No lines up yet so I'll just list the matches and update the odds later.
There are some serious flakes left on the men's side so tomorrow and who knows what the women's motivation will be so proceed with extreme caution.
As always, please give me your thoughts on agreements or disagreements and why.
12:00pm J Janowicz -160 v E Roger-Vasselin +140
Crazy Jerzy and a French guy -- uh no thanks.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1:00pm J Nieminen +190 v D Goffin -230
Nieminen is quality but I think Goffin wins. Goffin has a very good serve that gets him quite a few easy service points and is solid from both wings. Just really like his game and he needs more hard court matches so I think he will be motivated as well.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1:00pm C Wozniacki -475 v C Giorgi +380
Wozniacki "should" win this match pretty convincingly IF she is motivated to do so. She had a 1st set hiccup last match then proceeded to dominate again like she has for more than a month on the hard courts (only losses are twice to Serena in 3 sets). Giorgi is in poor form right now having lost 4 of her last 5 matches and the only win was this week against an unmotivated and out of condition Vanderweghe.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
2:30pm S Peng +125 v BG Muguruza -145
Muguruza is the more talented player but she is Dr Jekyll and Mr. Hyde on the court from set to set. Muguruza wins ... probably in straight sets.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
3:00pm G Garcia-Lopez +135 v D Young -155
GGL has been in awful form lately losing 6 in a row before beating the mental midget Brown in 3 sets in the 1R. Young has been playing pretty damn well this hard court season with a lot of wins under his belt and his two losses were quality (Raonic in Wash who was the tourney winner and Baby Fed in 3 sets in Toronto). Young has to be the choice here.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
3:00pm Y.H Lu -170 v M Pujol-Granollers +150
This match should take about 4 hours to play with these guys hitting 20 passive shots each until either Lu hits a backhand winner or makes an unforced error. Over 22.5 -110 might be the play here.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
3:00pm N Mahut +125 v A Seppi -145
French guy vs Italian guy. No thank you.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
4:00pm A Petkovic -285 v K Flipkens +243
Petkovic should be the winner. I think/hope she is motivated and she has been playing really well winning 8 of her last 10 matches with loses to Serena in the finals of Stanford and to Stephens who played one of her best matches of the summer.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
4:30pm P Andujar-Alba +180 v L Rosol -220
Rosol was shaky as shit today getting the retirement win from Harrison but it looked like he had started to get his game going a little bit in the 2nd set before the match ended. That was his first match of the hard court season so I'm hoping it can just be chalked up to rust. Andujar has a career record of 29-54 vs a clay court record of 378-236. Yes those numbers are right and proved Andujar only advanced to this round b/c he played dogshit Sijsling.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
5:00pm S Querry +120 v K Anderson -140
Fack both these guys. Whoever gets sand in their vagina first will lose.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
7:00pm J Isner -490 v M Kukushkin +390
Kukushkin is a good Challenger tour player but I don't think he has the game to get past Isner. With that said Isner is a damn flake this hard court season so with large chalk expected this is probably going to be a no/small play.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
7:00pm S Stosur +130 v E Bouchard -150
Stosur can cause some problems for the top players but I think the need for Bouchard to win a few matches and perform well in this event before the Open means Bouchard comes out motivated and wins in straight sets.
