CONCACAF Champions League play here. Great value to be had on Montreal right now. Let me explain.
Montreal sit last place in the Eastern Conference of the MLS. They have completely ruled out any playoff hope, and have basically given up on the MLS season. They rested the majority of their starting players this past Saturday, to make sure they are fully rested and come out with the strongest possible lineup in this Concacaf Champions League game vs the Red Bulls.
Montreal are going all in for this tournament game. There has been heavy promotion around the city to fill up the stadium (will be close to a sell out, if not sold out by game time), and players are calling it the biggest game of the season.
On the other hand, New York come into town having to play 7 games in the next 23 days. They will be sitting a lot of the regulars to give them rest for there current playoff race in the Eastern Conference. Here's quote from there head coach basically knowing what to expect coming to Montreal. “Wednesday’s game will be a lot of guys getting an opportunity, to be honest with you,” Red Bulls head coach Mike Petke said after Saturday's tie against the Union. “We have six games left in MLS. The six games are very important. The Champions League is important as well, but we’re going to do what’s right for the club.”
Nick Sabetti, Montreal Impact insider, tweeted earlier today that Bradley Wright-Phillips, Tim Cahill, and Thierry Henry are not expected to start in Montreal. Another source, a Red Bulls website, http://www.onceametro.com/2014/9/16/...ls-injury-woes, has also confirmed all 3 won't suit up. Several others missing, and back up goalie scheduled to start.
All this to say, the odds are excellent on a Montreal win, and with them going all out against a weaker than normal Red Bulls side, Montreal will be pouring it on going for the win in a big way!
Highly recommend placing a bet on Montreal ML right now before it drops very soon. I grabbed them at 2.49 at SIA.
GL to all!
