The scoreline is certainly surprising, but it's not like Nadal was playing that consistently well this week. The Berdych match was probably his best. Dimitrov was pretty terrible when he played him and Bolelli and Johnson were Bolelli and Johnson.

Huge win for Murray if he hangs on. Nadal's confidence will take a big shot again after he built it up this week. This is Rafa in his current state guys. It should not be totally shocking any more. He keeps saying that he's having trouble in pressure moments and this was certainly one.

Djokovic really has no business losing the French Open this year. Murray might be playing the 2nd best clay court tennis right now and I don't think he can win more than a set off Djokovic.

But of course, this match isn't over yet. It's clay and it's Murray who can lose his mental focus plenty.

Most worrying part for Rafa had to be that he couldn't do anything with Murray's serve. If Rafa isn't getting into an opponent's serve, his chances of winning are like most - very average at best.

    Very bizarre final.
It's interesting since the biological passports were introduced at around this time last year, Rafa has really struggled on the tour. 1 title, Round 4, DNP, Quarter Final at the Slams. even more mediorce results at the Masters 1000. So either it's too risky getting help and from that, without it he has looked a lot less sharp this year in general.
Those numbers would be ok for other ageing players but hardly for someone who has been supposedly in his peak the last few years, and coming off a Slam win in the last year.
The discussion is pointless if Nadal gets his stuff together for the French and makes the final which I imagine to many is still a likely outcome. Because they'll all talk about the 'comeback' and winning the French. But without the help...

You mean The Field vs. Rafa? Pinnacle has it at -264. While I do not think Rafa is going to win it, fukk those odds. You'd probably make out better taking opponent's MLs against him.

Just take Djokovic to win, his only competition is Murray in the field imo.
