In London. Just made a bet at William Hill

Unreal feeling being able to walk into a sportsbook to bet on anything. Legally at that.

Got 5 Quid on Senegal and Great Britain to draw tonight... To win like 17 quid.

    Be jealous queerboys

UK Bookies are about to clean up tonight.

Surely every Brit is on team Gravity Bong tonight.

Senegal is a decent side with European talent.

Post some pics of yourself in front of one of the shops giving it the middle finger.

    That'd be cool.

Why are they "all over" in England? Is it because it's legal there?

Why are they "all over" in Vegas? Is it because it's legal there?

Why are they NOT "all over" in Chicago?

Quid is slang, like bucks. 10 quid, 10 bucks.

Thought the best odds available were 11/4 but that may have been closer to the event.

To answer some of the other questions - yes you can bet on American sports and you would tend to get the same odds as available online for that company. Don't expect to see any prices advertised though as unless it is the Super Bowl it would be a very minority event to its overall customer base. The cashiers will look up the prices for you, but are unlikely to quote anything other than fractional odds.

As to availability of shops as an illustration I live in a town of 25,000, which has 4 betting shops, 2 from national chains, one regional chain and one independent. Nationally the number is around 8,000.

Shops tend to be geared up around the traditional main stream off-the-street business of football, horse racing and dog racing, which will take up all the display screens and the wall.

Men with hardly any teeth are a declining part of the customer base in most areas.

All the shop books offer shit odds.

The real benefits of Britain for a gambler are no taxes, pinnacle/sbo, and no problems moving money around for free.

Do William Hill shop books offer different odds compared to William Hill online for big football matches?

Yes. Often the shops are slower to change odds.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but it seems like it would be possible to get better lines at the shop close to game time, if there has been a lot of movement online, but the books are slower to react?
