The Florida Gators have lived up to being the top overall seed in the Big Dance, as they look to advance past the Connecticut Huskies and earn a spot in the national title game. How are the betting odds shaping up at this point for this Final Four battle?
Let’s take a closer look at the NCAA Tournament odds for this
Final Four matchup at AT&T Stadium, with the opening tip scheduled for 6:09
p.m. ET on TBS.
Florida has won a program-record 30 games in a row, including a
62-52 victory over the Dayton Flyers as 10.5-point favorites in the Sweet 16
Round last Saturday, while going UNDER the betting total of 134.
The Gators are the third team to win all four games en route to a
Final Four by double digits, while holding each opponent to under 70 points.
Over the last two-plus seasons, the program is 4-0 SU and 3-1 ATS
as neutral court favorites of 3.5 to 6 points.

Back in the national spotlight
Connecticut will be playing in its fifth NCAA Final Four, as it
advanced past the Michigan State Spartans by picking up a 60-54 victory as
five-point underdogs Sunday, while going UNDER the betting total for the first
time in four opportunities.
The Huskies have captured three national titles since 1999, which
will make them an attractive wager in the futures market to win it all.
College basketball handicappers will find that the Huskies are
39-9 SU and 25-20-3 ATS in NCAA Tournament games since 1997.
The Gators have compiled a dominating 35-11 SU record in NCAA
Tournament play under head coach Billy Donovan, as they focus on avenging a
65-64 defeat to the Huskies as four-point road underdogs on Dec. 2.
Donovan’s first phone call this week will likely be to Louisville
Cardinals head coach Rick Pitino, as that team dominated the Huskies with their
defensive pressure in American Athletic Conference play.
The Huskies are capable of beating any team in the country due to
having playmaking point guard Shabazz Napier, who is averaging 23.3 points in
Napier had 26 points on 9 of 15 shooting against the Gators during
the regular season, and won’t shy away from the big stage of playing inside the
home of the Dallas Cowboys.
I’m going to recommend that readers back the Gators as one of
their Final Four picks, as they’ve covered the number in 20 of their last 29
NCAA Tournament games.
