i say it all the time to my daughter think about it in 20 years how many of these artists today will you still hear on the radio on a regular basis, thats the effect these guys had on hip hop.

still hear biggie at least 4 or 5 times a week on the radio, im sure on the west coast you still get tupac

Damn, time flies. When I first moved to LA in 1989 I lived in the Hollywood Hills. I would see Tupac all the time walking the streets, trying to pick up woman. I'd go to Boston Market, where I use to see Larry Flint come in (carried in) to eat as well. I use to talk to Tupac a lot just about bullshit but it was funny how he would walk the block and curse a girl out of she didn't give him any play. I saw him a few months before he got shot at Universal Studio. I gave him a hug and we chatted and a buddy of mine pulled me to the side and said, "dude, do not get close up on him, folks are after him". I was at the Tyson/Seldon fight the night he got shot. Me and a buddy were playing blackjack afterwards when the casino scattered. Tupac's crew beat up a dude (Crip gang member) and folks trampled out of there. It was a mad house. I saw a table get turned over with chips but security covered it up with a quickness. About an hour later I heard he got shot while standing in the sunroof of Suge Knights car trying to pick up woman (just like him).

I think it was November I saw Biggie at the House of Blues. I have a friend that was a Foundation Room member. I then saw him the next night at the Century Club where another friend did security. Then 2 days later on that Monday I saw him at the Improv comedy. Then that Tuesday at a Lesbian club (I can't remember the name but I used to call it the Fish Fry). Crazy how you see the same people when you go out in LA. "I see the same hoes." Few months later he was dead.

Those days were crazy. I knew a lot of people that were involved in the rap game. Death row was making a shit load of money selling records on the street. I owned a condo in Woodland Hills that was a block away from where they built a workout gym (called the Dogg Pound). Dr Dre had a studio down the street. I'd see guys from NWA, Snoop, Ice Cube, Dre all the West Coast rappers you would see. This girl who handled Suge Knights finances would tell me the money they were making that was unbelievable. They were making close to a billion dollars all on the street hustling records. I really think that maybe the record companies had something to do with both deaths. Too much money made unregulated. Man, that seems like yesterday.

Oh and many people still think LAPD killed Tupac. That's how bad it was in those days. No one trusted the police because they were the most corrupt. Which is the biggest reason OJ went free.

There were some awesome bands that came through there back in the 90's. I think their "another link in the chain" tour was there but I missed it. I love Stevie Nicks. I love all types of music, every genre. I'd see a concert at least 3 or 4 times a month there. I was real fortunate having a good friend being a member. I was very fortunate to know a lot of people in LA. My first few months in LA, I met some real powerful down to earth people. I could go to any boxing match, any music venue, comedy club, Hollywood movie premier or TV show, just about any dance club and a bunch of restaurants. I was even good friends with a couple of strippers. I was really flossing in FLos Angeles.

If you have money and are single, there is not a better place to live than LA. You'll never see a higher percentage of beautiful woman (well maybe Vancouver). I really took for granted how awesome that city was.

Yep saw many gems back in the day.. The Roxy, Troubador, The Palace, were all hot spots back in the day for up and coming bands. I'm sure I'm forgetting a few more off Sunset Blvd... Seen and been to so many..

These days I check out the Hollywood bowl in Summertime, Greek theater, OC fair concerts for live entertainment when I can beat the traffic coming up from Santa Monica and get the chance..

Love all kinds of music as well, big fan of music...

No city is better for entertainment and things to do in the world then LA, California.. That includes Hollywood of course..

I've been every where and done everything and nothing beats LA pound for pound... Probably why I still live here.. I'd get so bored living in any other city, I tried New York and it has nothing on LA.. New York has it's own flair though.. I get that East Coast thing, very diverse.. Clubs stay open all night as well, you don't get that here in LA really...

New Orleans French quarters is fun and full of music as well. You can party your asss off in New Orleans... I like New Orleans alot actually...

    Miami South Beach garbage......

Yeah, not a fan of Miami (I lived there for a while). Not much to do outside of South Beach. NY is okay but it is so spread out and the weather sucks 50% fo the time. New Orleans is too transient. It does take getting use to clubs closing early in LA. Especially as I was coming from Atlanta where the clubs stay open all night. But, LA is another world. It's fantasy land. Great weather, hills, beaches, sun, fun. I just couldn't live there being married. WAY too many distractions with so many beautiful woman. LA is like being on a college campus. Pussy is everywhere. Beautiful woman are everywhere. They all want to be an actress, model or whatever. You can meet a different woman every day in LA. Definitely worth the high cost of admission.

I love Asians but I really love all woman, all colors, sizes, countries, religions. I've dated them all. No preference whatsoever. I love redheads probably the best as far as fun and crazy but dated much more brunettes and blondes. I'm pretty much down on woman from Central America. They are too possessive whereas woman from South America are not. I've had horror stories dating woman from Honduras and Belize. My Aunt warned me to never date a girl from Central America. I should have listened.
