Orlando Magic,San ANtonio Spurs,NBA Picks

Dwight Howard seems to be sticking around for the Orlando Magic's matchup with the San Antonio Spurs. See where I am laying my money tonight, as we try to build our bankrolls for March Madness.
The NBA schedule is a busy one on the eve of the NCAA tournament. Twenty-four of the thirty teams in
the association are in action tonight, and one of the games in prime time on
national television, features the Magic and the Spurs. The Magic played last
night and pulled out a great comeback victory against the Heat in Orlando,
104-98. Dwight Howard had 24 points and 26 rebounds.
Spurs had the night off and welcome in the Magic after a stretch of serious mediocrity.
The Spurs are a .500 team over their last eight games and in the four wins, they
didn’t beat anyone of significance. This will be a good test for both of these
clubs. One of which is trying to get back on track and one is trying to
convince their superstar to stay around.
NBA odds makers have opened the spread
in favor of the Spurs by -5.5. Many NBA betting shops have already moved that number to 6.5 with a total of 192.
Superman to fly soon
this season is over, and when free agency hits, and Dwight Howard leaves
Orlando the first chance he gets; Magic fans are going to feel like that
boyfriend/girlfriend who just got played for multiple years. “Oh things will
change, baby.” “All I want is to be happy!” “This just isn’t working out!”
“Maybe we can work things out..”
this has made me sick. I love Howard as a player, but he has almost botched
this situation worse then Lebron James did. This has obviously affected the
team. Word is now that Dwight will stay in Orlando to finish out the season.
This is a huge mistake for the Magic’s front office. They have bought into the
lies once again and are willing to give the relationship one last chance, (only
to see it blow up in their faces this summer).
way, last night’s victory could help a little bit, but I doubt it. Tonight
could help too, but for my NBA basketball pick on this game, I’m leaning
towards the home team. The Magic are coming off of a back to back and had to
travel from Orlando to San Antonio last evening. After an overtime game, that
Life of the forgotten
San Antonio Spurs really have been undervalued and forgotten about this whole season. If it
wasn’t for the fact that they are in second place in the Western Conference despite being
without arguably their best player all season, people would never even mention
their names. In the sports media world, Tim Duncan is already retired, Tony
Parker is just a second tier great player and the Spurs are old.
couldn’t be farther from the truth. Not only are the Spurs still great, they
are still title contenders. Don’t let the bad loss to the Grizzlies last year
in the first round fool you. Tim Duncan is averaging better numbers then he did
last season, while Tony Parker is having
an MVP season. It’s easy to overlook Parker with the wealth of talent at the
point guard position, but this guy does it every single night. Plus, the “old”
label cannot be used with these Spurs. Yes, Duncan and Ginobli are a little
older. However, Parker is only 29 and the core group of players for San Antonio
are all around 25-years old.
The Sharp Pick
want to lay the points with the Spurs in this spot. The Magic had an emotional
game last night, but that only means there is a 50/50 chance they either come
our flat or come out on fire. That is too much of a risk for me, especially
with a -5.5 point spread.
I’m heading to my sportsbook in favor of the under. Trending data goes against
this pick, but the one time these two faced each other this season was back in
January, and the final score was 85-83…in overtime! The Magic and Spurs had
played the night before and both were excellent on defense. The Magic and Spurs
rank very well on defense, and I see another low scoring game in the high
eighties, or low nineties.
