I won't be rushing into funding an account here based on what I've seen so far.
Today - no lines (spreads) on some AFL games. Limits lower than Pinnaclesports.
No NRL games at all. No MLB games at all.
Need to see how their horse racing offerings come up before I'm going to commit to them.

It might take some time to adjust to all the different markets but I think this is a good thing for Australian bettors

Yeah, so far there does not seem to be any point in signing up if you already have a Pinnacle account. Especially for me as I don't care for horse racing. Checked their terms and they still have the same crazy rollover requirements as the original Pinnacle.

I would not be surprised if all Australian pinnacle account holders would have to move over eventually.
the main reason I would think for pinnacle to be part of such a deal is to be in compliance with local law.
if they want to be in compliance with local Australian law, it makes no sense to keep current Australian players active.

but time will tell. I guess it could also be a strategic marketing decision to have a local partner.

I wonder if bettors from Australia can have both accounts and they could use the old pinny account for live betting and the new pinny account for everything else? Once they win a bit on the pinny live betting, they could then do a book to book transfer from the old account to the new Aussie pinny account and still be able to comply with the government standards regarding no live betting.

Also odd that they would open an Aus based book and then offer only the most basic bet types on AFL/NRL. No props/HT totals/spreads or anything.

Pinnacle System does not allow you to link props and contest yet, just wait it will come in the next 6 to 9 months. Does it allow parlays? If so probably at lower limits.

Australia loaded with generic sports books so the pinnacle one has to be low juice and don't boot winners or it'll just be in also-ran

The site still displays "Coming Soon" under Racing.

I was told a few weeks back that it would be offered by mid July.

I wonder how much longer we have to wait?

Don't think it'll be revolutionary as I heard the team behind Best Bookies are going to be running things.

Now they offer a great service but if this is just an expansion of their current operation it won't exactly shake up the industry.

Pinnaclebet.com.au website down and at least temporarily out of business. Hated their customer service, but their prices were very good.

Anyone heard the whys and hows of their closing?

it is a marketing strategy - to win more bettors even from restricted countries

No. I think it's simply that the local Australian operator/licensee of the name could not make money as a small player in such a heavily regulated market.

No. They were doing quite well until BetHQ spoiled the game for Norfolk Island regulation.
And we should soon see Ladbrokes have to find somewhere else to be registered to operate in Oz.
The pity is that Pinnaclebet most probably won't be able to find an Aussie regulator to work with as they are essentially no more than a PinnacleSports agency. They could go to Vanuatu I suppose but the history of former bookies registered there would make it difficult to attract new business in Australia.
