The public has pounded Wisconsin from -1.5 to -3 so far,
but they are missing the story. Wisconsin gets too much
respect, largely due to past success and their vocal fanbase.
I faded them at Ohio State last game, and will fade them again
this afternoon at Michigan State, where Senior Day ceremonies
will honor Spartans, there could be a big game from Ellis.
Coach Izzo knows that confidence is brewed with success and
repetition of a winning game plan. His team has been scoring well
and finding their identity. After today's last home stand, they are
off to Illinois and Maryland. Wisconsin has punched their ticket
to the Big Ten tournament, and March Madness, but the Spartans
are going to have to win at least one more game... this is the one
they want in their back pockets, heading out on the road.
Winning this game will also get them into March Madness without
bubble worries.
The Badgers have lost 3 of their last 4. Their winning hinges upon
defense. If Michigan State gets into the 70s, they will probably win
the game today. Michigan State has the better offense, and with
production on their home court today I expect them to outscore,
which means WIN, today's affair. The blueprint is Thursday night's
brutal trouncing of Nebraska, when the Spartans racked up 88 points.
