Both Louisville and one-loss Michigan (if they lose to Ohio State) would be ahead of Big 12 champ in pecking order. Of course, all speculation would become moot if Washington goes undefeated. If Huskies go unbeaten, then there would really be no need for committee as playoff teams would be easy.

They will need some help too. I don't think the committee moves them up to the top 4 even if they win out cause they're upcoming opponents are Wake Forest, South Carolina, and either UNC or VT in the ACC Championship. We'll have to see.

Michigan would be. Not sure about Louisville. They are struggling now against Wake and the only team they've beaten worth a damn is FSU

ACC still better than Big 12 so Louisville still be ahead. What does it tell you when committee had Oklahoma #11 this week. Plus, although it really should not matter, committee will probably give undeserved extra credit to Heisman Trophy winner if things are that close.

Unless Clemson loses again they should be ahead of Louisville. Head to head is the only way when 2 teams play eachother. That being said, I don't think either team should be in. The problem is that Alabama is in a different league and Mich & Wash have easy schedules. If they lose they shouldn't even have the playoff. Just give it to Bama.

This won't mean anything, nor am I implying it should....but I believe the top 4 teams are

    Bama
    Ohio St
    Michigan
    Wisconsin

I don't think you've paid attention to what the committee looks for the last 2 years.

Louisville is essentially Baylor & TCU two years ago except barring another Clemson loss, they won't have a conference title

I disagree because while ACC is not great, it is still better than what Big 12 was two years ago, which was total trash. Even Oklahoma had a down season that year, it was basically a two-team league.

Good lord guys....ever watched this committee. One loss teams that win conference champ guaranteed. Clemson easily in if they win out...along with big 10 champ, sec champ and either washington if they win out or highest ranked non champ.

There is no such thing as a NCAA division 1 football championship, and there never has been. Why people play along with the NCAA to pretend there is, is aggravating. All so that certain groups can keep their old money and power in place. Trying to pretend some committee acting like Roman senators, including the likes of Condeleza Rice of all people, gets to decide what 4 teams get to play for an athletic championship is so ludicrous, that I can't believe fans are lame enough to go along with it. I know why the network propagandists sell it, they've overpaid to broadcast it and they need to sell ads, especially now since ESPN's ratings are in the toilet, but fans? It baffles me, it truly does. Until you make winning something on the field as a ticket to a post season, and at least go to an 8 team playoff, it's nothing but pro wrestling. What type of college athletic organization do you have that encourages teams to run up the score on a defeated opponent to get "style points" ? Good message of sportsmanship for the kids.

I hope I'm still alive to see the day when the big 20 football programs decide to form their own league, their own exclusive intra-league schedules, negotiate their own TV deals, and pay the players. Oh yeah, and no idiotic rankings or committees, just standings and playoff games for those that qualify in the standings. Don't kid yourselves, that can happen someday.

If everyone wins out this will be your final 4 Alabama, Clemson, Louisville, winner of Michigan / Ohio st. ....if Michigan won today and lost to Ohio st they still would have been there and Louisville would have been out.If Alabama loses 1 game they still would be in playoffs.

A $100 "chaos" ML parlay on Iowa (+1175), USC (+290), and Pittsburgh (+975) paid you a cool $53,354.37...not a bad lottery ticket.

Sounds good only if Michigan beats Ohio State. If Ohio State wins, there could be chaos with quite possibly no Big Ten team making the Playoff. Can you justify taking an Oho State team that would not even win its own division over the eventual Big Ten Champ (probably Penn State vs. Wisconsin, each entering with two losses). I agree that Ohio State is best team but winning conference has to count for something, otherwise why play the games.

Michigan wins big 10 and Clemson or Louisville lose again. It's pretty easy actually

Assuming Ohio state beats Michigan, I think it'll be Alabama, Clemson, Ohio State, Wisconsin.

I really do prefer computer rankings for this... and Sagarin gets it more correct than most. Here is the latest...

    1 Alabama A =
    105.09 10 0 78.74( 6) 1 0 | 5 0 | 105.13 1 | 104.97 1 | 105.25 1
    2 Ohio State A = 101.96 9 1 73.84( 31) 2 0 | 3 1 | 102.86 2 | 100.82 2 | 100.71 2
    3 Michigan A = 99.50 9 1 71.81( 49) 1 0 | 3 0 | 100.78 3 | 97.93 3 | 97.85 3
    4 Louisville A = 93.47 9 1 68.56( 64) 0 1 | 1 1 | 94.29 4 | 92.33 5 | 92.57 5
    5 Clemson A = 92.96 9 1 74.21( 30) 2 0 | 3 0 | 92.45 5 | 93.69 4 | 93.94 4
    6 Washington A = 91.87 9 1 68.62( 63) 0 0 | 2 1 | 92.21 6 | 91.38 6 | 91.46 6
    7 LSU A = 90.90 6 3 77.55( 10) 0 3 | 1 3 | 90.95 7 | 90.89 7 | 90.66 7
    8 Wisconsin A = 89.71 8 2 77.54( 11) 1 2 | 2 2 | 89.97 8 | 89.25 8 | 89.64 8
    9 Auburn A = 88.57 7 3 76.08( 15) 1 1 | 2 2 | 89.55 9 | 87.31 11 | 87.19 11
    10 Oklahoma A = 87.97 8 2 74.41( 27) 0 1 | 1 1 | 87.23 12 | 89.17 9 | 88.94 9
