating on VIP Sportsbook server, sharing phone number & website skinGtbets.com (unrated) has surfaced and is targeting slow-pay sportsbook VIP Sportsbook (SBR rating B-) players.
VIP Sports announced that it would be closing down on July 15th, and asked players to withdraw their balances prior to August 1st, 2011. Fourteen players report not receiving $9,382. A VIP Sports security team advisor, as well as a customer service represent have told SBR that no additional payments will be made to players that did not know to request their funds by August 1st. SBR has written and attempted to call VIP each day following those statements, last receiving a response Thursday August 12th.
It is not yet known whether Gtbets.com purchased a customer list from VIP Sports, or whether an unofficial rebranding has taken place. Players that have not been paid were given no additional updates from VIP Sports.
SBR is following up on this latest development and will update this report. |
