Is there talk/opinions, that Bitcoin could go back to $1,000?

Raiders...what type of value ranges do you see Bitcoin reaching over the next 12 months?

3run- Your guess is as good as mine with BTC prices. I would like to see the price stabilize to gain more acceptance. It's seems that the mainstream's fear is the price fluctuation.

Wish I had more time to get into this.

How easy is it for Americans to cash it out for dollars? Any exchanges like Circle where bettors could have it stored as fiat vlaue?
The volatility of the alt. coins is crazy. It's dependent on publicity for the most part. I really liked ETH because a lot of big corporations like the theory but ETH is taking a beating now.

To cash out or save in dollars you would exchange the alt. coin to bitcoins and go the usual route.

    This was published January 6th.

    1. Many who used the terms 'blockchain' or 'distributed ledger' will learn they actually meant Ethereum
Ethereum will begin to demonstrate its power as less effort is required on the protocol (given the successful version 1.0 release on 31st July, 2015), and more development is focused on decentralized applications.

Moreover, Ethereum browsers like Meta Mask and Mist and the uPort wallet and self-sovereign Identity portal will be usable by the 99.5% of the world who aren’t computer programmers, so the average user will not have to access Ethereum via command-line.
The price of Ether will be over $1.15 by 29th February, 2016.

The unit of account of the bitcoin system is bitcoin. As of 2014, symbols used to represent bitcoin are BTC,[note 2] XBT,[note 3] and .[note 4][42]:2 Small amounts of bitcoin used as alternative units are millibitcoin (mBTC), microbitcoin (µBTC), and satoshi. Named in homage to bitcoin's creator, a satoshi is the smallest amount within bitcoin representing 0.00000001 bitcoin, one hundred millionth of a bitcoin.[4] A millibitcoin equals to 0.001 bitcoin, which is one thousandth of bitcoin.[43] One microbitcoin equals to 0.000001 bitcoin, which is one millionth of a bitcoin. A microbitcoin is sometimes referred to as a bit.

21 millions means nothing, it could be 210 ,2100, 21000 if there would be another unit names too

and you'll see the price listed as mBTC a lot when bitcoin users are talking small values.

"If the mining power had remained constant since the first Bitcoin was mined, the last Bitcoin would have been mined somewhere near October 8th, 2140. Due to the mining power having increased overall over time, as of block 367,500 - assuming mining power remained constant from that block forward - the last Bitcoin will be mined on May 7th, 2140."

If there is a consensus (miners, developers, community) then almost everthing can be changed.

It will take a very long time for them to mine every bitcoin because the amount the miners can mine decreases as they get closer and closer to 21 million.
Also, if anyone is interested in investing, now would be a good time to by Ethereum. It has certainly taken a beating recently but it will find traction soon and it has all kinds of potential.

yes, so that it can be treated as a commodity and still used as currency. Sort of like being able to use gold to buy things.

Poloniex is legit. I have been using Poloniex for quite a while and never had a problem. They got hacked in 2014, stayed open, and are more successful than ever: http://www.coindesk.com/poloniex-los...exchange-hack/

The Ethereum development and design team and its far-reaching community are poised to replace traditional, hierarchical, centrally governed companies with the entirely new concept of a decentralised autonomous organisation (DAO).Some have speculated the acquisition of tokens to join "The DAO" may attract over $100m of ether (ETH), the native currency of Ethereum. No one saw Ethereum coming two years ago, yet it became the world's second largest crowdfunder at the time $18.9m. No time has yet been given for the start of the DAO token sale.
A truly decentralised organisation (equivalent to a blockchain company) means the individuals that form it stay in control of its funds, vote on its future and get rewarded when it succeeds.

i just bought 13 coins and was gonna just let it sit there for couple years but i'm thinking about buying couple dozen more. just gonna see how it goes in the next couple weeks. i bought some silver when it was cheap, it's still cheap and safer but i think crypto currencies have a better upside.

So in reality, while I technically didn't lose money because I got back my $450 of bitcoin, I did actually lose money because if I would have kept it as bitcoin the entire time I would've made an extra $50. Basically lost .1 bitcoin by having it locked up in a sportsbook for a month.

It depends on the book you use. Try BTC only books. If you deposit $450 into NitrogenSports and it hits $500, Nitro sends you 1BTC. You exchange that 1BTC for $500. I only deposit BTC, it stays BTC in the book, and I withdraw BTC. I do this because I'm bullish on BTC until the halvening...

Why not? Would you rather it be able to be printed out of thin air like USDs? Having a max quantity leaves no max on value, as opposed to the dollar...

Dunno WTF is going on or how little old ETH moved $31M. I have 100% faith in BTC. My only worry is losing $$$ by avoiding ETH all this time. Honestly, I see all cryptos as a joke except these two.
