Why are so many people high on CLEMSON?

Maybe there is a legitimate reason but I don't get it

They struggled to get by the likes of Troy, Louisville (who were exposed as mediocre), and NC State at home, and lost to Pitt

Tell me why they don't get pummeled

Yeah OP makes some good points. NC ST. missed a 37 yard FG at the buzzer and UL put up about 40 on them. So Did Pitt in beating them. Not sure which way to play it, but I have a feeling CLEMSON shows up tonight.

They hit their stride late. Tried to coast through and the loss to pitt woke them up.

They can match up with bama in the trenches and have a massive advantage at qb.

The public usually acts based on last week's games. Clemson was a lot more imporessive.

Alabama can line it up and shove it down the throat of anyone. They have a NFL line on both sides of the ball. Stack the line to stop it boom over the top. Alabama can also score on both sides of the ball. Remember Watson has thrown 15 picks this season. This defense has a great film to make their game plan better it's called last year's national championship game.

    Toss up game

Clemson has best qb and best wr in the country. Basically 2 1st round NFL players on offense. Put the 49ers number 1 WR in this game and he'll be the best player on the field easily.

Always take the team who has more NFL players... It's a pretty easy formula to win in college football. Not saying Clemson has more. Bama has some on D. Just saying betting college in general.

Clemson exposed Ohio State's shitty QB and bad O-Line. Now, everyone thinks Clemson's D and Bama's are on par with each other. Bama dominated Washington and everyone just shrugs their shoulders because it wasn't 50-7.

Bama has been keeping tight with teams for a quarter or 2, they wear you out, get a few turnovers, get pts. off those turnovers, then put you to bed. Bama's O-line wins the battle and they run all over on Clemson, keeping Watson on the sideline.

Clemson 1st half if you feel the need to bet against Bama. Bama ML all day.

This game reminds me of years ago when Oklahoma was favored by 7 against Florida and Tim Tebow. No one gave the gators a chance and we all know how that turned out.

Or when Bama was a good size favorite over Ohio St in the semis a couple years ago. I'd give Bama the edge, but the advantage at QB is so massive. This might be the game where a team turns the tables on the Defensive scores agaisnt Bama.

I agree Clemson's D isnt on par with Bama's, but on offense Clemson has enough wrinkles to trouble Bama. QB reads and running off tackle is the trick to keep them honest, receivers are gonna have to step up, I see alot of Watson's picks seemed to be because he trusted his receivers to do things they didnt do this year. All in all, theyve been focused on this game from the first day after losing last year, I think they have a better shot this year.

I won't be suprised if either team wins. I just think Bama faces by far the best offense and Clemson faces the best defense so we will see who wins out. The real story is how effective can Bama offense be with a new OC and if they chose to play run heavy. If Clemson were to get a lead and force Bama to pass it could be the demise of the Tide. We all know Clemson will pack the box to make the freshmen win the game. Should be a good game so we can forget about how awful it was to watch the nfl playoffs

Game boils down to Jalen Hurts and Sarkisian's play calling. I find it very hard to believe that you can set up a script with Hurts and have a 100% total feel of what you can... and can't call.

2nd point is Alabama's defense. If bama's defense can't hold Clemson for whatever reason.... it's going to put more pressure on Hurts to perform. I don't think the kid has ever been in a position like this. The need to score... and you can't rely on your defense for consistent 3 and outs.

Clemson needs methodical long drives. They need to wear out that bama defense.

If Clemson has trouble... then Alabama covers. As long as Sarkisian calls a simple game plan. Let's face it... you could call 20% of screen calls and zone reads.... and chip away. I'd love to see Saban and Sarkisian argue on the sidelines in the first game.

I was just pointing out things that need to happen for Clemson to cover.

for everyone saying that the whole world is saying bama is gonna win is false. I see and hear just as many ppl saying that clemson gets it done here. Id say really 50-50 to be honest.
