How much longer will SBR remain in business?

    3 key factors to consider:

    1. Costa Rica has been shook for a while now and it's just the beginning.

    2. Advertising revenues from Costa Rica will dry-up faster than the desert floor if this site doesn't generate enough traffic; the driving force behind affiliate conversions.

    3. Non-advertising revenue has already been dropping off for a while, and will now significantly drop off even further with eroding consumer confidence.

Costa Rica is no longer the safest haven out there and it will get a lot worse quickly if the U.S continues to flex its muscle and the banking laws tighten as they are planned to do. The U.S administration (Obama) is going hard after anything money laundering related. I can understand how Walker's manlove for Obama has evolved over the years.

Here is some awfully interesting reading for anyone with the patience to digest it.

The business model does have some cracks in its armor but is a bigger picture than most understand.

Correct. Sbrmarketing is his baby, glad to see the new page, it looks much better than the old.

However John is playing with fire here. Closely affiliated with guys in CR that run a scam operation are guilty of money laundering millions from US residents And they're padding his pockets. Not good.

Will eventually be a gambling site with poker and sports...

Have the greatest client list ever...

    Testing everything with points now...

Soon it will be for cash...

Could turn into the Vegas of the internet, think about it...

Once gambling is legal everywhere, which is only a matter of time, SBR will not only have the ability to host a gambling community, but also offer the community places to play poker and bet...

Just imagine if points were real money, we would all be on this site 24/7...

As I've always said, they should drop the "review" nonsense and just rename the company something cheesy like "Sharp Betting Rounders" and just get things moving in the right direction...

If they can turn points into cash, the company would sell for 100's of millions...

    Think about it...

    Playing Safe

"Progress to educate sports bettors has improved since the wild west days of 1999 when SBR first entered the scene. When SBR started there were many scam sportsbooks operating openly. A good many of these scams operated in Costa Rica in the same office buildings as the top shelf sportsbooks. SBR’s strong warnings against Costa Rica infuriated sportsbook operators but soon proved to be warranted as more and more scams were exposed.
Five years later players’ money is without a doubt safer in the offshore sportsbook world. Players now know which operations are solid and cases of large losses to rogue operators are fewer.
The threats to players in 2004 are different than they were in 1999. Under capitalized sportsbooks have figured out how to conceal their weakness making the job of SBR even more difficult. Sportsbooks now go to extreme lengths to prevent news spreading of their weakness and subsequently being reported by SBR which could cause a fatal run of what few assets that remain. Weaker books now pay huge amounts of upfront money to websites who front as watchdogs effectively buying silence about their financial position.............."

i hope companies don't pay anymore to SBR... knowing that this place just lost all of their credibility. us, players don't believe what sbr rating says...so i hope books don't waste their money here.

So, after the B.I mess What do you feel comfortable with off shore?

i guess it still will depend on your book...

would feel comfortable playing at 5 dimes, Bookmaker, Heritage and leaving large amounts in there if i was a big bettor..

    currently, playing 5 dimes.

feel comfortable with about 5 dimes there as I do not feel i need a 5 figure amount in any off shore book

    go go go

I don't trust anymore. If I won a large amount I would get it out quickly. I am more a grinder so this stuff affects people like me more because I need to keep a balance to make money. All books are acceptable to this espically ones in Costa Rica.

    I'm a grinder as well.

I have found, for myself, that making deposits in a variety of books is self defeating, esp. if I am chasing bonuses, free-plays, etc.

I keep to the main books, pick winners over a period of time, and I don't send $ out of the country that I can't afford to lose.

You should not completely trust any offshore gambling site

Only have a balance you are willing to give up

At anytime any l book could run or get seized

That being said, bookmaker, 5dimes, heritage seem to be the safest for US

Don't trust them like you have a post up account at a Vegas book though
