Is anyone buying Tennessee to win the SEC East?

All hype again or is this their year? Slip up against Georgia or again not putting away the Gators? -120/125 to win now?

Another year of major hype and they will once again finish a game or 2 above .500

They were close to going undefeated last year. 3 4th quarter collapses in games they had dominated and had big leads.

The team was very young the last two years and they finally have some upperclassmen this year plus a great recruiting year.

They are favored in every game at this point including Alabama so we'll have to see what happens.

Everyone says they almost beat so and so, but they should have lost to Georgia, got beat by Arkansas and were almost beat by a God awful Carolina team.

They will probably be a pick em or slightly favored at Georgia. No way they are favored vs Alabama.

Out of the last 26 meetings between Alabama, Florida, & Georgia they have won once. One game.

i think they are the most experienced team and have the best quarterback...but talent wise they are on the same level as Georgia.

They have a guantlet of vs UF, @UGA, @A&M, vs Bama...if they can get through that and go 3-1, they should enter the SEC CG with a chance to go to the playoffs

Probably not....Tied for the best team in the East and not far from ahead of Florida so a 3rd place finish wouldn't be a shocker. At best forth team in the SEC overall.

I can see Tennessee winning the East, but so can Florida and Georgia. AS far as the SEC goes, no chance.

Another team full of high level talent, that can't play smart or together. Same as last year.

Tennessee is an easy touchdown favorite over EVERYONE in the East on a neutral field. Not sure why people refuse to acknowledge how formidable they'll be this season. Georgia and Florida are in sort of familiar boats. I think both teams improve but nowhere near enough to catch Tennessee

In fact, I'd make them less than a field goal dog to LSU on a neutral field and a touchdown dog to Alabama.

    UT UGA was a pick
    Bama -3.5 @ UT

Saw the other day their second half defensive numbers....horrible horrible. Might be the Achilles again this season but they do get home advantage in a few key games. No way Florida wins the East but I'm not sure Georgia is there yet...another year or two for them to develop.

The Vols schedule favors them this year. After alabama they won't play anyone with a pulse. Kentucky may surprise this season though. The game vs Virginia Tech could be tricky but it doesn't count for the conference. I really believe their season hinges on the Florida game. If they lose that one, their season could spiral downward quickly. Win and they probably get to the SEC CG

Agreed Kentucky in the East looks like they could be the Arkansas from the West as far as spoiler game somewhere along the way.

That guy is a great head coach. He was left with the cupboard bare when he took team over. I may put some money on them to win natl championship. Would be nice for dylan weisbrodt colerain grad and they just got another ol from colerain

great recruiter but he will find a way to lose at least 1 game this year from his shitty coaching

NO but did you forget that I went to university of cincinnati games under dantonio, kelly and coach jones? He was the best of the three. Did you forget that a colerain grad starts offensive line at tennessee. I have friends that have been going to ten. games for years. When they hired him they were bitching because he was a yankee. They are now under the fold. next year will be first time they are all his kids

you have a biased opinion since he had a couple of good seasons at your school, which is fine.

Let's see how he does this season with a stacked team and a couple years of strong recruiting classes under his belt.

My prediction is that they underachieve.

well they are being touted as national championship contenders and winning their division in the SEC

    neither will happen

they will lose multiple games due to being overmatched by better coaches

That four game stretch of Florida at home, Georgia and Texas A&M, both away then Alabama at home is brutal. Can't see them going better than 2-2 in that stretch. That's their entire season in a nutshell.

When did a&m become this juggernaut ? THEY couldn't compete in the swc or the 12. Florida is recovering from their old coach and georgia always chokes

Games are not won based on projections or what the so called experts say. I will believe it when i see it. Judging by last year, they really don't have what it takes to win anything. I'll go by that until proven wrong.

In the last 26 games between Alabama, Georgia, & Florida...Tennessee is 1-25. They have to kick that trend

This is best team in a while for tennessee. What sucks as a bearcat fan is our coaches leave and make other programs better. If only tubberville and cronin would leave.

Cincy has been more of a stepping stone program until they hired Tubby the wash up. They have benefited by getting up and coming coaches.
Why they hired him i will never understand.
