    Players likely to tank this week before the USO...and those who need the court time

    Robredo has to be on top of the tanking list. From what I've read, the guy never wins more than one match a week before the USO. But will he tank today?

    On the women's side, Kvitova needs some court time (especially in comparison to her opponent).

    Thanks, Matt. I've never been one to fade players based on motivation (cause it's closer to mind reading than capping) but the Robredo thing seems solid. If not today, then the next match. Robredo loves the USO, just loves it and I doubt he would do anything to risk his chances of a nice, deep run there, especially with 3 of the big 4 struggling (or not there). Also recall what he did to Fed last year; which should give him confidence this year (should he end up on his side of the draw).

    Yeah I agree..... I have a feeling Mannarino may win today, along with a Robredo tank job. Also Donald young may not be that focused

    I think Steve Johnson will 'tank' today against Querrey. Johnson is just coming up as a big tourney player getting some quality wins, I think he will have that 'I'm too good for 250's' attitude coming in and get smoked by Sam to get ready for the Open.

    I don't think so Brodie.... These two play doubles together, it's competitive. Johnson likes this tourney.... He's 5-1 here. Second best to Isner. Johnson lost to Querry in a terrible effort 3 weeks ago. I think Johnson gets it back. Querry seemed uninterested yesterday

    When Steve isn't on the court this tourney he should be asking any and all takers to play tie-breaks with him. He could use some tie-break confidence. Maybe a 70 year old lady is available. It would help his mental game to whip he 7-0 in a tie break.

    In fact, last year, at this very tournament, I faded halep cause she had played a lot and I mean a lot of tennis. Surely she would save her strength for the uso. Of course she didn't.
