Michigan shouldn't get in no matter what happens in the other games. Didn't make conference championship game and lost 2 of their last 3 games. Don't care who it was against, they still count. Isn't that what the powers that be preach all the time, "our regular season matters"? Here's their chance to prove it.

When Michigan lost to Iowa they didnt drop from #3 because Clemson and Washington also lost that week. They dropped Washington below Louisville and should have dropped Clemson below Lousiville also, they didnt drop either of these 3 teams low enough. Clemson and Washington lost at home, at least Michigan lost on the road, still they should have dropped further having lost to teams outside of the top 10.

So they are going to put in Michigan over Penn State when Michigan finished 4th in the Big Ten, 3rd in their own Division, lost to Iowa and Ohio State, both Common Opponents Penn State beat, because they beat Penn State back in September at home?
Michigan has lost 2 out of their last 3 games, sandwiched between a 10 point win at home vs Indiana. Penn State will have won 9 in a row, including the Big 10 Championship, and wins against 2 of the top 6 teams in the Playoff Rankings right now.

Playoff Committee is stressing conference champions, it would be a disgrace if Michigan is anywhere but 6 in the final rankings barring any other losses by Clemson or Washington.

If you think Michigan has been a top 4 team in the country the last month then you haven't been watching the games. They easily could have lost to Indiana and been 0-3 down the stretch. You notice how they haven't had a win against a top team since 10/1?

yeah they didnt lose tho they have played the worst of the year the last 3 games with a hurt qb or a back up qb and lost 2 games by a total of 4 points both on the road one in double ot against the team everyone is saying is the number 2 team in the country at their place with horrible officiating

That's what I thought as well, especially when psu got ranked so high after beating osu. I guess we were duped bc they're not ahead of pac 12 champ uw. They're not even ahead of another big ten team that didn't make the title game. Conference titles are meaningless basically

They are a very good team, but losing 2 games close down the stretch doesn't mean you should make the playoffs, especially when you finish 4th in your conference.

Michigan and USC could very well be top 4 teams right now, but why play the regular season if you are going to put a 3 loss team in and a team finishing 4th in their own conference.

wilton spieghts played against osu and iowa but was far from healthy never took a shot down field or tried to run the ball in either game due to injury....he did not play against indiana at all.... he did play and was healthy against penn st win by 40, wisconsin win by 7 with 4 missed fg , colorado win by 17 even tho they had a huge injury issue in that game

Penn State had a ton of injuries when they played Michigan, shit happens.

Michigan 1-1 against Ohio State and Penn State
Ohio State 1-1 against Michigan and Penn State
Penn State 1-1 against Michigan and Ohio State

Right now it is going to be Bama, Clemson, Washington, Ohio State, then 5th will be big 10 champion followed probably by Big 12 Champion.

A lot of great posts in this thread. As you can clearly see... the committee will have a lot of decisions to be made. And a lot of parties won't be happy with the decisions either way.

Personally, I'm trying to be unbiased when giving you my opinion on this... for Championship ratings... somehow the committee needs to put Michigan in the Top 4 somehow. Not saying they deserve to be there. I'm just saying... if Michigan had a more experienced QB playing... they would be one dominant team. So... I guess I'm saying... their defense is pretty close.... but not better than Alabama's. But very close.

The committee wants you to believe that this is strictly about winning percentage... wins over top 25 schools... etc etc.

In my opinion.... the media really hasn't pumped up Washington... they haven't pumped up Colorado. They haven't really pumped up Wisconsin or Penn State. So is the committee going to make a decision based on total performance? Or are they going to let some team skip to #4 based upon a business standpoint? Ratings... etc?

Again, Michigan played a ton of Home Games this year... not a good look for the committee. They only lost by 1 point to Iowa. And lost by 3 points to Ohio State. I think a lot of coaches/teams would go nuts letting Michigan slip in at #4 with 2 losses.

Boy I'd hate to be on that committee.

That's why it should be a Top 6.... and not a Top 4.

2 Teams will be screwed royally on this one.

think if okla st wins. they really only have one loss since the refs blew the call against central mich. would they be in the playoffs with one loss and a conf championship if wash or clemson loses?

    Stop with the officiating whining.
Yes they missed a PI in OT.
Barrett did get the 1st down. At least not enough to overturn.
The refs also missed a face mask on Michigan in OT.
Bottom line Michigan got out gained 127 to 5 in the 4th quarter.
And if OSUs sorry kicker did not miss 2 chip shots the game should have been over before OT.
Michigan's QB 2 picks and fumble were the reasons not 1 missed call.
Stop looking like sissy whiny butt Harbaugh. Hes a psycho that no one but Michigan fans like. He should have went for 2 in OT instead of coaching like a wuss.

And Im not a fan of either team.
Michigan 2-12 vs OSU last 14 years,

    4. Penn St.

So you're correct Ohio St. and Michigan should both be in the playoff. Top 2 teams from the best conference this season. Also the two teams in the country this season with the best chance of knocking off a Bama in the championship.

Michigan has not been good as of late. Wisky or Penn St could beat Michigan if they played tomorrow.

    1. Bama
    2. Ohio St
    3. Clemson
    4. Wisky/Penn St
