    Nadal v. Wawrinka

So Nadal is 11-0 career vs Wawa including a 5-0 record on the hardcourt. Couple this in with the fact that Nadal really wants to add this WTF championship to his resume and I am left thinking..hmm....do we pound Nadal tomorrow?

I think Wawa can take this. He's out to show the big Boys he can stay...... That backhand seemed to be back for wawrinka last match. I know Nadal wants this tournament, but wanting and ability are two diffrent things. Federer wanted the French open, but it never happened

Federer won the French back in 2009 when Nadal was out.

Yes, but federer lost a lot to nadal at the French open. My point is, if this is nadals weakest surface, and he's trying hard. Then there's nothing else he can do. If he wanted to win this he woulda done so a couple years ago. I think WaWa has a good shot. Ferrer didn't look completely into this match today.

I understand your point Matt. I guess what I am saying is that Nadal has owned Wawa regardless of the surface. Even though Wawa is playing good tennis I think Nadal has flipped a switch and is playing good tennis as well.

I'm with matt on this. Not sure if I bet the games or the over. I might do both with a half unit on the money line.

Does anyone know how the prize money for this event is paid? I think that will play a factor in how hard Birdy and Ferrer will play.

Wawrinka has never even won a SET against Nadal in 11 meetings. He might take a set tomorrow but I just do not see him winning at all. The line should be over 10.0 here. All that being said I still bet $100 on Wawa for the entertainment factor

Only once in the 11 meetings has Wawa covered 4 games. If anything, I'd go with Nadal -4.

i took the over. no play on the money line. A bit of a sketchy bet by my standards. I think Nadal is getting tired and I like how Wawa took Joker to 5 at the us open many months ago

Rafa owns players with the one handed backhand. The topspin is too much. Might be tight, but Nadal should be safe.

Wawrinka took Nadal to 7-6(10) in the first set in China, a few weeks ago (going 0-4 on breakpoints). It is not like anybody will be expecting much from Wawrinka tomorrow and the crowd is probably going to support him. I am taking a stab at Wawa 1st set @+285. If he loses the first set, there is a pretty good chance he will fall apart in the 2nd set, like he did in China, so I do not really like Wawa +4.

Berdych wasted 5 bps on the game just because he is nowhere near his last year form and a terrible returner and his mobility is poor. Wawrinka broke 2 out of 4 break points

Mark my words Nadal will tactically return the same way as in the Ferrer game and all returns will bounce high with the surface. That really locked Ferrer's game. Ferrer does not like high bouncing balls, just like Wawrinka. Add to that Nadal's return abilities that Berdych does not have => we may see -hcp tonight

A nadal win here ensures he ends the season as world number 1

Also, if Stan can beat Ferrer in next match Stan will likely advance to the semis anyway

I just don't see Nadal missing a beat here. Probably play he under

Wow vintage Nadal. Stole those last two points when Wawrinka had the upperhand in the rallies.

Wawrinka is just playing like a spazz on the big points. Nadal just has this effect on players like Ferrer or Wawa.

Wow, as I was typing this, Wawa somehow broke back in the 2nd set. I was sure he was going to waste two more breakpoints. +4 has a good chance of covering (or at least pushing).
