Yeah. So many angles to think about with that.

Could turn bookmakers into the next Blockbuster Video stores with enough traction.

Augur May Become the Greatest Gambling Platform in History. Is There Anything the Government Can Do to Stop It?

A blockchain-based prediction market that won’t be controlled or managed by anyone. Jim Epstein|

An online gambling platform could do to the neighborhood bookie what electric refrigerators did to the ice delivery man. Coming this fall, Augur will allow participants to wager money on any future event of their choosing. Software will set the odds, collect the bets, and disperse the winnings. The price alone should give Nevada sportsbook operators pause; an estimated one percent of every pot will go to keep the system running. The average vig today is about 10 times that.

I don't totally get it, but how would this be legal? Or is it just something that the govt just cant stop? Basing the company out of the US seems like a death trap and isn't anything different from a sportsbook being in the US...

Everything I've read says that if you trade you're not liable, only market makers would be liable. And with markets, like anything else w/ regulation, it depends on what kind of market you make, what jurisdiction you're in, etc.

Pretty much, because this does not run on servers the gov't can touch (P2P).

In the end, it's too speculative for the CFTC to give a penetrate.
