I guess Arruabarrena needed to be down a set. She was up 3-0 to start the match and then lost 6 games in a row to drop the 1st set.

I would agree her form is pretty terrible at the moment but I like Min's chances here. For starters, she has been quite successful playing in the US and loves playing on clay. This surface is very slow for a hard court so will play to Min's advantage, whereas it will hamper Erakovic who uses her serve and big hitting to win. Erakovic is an error machine so on this slow surface, making her play extra shots will lead to quite a few UF errors. She is 0-6 here and struggles on clay and any slow surfaces for that matter.

I'm sure you're aware of it, but just in case you've forgotten, Coric is the no. 1 seed.

So if anyone in the main draw withdraws (or there's locker room chat saying it'll happen) Coric could easily tank/throw the match knowing he'll get the lucky loser (LL) spot anyway.

I ALWAYS stay away from the number one seed in the final stage of qualifying. I've seen them throw match that many times only to be given the LL spot the next day.

I actually put Coric in my "sure thing" parlay, but quickly removed him when I realised he was the no. 1 seed in the draw.

    I am aware of it.
IMO, Coric has such a character that he is playing to win even the practice matches. And he plays better and better in the latter rounds of tournaments, as he wins. If he will intentionally lose this qualify and go as the LL, he will be mentally affected, he will not play as good as he can in the main draw.
I trust Coric's character, more than the chance of him going in a unsportsmanlike behavior after hearing a withdraw gossip in the locker room.
If things go exactly the way you foretell, then, i will lose a parlay of 1 unit risk, in return, i will learn that i was wrong about Coric. That will be a good lesson

Coric lost to a 300+ ranking player in Dubai before getting the LL. No clue if he knew he would get it or not but realistically, he would have to have played pretty terrible to lose that match that he did.

I've been stung a few times with the LL thing and surprisingly, I've only noticed it despite betting tennis for a while now and never really knew how the LL worked til la few weeks ago.

Saw Coric in Davis cup against Serbia. He played well, but had some issues with hip or upper part of his leg. I don't know if he made that up, to slow down Troicki, when he was making that comeback, or he genuinly felt pain there.
Otherwise, I agree with both Makman and JC. I also believe that Coric has that champions mentality and will play to win everytime he steps on the court. But JC also has a valid point. Why would you take chances with those odds with so much juice, if you are familiar with the rules and know that there is a chance that no.1 seed (Q), will get the spot in the main draw, even before playing this match.

yes that is true. Probably he knew. Probably all was a fix. LL comes until the semifinal, winning against Murray with a monster +1300 line.
This shit business is full of conspiracy.

Like Honeybadger said, why would you take the chance at such shitty odds?

Think about it. It's only logical.

If Coric has a guaranteed spot in the main draw of a Masters 1000 Event, why the hell would he want to expend all that energy?

If it's a simple match he'd probably just go through the motions and win.

But if his opponent puts up a fight and Coric knows the result of this match is irrelevant to him, of course you can hardly blame him for tanking it.

If anything Coric's huge ego and massive confidence (which I happen to admire in him) would make him think he is a superstar who can go deep.. so tanking will only help him deeper into the tournament.

I admit Coric has high risk.
Thank you for your contribution, with this insight about Lucky Loser. I am sure many people in this board will benefit.

About my parlay i will let it stay the way it is.
the parlay i had yesterday had been fukked up by Dustov losing to McDonald, and Go Soeda losing to Bolt who is said to have some elbow issue. Today this parlay can be fukked up by "Lucky Loser Syndrome"

    Shit Business this is.
All about guessing the outcome of a flipping coin.
Dont get misunderstood, You dont win in this business guessing the heads or tails.
You win only if you are able to guess when the coin will stand on its edge.
And this fukking coin is no ordinary coin.
It stands on its edge way too frequently

    I dont get discouraged.
I made a mistake of betting on these qualify/1st rounds and resulted with a huge loss, and hurts deeply. I should have waited.

All players are thinking who will face in the second round, and probably they think losing in the first round and earning some money from different sources is a better choice for them, instead of playing sportsmanlike. It always happens, but somehow as IW started it happenede in almost all games. It is not fair.
Look at these games tennis players are losing to amateurs (who knows only how to throw the ball on the other side of the net), in a very theatrical way. Dogs are winning with "huge victories".
Coins stand on their edges one after another.
Instead of following these unique coins i made a mistake of predicting the results in a logical way, and paid the price.
I am just angry at myself
