    David Fincher will beat Tom Hooper for Best Achievement in Directing.

    David Fincher has never won an Acedemy award, he is a great movie director, his time is now.

    Tom Hooper is a TV director, he isn't qualified to win it in my opinion.

    Hooper just won the SAG award for directing and his odds promptly dropped from 8-1 to 7-5..Only 3 times in like 50 years has the person winning the sag not won the oscar...Save your money!

    never thought gamblers went to movies. what a waste of time and money to see scripted and edited acting by beautiful people. last time i went was 1988 star trek the whales. horrible.

    You know what, you are correct.

    I should place my money on Christian Bale to win best actor and the King's Speech for best picture. I seriously doubt the social network will win best picture because Facebook could be out of date decades from now. Best picture movies are movies that matter for past and future generations.

    would bet both, but 5 Dimes has humongous vig, so King's Speech is -500 and the other is +250

    I saw another set of odds posted that had one at -800 and the other at +150!

    what other books have odds on this? Bodog seems to have taken down its odds.

    I've been overall disappointed with movies I've seen this year... There are still many I've yet to see (like The Social Network, which I somehow missed), but seems like a down year to me.

    My favorite of the year was probably Paranormal Activity 2. They did a great job on it and kept close to the same creepy-as-hell vibe as the first one.

    I found another strong favorite, not a terrible price...

    Inside Job -200

    By far the most important political movie on the Documentary short list. Gasland and Restrepo were important as well and well made, but in terms of political importance they don't come anywhere near Inside Job. Exit Through and Wasteland were very artistic and entertaining but if the Academy sticks to the political theme of the past years Inside is a very strong favorite.
