The Philadelphia 76ers continue their five game
road trip on Wednesday night at Staples Center, where they'll be taking on Blake Griffin and the
Los Angeles Clippers.
These two teams
will duke it out starting at 10:30 ET in a game that should be very
entertaining for NBA betting fans to sink their teeth into.
Iguodala and Brand Status Key
Both Elton Brand
and Andre Iguodala both have some ailments that might be keeping them down in
this one. Brand has been dealing with a nagging hand injury, though he hasn't
missed any time for it. Iguodala has some swelling in his knee, but just like
Brand, there hasn't been any time missed.
These two are the
top scorers on the team this year, but both seem to be underachieving. However,
Brand has played in 66 of 67 games this season, which is a huge triumph in
itself. He is good for 15.0 PPG and 8.5 RPG on the campaign, and though those
numbers aren't as good as they once were when he was playing with these LA Clippers, but they're still fantastic stats.
Iguodala is a man that is capable
of scoring 20+ points every single night. He has done a bit of everything this
year, scoring 14.4 PPG, 6.0 RPG, and 6.4 APG. However, that scoring average
really should be going up, especially if the Sixers want to be in the second
season as a legitimate contender.
Do keep your eyes
on Louis Williams, Jrue Holiday, Thaddeus Young, and Jodie Meeks as well, as
these are all double digit point scorers on average.
Home Sweet Home for Griffin, Clip Joint
Eric Gordon might
still be a week or so away from getting back in the lineup, but Blake Griffin
is still around, and he is just as dominating as he has ever been. The big man
is averaging 22.3 PPG and 12.2 RPG on the campaign, and he is clearly the heart
and soul of this club.
Griffin has to be
glad that this road trip is over with. He has had six straight double-doubles
at home, and he is coming off of one of his worst games of the season on the
road at the Memphis Grizzlies. He only scored eight points and had nine boards
in that clash against the Grizz.
Home has been
where the heart is for the this team. This is only going to be the fourth home
game since February 2 for the Clippers, and they haven't lost to a team not named
either the Boston Celtics or Chicago Bulls since January 2 against the Atlanta
Making the NBA Picks
The Philadelphia 76ers have
covered four straight games against Pacific Division foes, while they are
21-8-1 ATS when coming off of an SU defeat. Philly is also 13-6 ATS in its last
19 road games against teams that have winning road records.
Clippers just have the better trends here. LA has covered six straight games as
home favorites of fewer than five points, and it is 7-1 ATS in its last eight
home games against teams with a winning percentage on the road of .400 or
Sure, LA is 3-8
ATS in its last 11 against the Atlantic Division, but this is going to be where
that trend gets busted. The Clip Joint are deservedly one point favorites on the
NBA betting lines, lines which we are excited to jump on.
