Brian Hastings Wins Massive Pot, Contending for Chip Lead
Brian Hastings raises from the cutoff and the small blind three-bets to 21,000. Hastings calls and the button folds. The flop is and the small blind checks. Hastings bets 18,000 and the small blind calls.
The turn is the and the small blind checks again. Hastings bets 50,000 and the small blind check-calls. The river is the and the small blind checks for a third time. Hastings doesn't waste much time in announcing he is all in, which is for effectively the roughly 200,000 that the small blind has left. The small blind takes for less than a minute and then puts a stack of chips in the middle.
"Three sixes," said Hastings as he shows .
The small blind mucks his hand, but the dealer tables it since it is an all in pot and exposes that the small blind has JhTd. Hastings rakes the pot and is one of the biggest stacks in the room.
    Brian Hastings - 760,000

Not even sure we can catch SharpAngles without a final table finish at this point.

My boy Hastings aka stinger88 has recently been accused of playing on Pokerstars and Full Tilt accounts known to belong to Irish player Noel Hayes. If it's true they took a lot of money from high stakes regs who thought they were playing a much weaker opponent than Hastings.

Not the first time stinger has been accused of shady practices. http://www.pokernews.com/news/2009/1...llion-7714.htm

    Antonio Esfandiari Eliminated ($40,433)
Chris Bolek opens from under the gun to 50,000 and Antonio Esfandiari moves all in from middle position for his last 341,000. Action folds back through to Neil Blumenfield in the big blind who moves all in over the top, putting Bolek at risk. Bolek quickly folds and Esfandiari jumps out of his seat tabling . Blumenfield leans forward and rolls over and Esfiandiari will need to come from behind yet again to prolong his Main Event run.
The board runs out and Esfandiari hits the rail while Blumenfield crawls closer to 2,000,000 in chips.
    Neil Blumenfield - 1,960,000 (98 bb)
    Antonio Esfandiari - Eliminated

Sorry dane, this makes it a two dog fight between waves and I. Antonio gave you some hope but no magic this year.

At the dinner break of Day 5 we're looking at 111 runners left and each player in the top 35 overall. Could turn into a real race to the Final Table.

How you figure? Even if Negreanu makes final table & Hastings doesn't, my average finish is worse than yours.

You're forgetting the bonus -1000 If DNegs gets the FT. That's off your final number and could be a game changer.

Didn't forget the -1000 bonus, as I gave a final table scenario. Fact is, 1000 pts deducted doesn't improve my average enough to beat you. What am I missing here?

Turns out I was forgetting Hastings -100 for cashing. Best case scenario for you is a FT for Negreanu and a final score of 1871. If Hastings goes out next i'd be at 1839 so I guess you were right. The sweat is over and the chips are mine
