How many players do the big books have?

Just out of Curiosity, how many average bettors do you think the top 5 books have?

It's an interesting question, but better ones would be:

    1. How much is wagered at a top 5 book each month?
    2. What percentage of the $ wagered is "high juice" plays like live bets, teasers, etc?

    etc

No doubt about that. Look at your ticket numbers compared to the lines at the Vegas counters. Probably talking 8 figures in volume at the biggest books. Bet365 had 4 million active users in 2015 and took in about 500m in sportsbook profit.

Do you mean 9 figures? 99million max volume seems very small for those big books. Or are we talking monthly?

Vegas is small time compared to offshore and Europe

It is why Vegas moves off offshore lines all the time

Indeed - the whole of Vegas takes something like $5bn of bets in a year.

IBCbet takes $100bn+, and bet365 about $50bn. SBObet is also huge, and there are plenty of other sizable books in Asia. Then there's Pinnacle, the various US facing books, and a whole crapload of mid sized ones in Europe.

100Bn for IBCbet? That seems like a huge amount considering their mikey mouse limits on everything besides soccer.

Asian, rebranded as Maxbet. You need an agent to get an account.

Yeah ....... but soccer is absolutely mammoth. It's the sheer volume of games: England, Spain, France, Italy, Germany - each also have cup competitions for extra matches. Then there are the regional club competitions: ECL, UEFA, S American. All these are all very large limits. Then add on the various international competitions, lower leagues, etc etc.

Then there are literally dozens of other countries with smaller limits. For example, take a match in Holland today: Nijmegen vs Eagles. I can get $50k single bet there.

much much more than a thousand IMO
it is impossible to have a precise answer but bet365 must have way over 100.000 for sure. I know Twitter is not always relevant, but look https://twitter.com/bet365 they have 357K followers and imagine how bettor who don't bother to have a Twitter account... bet365 is probably the bookmaker with the most customers though, and they need to attract every month since a lot of bettors dont last long at all!

50k through the Mollybet app I presume, mostly from betfair though. Soccer is my main betting income.

Because every player that bothers to get an account through an agent usually plays for high stakes.

    Vodds rather than molly.

Soccer odds and especially juice makes me so jealous :-)

How do you find an agent? Why don't they just throw up a website online that people can deposited into?

I think it stems from the way they grew originally: gambling is illegal in a lot of Asia, so agents in each country were a much more practical way of handling transactions. As it happens, the setup they came up with turned out to be incredibly efficient in terms of expanding the business (the company only dates from 2006!), so there's not really a reason for them to change what's working.

Vodds is also good, but I like Molly because they offer different bookies, corner odds and give access to Basket, Tennis etc as well where Vodds is just the AH and over/under markets.

There are a few. Premiumtradings, Asianconnect, Eastbridge and VIPsportsbook.eu come to mind as trustworthy but I'm sure there are others. If you're from the US I believe VIPsportsbook is the only one that'll take you as a client but I'm not sure. Stay away from the smaller, shady asian ones that offer cashbacks on your losses. They all operate on very, very thin margins.

This may be a silly question but I am an American so this is all new to me, but what do these "agents" charge for this service? just to connect you to a Sportsbook? Do they charge a percentage do they charge a flat fee?

They make a commission on your turnover with the sportsbooks so they'll be happy to have you. Note the books they cater to have very little juice (reduced lines) so it's usually worth it to have an account (I'm talking Pinnacle, SBObet, Maxbet/IBCbet and some smaller ones). Don't expect any props etc though.

Most have no fees but some have a deposit fee but that is merely to offset their costs (e.g. if you deposit through Neteller, it costs them about 4% of that amount so they charge you 2% or so to offset some of it, because of their low margins). Not all do.

They'll never limit you and generally don't care if you win or lose. Most kinda like it if you win because they'll make more in commission...although it's slightly more complicated than that with some of the books they cater to, but that would take me too far.

Rather than having one players that plays a 5k bet, they rather have ten players playing 500 over and over again.
