I'm aware of the one payout every five days, but BTC payouts are being done within hours now.

This is about using bitcoin. And posts in this thread are saying payouts are within hours.

Player payment reports say Bovada are probably the fastest btc payers among regular books at the moment.

Outside of Bitcoin which is new for them they only have checks which are pretty archaic. Also my comment was the book sucks in general and for multiple reasons. Maybe they can payout in btc quick but guess what they can't do? Post lines at a normal time, not restrict what you can and can't bet and limit you the minute you succeed

My last two checks, for 3k each, took 12 days and 2 days. However I know they had delays before this.

Haven't had issues with them like that yet. Of course... I've never had a PO with Bovada yet. They probably mess with "select" accts. Probably follow your wagering patterns when you start winning.

It has been arriving within hours of request recently.

Your account may just be just flagged for a check before a new withdraw is allowed.

Anyone having problems depositing? I sent my bitcoin to my wallet at Bovada and the transaction shows "Pending/unconfirmed" in the wallet I sent it from (wallet using Multibit on my computer) about an hour ago.

I have to say I've heard back from their Customer Service twice already in that time so that's good.

Bovada just did it moments ago to me on a college football line. Moved the juice -115. (The game isn't even until Saturday. Playing this junk on a Tuesday Night.) That's ok though.... I'll get these fuks back. Just click the opposite of what you want.... and let the line shift. Then... grab what you wanted "originally" and bam... take it!

Turns out it was a problem with the program on my computer that I use to transfer Bitcoin (Multibit). I re-synchronized my Multibit program (twice) and it removed the erroneous attempted transaction and credited by Bitcoin amount back to me. I was then able to transfer to Bovada and the funds were in my account within seconds.

This had NOTHING to do with Bovada's Bitcoin transfer system.

There's more to a book than a quick payout. I know I am in the minority here, but I don't get the fascination when so many other aspects of the operation are weak. Don't love Bovada's interface, lines,, graading times, tactics. Their Customer service is not bad ( way better than 5 dimes for example), yet they have the weirdest way of doing their bonuses I have ever seen.

P.S. - Even though, I have been in the game for over 20 years, I would not say I am a Pro. Perhaps some of you Pros can educate me on why super-fast pay out speeds are so essential?

Yep and indeed they did even the 2nd time I requested a bitcoin payout, and they won... I lost it after waiting the 48 hour periond.. as soon as I made the wager .. after waiting days for an email from them telling me its ready.. I get an email telling me my payout has been cancelled imediatly .

I agree with much of what you said about Bovada's shortcomings. However their "weird" bonus system is one of the best I've seen from a player's point. It's cash and has just a 5x roll for 100% match. It's easy money especially if you have a 5D account to offset action. And fast payouts are very important if you need to reload other accounts, especially if they too are offering great bonuses.

A couple reasons:

(a) Liquidity is key for a savvy gambler. The margins are thin, and you want to be able to allocate your funds to the softest and best of spots.

Maybe there's a much softer line at another book. The odds on the Oakland Raiders to win the AFC West right now range from as low as +292 to as high as +600 (I checked half a dozen books). That's an insane gap.

Or maybe there's a high stakes poker game that only runs on Friday nights.

(b) Even the largest books or poker sites can shut down entirely at any time. I lost a fortune from UltimateBet in April 2011. I've been fortunate enough to get paid by every sportsbook, but ya never know.

(c) Other factors, though not as important: psychologically, it's nice to book a win... the principle of the matter (these books make a fortune off people playing online roulette!).... I'll let others chime in because I think I'm forgetting one or two other reasons

Ok, here is Bovada's new scam. I go to take Atlanta +3-105. but I can't because the line has changed from American odds to European. Customers service says I have to clear browser history. I go back in and The line moves to Atlanta +3 -115 I have been with Bovada/Bodog for years you would think they would treat customers better than that.
