The Hawks have been struggling of late, dropping seven of their last eight. But six of those losses have been on the road, and Atlanta will get a win and cover vs. the NJ Nets.
Yes, the Nets have finally won a couple of games. However, beating the Heat in Miami and then the Hawks in Atlanta in a back-to-back situation, are two entirely different things.
The Heat have clearly given up on the season while New Jersey now must deal with a scrappy Hawks team that is itching to get back into the win column. Atlanta was blown out at Phoenix Tuesday and then lost at the Clippers on Wednesday. The Hawks have been off since then and they are excited about resuming their schedule with some home action!
Atlanta is not going on the road again for another week and they view this portion of their schedule as a crucial timeframe. The Hawks are a solid 12-9 at home this season and they are part of a group of teams, including the Nets, whom are trying for one of the last two playoff spots in the East.
Atlanta has struggled recently but the road has had a lot to do with that. At home the Hawks have won three of their last five and all three wins came by at least nine points. They can cover this number against a Nets team in a back-to-back spot. Play Atlanta minus the points for Saturday.
Free Pick: Hawks -6 (-110)
