To make a long story short, not sure if I'm going to want to maintain a season-long thread, as sometimes it's a pain in the ass. So we'll see, I may end up bailing, or perhaps I'll just spot-bet in here so it's a bit less of a pain.
If memory serves, I've had SIX NFL season-long threads in here. Four nice winning seasons, one small losing season, and one time I just abandoned it.
Without further ado:
Panthers/Broncos under 41.5, -105 (1x)
Broncos +3, +105 (1x)
(These lines and juice are from TUESDAY when I placed these, hence the higher-than-now-available total.)
Not in love with either of these plays, but I do like both and it's opening night, so why not. My reasoning for them is simply that the Broncos retain most of brought them the title. They're still going to have the great D and I still expect them to stifle Cam's attack. No Trevathan is too bad, but most of the main guys from 2015 are there. Everyone seems worried about the seventh-round QB making his first start for Denver, but I'm not. Denver will run a conservative attack, and don't forget that the Panthers secondary could be very shaky at the outset, with no Josh Norman and a couple of kids. He could have surprising success throwing.
Most of all, it's just NOT easy to go into Mile High and WIN a big game, and if I'm gonna GET points at home with the defending champ, I'll take them, thank you very much.
Best of luck this year!!!
