This Is How You Get Well To Do Whites To Vote Yes On Taxes

This is the rebuttal to a measure here in LA to raise taxes for transportation projects. I'm not sure if you've heard but LA has horrible traffic. The thinly veiled suggestion that the MTA is racist is hilarious as is the suggestion that somehow these blue collar people are actually paying taxes (I am looking at you MAYAN). I especially like the part where projects in affluent neighborhoods move to the front of the line and why I will vote YES on Measure M

Shouldn't have a budget matter this large for any unelected authority. Slippery slope to say the least- matters get bungled, Noone held accountable.

Always vote "No" on every referendum. They are all bullshit, never do what they say they will, and will always cost the tax payers $$$.

LA has a stretch that is the worst traffic in the world along with pockets of China and india. NJ got screwed over by fat Chris Christie after voting no to a referendum on raising gas prices by 23 cents a gallon. He then used a loophole where the referendum was essentially applied and passed without a vote

Personally, I believe it needs to be legislated on the Federal level to get rid of all the banking inconsistencies. In AZ, Prop 205 is going to create more gov't (not a fan) and the money raised by taxes is going to regulation and a marijuana commission first...then, the pennies go to the schools. It will prob pass though. I'm not as upset with this prop as ones that are instant tax hikes.

A state referendum to legalize Marijuana isnt completely useless but it's bordering on it if it isn't recognized as legal on a federal level. Facilities operating in states that have legalized Marijuana run the risk of having their doors kicked down at anytime by the feds

Totally agree Nino. I never vote on any increase in taxes. I found it interesting however that the "no" vote was basically saying to not support it because the people who pay the most taxes will get to spend the money on their own neighborhoods for transportation improvement. I was kidding around about voting yes, but I thought the rebuttal was a compelling argument to vote yes.

I am voting yes on the referendum to require voter approval to issue bonds over 2 billion.

Tricky situation. Depends on how it all progresses, referendums merely give an access forward but not a proposed plan. Notice that the majority of weed farms and suppliers are actually against the current legalization votes out of fear the govt steps in and crushes them and replaces with lower quality product and taxes?

I'm all for legalization but you know the fear that comes with the government partnering up with a cash cow. You think venture capitalists are brutal.

205 in AZ is a good example...proposes to legalize it for 21+. Voting no on it; I don't agree with the 21+ part, or the sin taxes on it, or the structure of enforcing it by executive appointments. If you're old enough to die fighting for someone else's country on US orders and old enough to pick the same buffoon for President as 21+, you're old enough to smoke weed or drink for that matter, and sin taxes are bullshit government money-grabs attached as strings in exchange for giving people back their rights.

Weed should be legal for all adults, but I have a feeling that once it is through any means, people will lose interest in changing it. As it's already pretty much a non-issue to smoke in private as the law would enable people to do, I don't see any urgency to vote for crap like that. Sadly, I think measures like this will pass anyways...voters have a tendency to vote based on surface issues instead of root causes, and as a result are ripe for herding when the consequences of those bad choices hit home.
