    but my eye is set on this French broad...she's 23 and kinda too old to make a splash in the big arena

    Tbh in regards to whatever legacy she has I reckon most girls on the tour would love to have her career. Won each slam at least once and got to be number 1 in the world.
    But it probably stays at that. In an era where players like Sam Stosur, Flavia Pennetta, Marion Bartoli, and freaking Dinara Safina was able to become number 1 in the world and make a few slam finals I dunno, there was some times in those pre shoulder injury years where I felt she could have won more slams.
    But it's been the weakest era in women's tennis since the turn of the millennium so it's hard to judge anyone who's turned pronafter that.

    Classy way to handle situation. Taking full responsibility. It seems like something like this shouldn't happen with such a big time athlete; she should have known, and the doctors/trainers that she's probably paying a shit ton of money should be aware of these things also. Nothing more she can do about it, handling it the right way.

    I'll only say one bad thing about Maria, she's aged horribly. I just looked up how old she was, my guess was 33 or 34, she's 28! Ouch. She looks almost 40 to me. Must be that Chernobyl or something. Good thing she's got all that money for the plastic surgery and makeup she'll need when she actually is 40. I'll never forget those grunt battles she had with Serena over the years. "Uggh....Unnnn.... Uggggggghhh.... Unnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn!" It always seemed like it was more about who could squeal louder versus who actually won the point with those two. Like some kind of sexual frustration played out on a tennis court.     Because she is facing a minimum 2 year suspension, 4 years if proven she was "doping" on purpose. Because she is making a ton of money from endorsements, and she wants to at least retain some hope to keep some of those humongous contracts.

    * Decreased levels of lactate and urea in blood

    In a recent article on the drug, performance athlete Jake Shelley wrote that Meldonium is an anti-ischaemic drug used clinically to treat angina, myocardial infarction and chronic heart failure. It is manufactured in Latvia under the commercial name of Mildronate and is one of the countries largest exports, with turnover reaching EUR 65 million in 2013.

    Sports fans are being asked to believe Maria Sharapova took a substance known to enhance endurance performance for reasons other than the desire to enhance endurance performance.
